Masterlist
âThanks for cuddling with me, I know itâs not really your thing.â
âYeah whatever, be quiet and let me relax.â
To youâ he looked so peaceful and content. Heâs finally taking a break from his own ideals and thoughts, that usually make him so aggressive. He looked...beautiful? In a way, he looked nothing like the book he covered for. He looked like Katsuki, not bakugou.
Your thoughts that swarmed throughout your head made you realize something that you already knew. You loved him more than anything, you truely did. You do realize how aggressive and mean he tends to be DOES tend to throw people off however.
And he gets patronized and left out a lot because of it. He also doesnât receive much affection, from his family or his friends because heâs so tough skinned and hard to approach.
He really wasnât some arrogant asshole, he was more of a secret sweetheart who cared about his friends deeply.
A mutual respect was formed between you two, that soon turned to adoration, which turned into what you are now, boyfriend and girlfriend. You weaseled your way into his heart, and frankly you took pride and importance to your accomplishment.
He could feel your gaze on him as he tried to relax with his arm strewn across your shoulders. He grimaced and opened one eye to peek at you.
âThe hell are you staring at? Do I look like a fucking painting?â He asked, his ever standoffish tone of aggressiveness still evident in his relaxed voice. You smiled up at him cheekily.
âLike a work of art.â You giggled. You swung your leg across his lap. He grunted and instinctively placed his hands on your hips to steady you. He had a slightly irritated look on his face.
âWhat the hell are you-â
You didnât verbally answer him. You placed your hands against his cheeks and smashed your lips into his in a searing kiss. He let out a surprised noise into your lips, barely kissing back in his surprise.
You barely let him comprehend your actions as you continued to assault his face with your kisses. He seemed so taken aback by it, it almost made you stop holding back your smile, which you were holding back ont the fact that you could kiss him easier without it.
You kissed his lips, his forehead, his cheeks, his jawline, the tip of his nose, leaving multiple kisses in each spot. You were determined to leave no spot unkissed!
He quickly grasped your wrists, pulling them away from his face and towards your chest, but you still continued to kiss him everywhere. He flinched and turned his head away with a scowl, his face heating up.
âHey hey! What the hell are you doing crazy, trying to slober me up or something?!?â
You laughed at him. You threw your arms around his neck, pulling him into a hug.
âOh Itâs nothing, I just realized how much I love and appreciate you Katsuki!â You cheered, nuzzling your cheek against his affectionatly.
He flushed a deep red, his skin burning to the touch. You could hear him growl slightly, one that came from his chest. He turned his face away from youâ causing you to face plant into his hair.
âTch, d-doesnât sound like ânothingâ to me.â He growled with a click of his toungue. You knew him well enough to know he was very flustered by your statement.
You know that heâs probably doing his little pout, his face red as a cherry. You nuzzled your face into his hair, inhaling his caramel scent discreetly before laying a kiss down there. A chuckle rumbled throughout your body at him.
âYour right, it isnât just nothing. I love you, you know that right?â You asked softly, your hand coming up to rest on his cheek, turning his head towards you so you can look him in the eye.
He tried to avoid your gaze, to embarrassed and flustered to make a snarky remark. You could see the doubt and hesitation in his eyes, the internalized loneliness in his red irises. He didnât know how to react to your displays of affection as he opened and closed his mouth in an attempt to build a sentence.
âI- you-â He stuttered, clenching his eyes shut, almost sweating as he tried to form a response. You smiled down at him, giving a nod of understanding. You slid your hand up to his blonde hair, petting it a couple of time.
âItâs okay, you donât have to say anything back.â You said, no sarcasm and snarky undertones in your voice.
âHell, you donât even have to believe me right now, but Iâll make you believe. Iâll make you believe how much your loved, by me and everyone else you know.â You said, resting your forehead against his, your eyes closed with a smile on your face.
His eyes widened and his mouth went slightly agape at your words. You didnât acknowledge it however, in fear of him thinking youâre teasing him. His shocked expression didnât last long however.
He turned his face away, a blush still evident. He scowled at you, but his lip was quivering and you could see in watery eyes, the tears he wouldnât let fall in front of you. You could hear him click his tongue in dismissal.
