okay so since this poll is asking what is most likely to be the reason why from like a dc throwing us a bone kind of way and not the way i would want it to happen in canon i feel like the most likely ways are going to be mouth to mouth possession and fake relationship in that order mouth to mouth as a life saving measure but then forgotten about after a one off joke possession probably by a new lady villain that will be “for laughs” (aka at our expense ) and then one off joke/promptly forgotten fake relationship/distraction is still like not likely to happen but if it did i think it would follow the same formula of one time incident that is immediately played off “for laughs” and then never brought up again i think ?? maybe im giving them too much credit here but i think even they would realize they couldn't handle the pink kryptonite idea in a way that wouldn't be massively terrible like i think maybe they are that aware at least i think if they went the threesome route even then they would make it like a fantasy plot line probably being caused by some villain and strive to frame it as “they are only attracted to the female in this scenario no homo” as far as they could i might be a pessimist maybe but just thinking about the ream of what i believe is actually in possibility which is also why i dont think theyd go the sex pollen/love potion route either because thats too much commitment to the idea HOWEVER !! SAYING ALL OF THAT !!! in a world where superbat could be handled well by them and not written off as a joke in the immediate panel or scene that follows i would of course want it to be the culmination of a genuine romance plotline i'm okay with a reboot for that to happen but also i think it could work within canon right now too so reboot or not im good i think they could do it without lois getting screwed over like if it remained in canon as is i think clark and lois could be honest about the stress of their relationship and how hard it is to be the lover of a superhero esp when that is superman etc etc and how lois lane has done so much for herself but marriage with clark and raising clark's kid sometimes feels like taking a backseat in her own life while he's off saving the world and thats never something that lois lane ever wanted she's lois lane shes the hero of her own story and that idea goes back to her very first original appearances in the comics: lois lane doesn't need superman but she chooses him and i think in this ideal world where superbat could be handled well by the narratives that be if they didnt reboot they could choose to examine that choice and if lois feels like that choice is really for her own happiness and explore and examine the “happy ending” that lois and superman are always shuffled into to make for a clean wrap up and so with that canon both of them taking a step back from their relationship and moving in different directions and exploring a world where they pursue hopes ( and relationships ) bc they want to and not just because its “fits in well” with their live ( and then maybe lois can kiss wonder woman listen i just think that ship would be a neat dynamic you can take it or leave it but ) ( i think there could be real sparks there )
