So, that new Sander Asides episode-
Scrolling through the sanders sides tag after the asides drop like
well shit
I want orange to be a surfer dude. Each side so far has had some level of high energy. Even logan has had his emotional outbursts. What if orange just does. Not. Care. Hes just super chill and possibly high all he time.
Each side cares about something. Logan with keeping thomas scheduled, patton about guiding thomas, virgil keeping thomas safe ect. But orange is just there, chilling.
Virgil: *freaking out about something*
Orange: so what?
Virgil: What do you mean?!? We. Could. die!!
Orange: ahaha. Thats sick my guy. Right on đ¤
Oh. And hes the one who âtaughtâ virgil to skateboard.
Remus: *does something incredibly disturbing*
Orange: thats gnarly bro. Anyway. Wanna help me convince Virgil to get high? My man has been totally on edge lately.
Janus: *ranting about society*
Orange: chiiiiillll bro. You gotta just go with the flow.
Janus: wh-
Orange: *nodding wisely* the flow man. Go with it
Edit: i am now realizing thomas really does need to chill hes been freaking out too much. so that side could actually really help him pffft
1. The knife metaphor
Remember that moment where Logan gave c!Thomas a coloring book so he could take a break for a little bit?
Well you certainly heard Logan say something about how Thomas should 'do something less stressful like coloring so that he can let the unwanted thoughts pass him by'.
After Logan made that statement, the knife flew across the kitchen and into the living room (Or is it the living room idk-), and before c!Thomas gets obliterated, he moves his head forward to focus more on the coloring book.
This moment makes me think that the knife represents c!Thomas' unwanted thoughts, and when he moves his head forward, he basically shifted his focus to the coloring book. Thus he was able to let the thought 'pass him by'.
Literally and figuratively.
2. Orange room pog
After the whole awesome dancing, Logan decides to talk to Remus. Which totally went well. Anyway, my main focus here is the room Logan and Remus are in.
Interestingly enough, the room already has a tint of orange in it before Logan decided to talk to Remus.
Which possibly indicates that man's already frustrated because Nico still hasn't responded to him yet. The orangeness just became more obvious when Logan tried to talk to Remus.
Another one is that the orange tint became more saturated? (I couldn't find any better words) when Thomas picked up the phone.
This could just be my eyes deceiving me but my point still stands.
This reminds me of someone else's theory about how Logan and Thomas are connected in a way where Logan is more influenced by Thomas' anger because of his religious upbringing and his frustration of being ignored. Also the orange room further proves the existence of the orange side and how he can affect the others using the others anger and frustration about something.
Now that I think about it, it's pretty cool how when a side or Thomas is extremely angry at something, a tint of orange can be seen.
In Putting others first:
And in Learning New Things About Ourselves:
Im surprised I havent seen anyone talk about the orange light coming from upstairs- (Unless someone already did. But s t i l l). There could be more sights of orangeness but that's all I could find.
And that's all of em. If you have more suggestions and theories, do tell me. Im craving for m o r e .
So did anyone else catch the lighting? there was yellowish lighting when Janus was onscreen
and yâall are never gonna fucking believe what color lighting was in the background of Thomas interviewing the sides
Logan: I'm just feeling kind of sad...
Wrath, putting a hand on his shoulder: Yes yes, but what if you were angry?
Logan: Should I be really be angry though??
Wrath, trembling with fury holding a multi-paper dated list of how many times Logan has been talked over, ignored, and just excluded: YES.
My theory is that the Orange side is only talking through Logan because he can't appear as long as Thomas has not acknowledged his existence and the contradiction he create with Logan: Janus first impersonated Patton, taking his form, voice and place in the room... and only appeared as himself after Logan asked Thomas if he wanted to learn something new about himself and spoke Janus' name. To appear Remus had to literally knock Roman unconscious and stand at his place in the room... and he started appearing after Logan tried to start a discussion about Thomas' intrusive thoughts and was repeatedly shushed by Patton Virgil and Thomas. I think they can't appear together at first because the oposite sides create a paradox in Thomas' personality which at first is hard to accept. He can be both a good, moral person (Patton) and also lie and be selfish sometime (Janus). He has a wonderful imagination (Roman) that also let him to imagine the worst possible situation (Remus). Logan represents order, logic, being calm and thinking before acting. The fact that we got a glimpse of the Orange side when Logan (and Thomas on his phone) lost his cool means to me that the Orange side is Thomas anger but also the impulsive actions he might do when he is angry. So in my opinion Logan's eyes glowing orange means that the Orange side represents anger and impulsiveness, that he is trying to come through but that he can't because Thomas has not yet accepted this part of himself and has a hard time balancing the idea that he can be logical and collected but also angry and short tempered sometimes.
Oh my gosh, you're completely right that both Janus and Remus have completed replaced other sides in the conversation before, most likely because they contradicted each other in Thomas' head. It would be reasonable to conclude one cannot act rationally and with anger at the same time. That's so cool.
do you have any songs that you feel correspond to mattie and flora? (any lucy dacus and/or boygenius is an added bonus)
Hereâs an entire playlist I have going for them!!
But a Lucy Dacus song I always attach to them is triple dog dare 10000%
I donât really care if the Orange side turns out to be anger or not But if he does turn out to be Anger I want him to be the most self loving and caring motherfucker in the series. Because even more than Janusâ role Anger is there to protect itâs human even when all the other parts of the human think it doesnât deserve anything good at all. He will still be filled with rage but he better be channeling that immense rage to yell at Thomas about how he has to treat himself better
This is all I got from watching Working Through Intrus*ve Thoughts
