I like to think that Chosen and Dark were always going to have the protagonist/antagonist dynamic. First of all, it’s literally in their names. “The Chosen One" is the biggest main character energy you can get. And "The Dark Lord" just screams "I'm the bad guy".

After escaping Alan's PC, they kind of just did whatever they wanted. Dark had the opportunity to settle into his namesake quickly bc he had Chosen there to encourage the violence.

On the other hand, Chosen was still finding himself. But the line was drawn when he puts his foot down and wanted to stop Dark. He's not some stick that does whatever he wanted. He's THE Chosen One, designated "good guy" of the story. We see this during the Wanted episode when Chosen stopped flying just to save a stick from being crushed by debris. Bro is literally realizing his 'niche' as the protagonist in the story. He and Dark were just never made to get along.