âS-shut up- just be quiet, I donât wanna hear your voice while Iâm trying to- to relax.â He muttered out.
You shook your head at him, your understanding smile still on his face. You took your thumb and wiped on the underside of his eyes, aiding him in his wish to not cry infront of you.
âItâs okay Katsuki.â You muttered softly. âIâll always be here to give you kisses.â You said with a cheeky smile, trying to lighten the mood. You heard him let out a large puff from his nose.
âShut up (Y/N), you talk to much.â He said, his abrasive tone returning slowly, but with the whimpering sound still in his voice.
But, through his hesitant and abrasive expression, you could see a small smile growing on his faceâ which, is all you really wanted from him.
âšA/N: the tooth rotting sweetness- I canât. But I tried out spacing my fics, do you guys like it like this or like my other ones where my spaces are less...well spacious.
The Jean fic is out btw for anyone whoâs waiting on it, and a Bakugou and Ray fic are coming soon!

Ok so in the BNHA Smash! volume three I believe, thereâs a villain who can turn people into animals with his quirk (Todoroki got turned into a koala it was fucking adorable) and Bakugou was the only who wasnât hit with the quirk. Well an idea hit me while I was at the skate park and this is so different from anything I have ever written I am so sorry, lmao just a crack fluff piece.
Summary: after being hit by a quirk that turns people into animals Bakugou finds himself with four paws and whiskers. Itâs your job as the only mind reader in UA to look after him. Warnings: swearing (Bakugou has been turned into a cat he is going to swear a lot) mentions of bullying I surpassed the 250 paragraph limit so I had to bunch the paragraphs together

âYouâre telling me Aizawa - sensei wonât be back till later this evening?â
âIâm afraid so.â
âAre you sure? Canât you give him a phone call or email him? Something?â
The receptionist shakes her head and you canât help but release a frustrated groan, your hands clenching and unclenching into tight fists as you puff your cheeks out in annoyance. The receptionist doesnât seem at all amused with your mini tantrum, her tired eyes glancing over you with boredom from under her glasses that keep falling down her thin nose as she turns back to the computer infront of her. Her worn nails clacking against the old keyboard and the dim glow radiating off the computer screen highlights the indents and wrinkles in her old face and it seemed that no matter how tightly she tied her greying hair back into a bun, her forehead still remained with withered lines from years of scowling at the students who passed her desk.
Your face would probably end up the same as hers with the amount of glaring you had done today. Your own brows knitted together in so ferociously that it caused the skin above your nose to crease to the point that it began to hurt but you wanted him to know just how pissed off you actually were. Your eyes narrowed on the cat that sat beside your feet, his fluffy ash blond coat almost seeming to stand completely on end in static bristles as if to express the anger that stirred within his small frame. Scarlet eyes glaring right back at you from the face of the animal, his long feathery tail twitching back and forth over the carpet of the UA reception creating a scratching sound that you were beginning to grow annoyed with.
Bakugou Katsuki.
The once loud and temperamental teenager with the ability to burst a blood vessel if someone so much as looked at him now resided within the body of a cat. As ridiculous and far fetched as this situation seemed, there was no denying that this feral looking beast was infact your classmate. The fluffy spikes of light blond hair now residing in the form of a fluffy coat and his vermillion eyes that once made any man quiver now belonged to the face of a rather adorable creature. The adorable part was only relevant if you looked past the spiting and hissing that he had already grown used to doing, but it was Bakugou alright. There was no denying that.
âPlease just please let me speak to Mr Aizawa on the phone.â you beg, turning your gaze back the receptionist and clasping your hands together infront of your chest. She only glared at you through half lidded eyes, her thin lips set in a straight line as she taps a button in her computer and the printer behind her whirrs to life with a loud rattle and hum.
âHeâs in a very important meeting and went be back until this evening. I suggest you wait, it canât be that important.â she drawled reaching forward to close the glass that separated her from the rest of the world ânow go away.â
âNow hang on a minute!â you exclaim, subconsciously sticking a hand out to wedge in between the sliding glass window and the wall, the edge of said glass digging into your skin before she pulls it back and thereâs a red mark in your arm but you donât bother to mind it âthereâs a real situation here and only Aizawa - sensei can help, I need his quirk to...â
âLook kid,â the receptionist snaps causing you to flinch slightly and step back as she rises from her chair and grips the glass in her hands as he partially sticks her head out the window, her nose almost bumping against your own âI only have one more day till retirement, I have worked here for flirty years and have heard you brats whine everyday over nothing. Aizawa is not here and you will have to wait, now stop making my last few days here miserable and go away.â
With her final words she retreated back into the reception office and slammed the glass window shut, pulling the blinds down and leaving you stood stunned in the lobby of the UA building. You blinked a few times trying to register exactly what had just happened before reaching a hand up to take through your hair. The locks fluffing under your fingers and falling in soft waves around your face, your head leaning back in mental exhaustion and your eyes closed as you tried to gather your racing and panicked thoughts. Those thoughts were interrupted by an angry meow from beside you and your eyes snapped open, your irises sliding to the corner of your eyes and head folding down slightly to once again resume glaring at the fluff ball beside you.
âDonât look at me like that, this is your fault you know.â you mutter to Bakugou, his eyes narrow and he spits at you, his claws appearing from within his fluffy paws and ripping through the carpet and you scoff âooh is that supposed to scare me?â
âDie.â he hisses in his head and it echos in your own.
Bakugou rises to his paws, his fur bristling and you swear you can see minute crackles dancing over the strands of cat hair as he prowls towards you, his tail waving behind him and he raises a paw to swipe his unsheathes claws through your school socks but you quickly stick a foot out and kick him aside, a smile spreading over your lips as he tumbles away with a cat like yelp.
âIdiot.â you mutter, stepping next to where Bakugou rises to his feet again, shaking his head and raising a paw to rub over his nose and for a second you think he looks rather cute but the second is over before it began and he quickly turns in you when he sees you crouch by his side and he attempts to scratch you again as you a reach hand out âyouâre really going to be hostile to the only person who can help you? I can walk away if you want, let you try and get this quirk reversed by yourself.â
You didnât mean what you were saying, of course you donât and of course you were going to help him. Bakugou was an asshole most of them time that was just an undeniable fact, but you knew that if the roles were reversed that you would be desperate for any kind of help and although Bakugou liked to act tough, he must have been scared. You had been more then surprised to see a cat wandering around on the UA campus let alone one with such vulgar thoughts, in all honesty you were surprised to even be able to read the catâs mind. You couldnât read the minds of animals, so it hand taken long for you to work out that this stray was actually your classmate.
In all honesty you werenât entirely sure how Bakugou has found himself in this predicament, you knew that whatever excuse he came up with to explain this, you would have a hard time believing it. Or maybe youâd believe it to easily but you wouldnât pry further or act interested, you saw things as they were and this one of those things that had happened. Bakugou was now a cat, whatever had lead up to that had already been and gone. You only needed to concentrate on getting him back to normal which was proving to be more difficult then expected.
You sighed, your hand still outstretched waiting for him to accept your touch and let you help him. He watched you carefully, his shoulders slightly slumped and his shoulder blades now prominent through the layers of fur and he looked rather defeated in that moment. But he seemed to give in to whatever internal battle he was having, realising that he didnât have any options really, other then you. You grinned as he trudged over to you, his head making contact with your hand and you gently curl your fingers around the soft head, his tiny pink nose bumping againt your warm palm and his ears flatten againt his head as he allows you to run your fingers down his back before you gently scoop him up into your arms. His body is light and you can feel some of the bones in his body from under his fluffy fur as he squirms in your arms, his needle like claws prickling your skin as you cradle him against your body.
âI donât need you to carry me dumbass.â he grumbles in his head and it echoes in your own.
âI donât want you to get trodden on, itâs bad enough youâre a cat it would be even worse if I handed you back as corridor kill.â you mutter as you move away from the reception and into the main building of the UA school making sure you have a tight grip on the cat.
âDonât act like you care about me you damn extra.â his words hiss through your head as his slitted pupils stare up at you from pools of scarlet âI donât expect you to give a shit about me after this is over, so I donât expect you to give one about me now.â
âWho ever said I didnât give a shit about you before?â you mumble and you feel him pause slightly in your arms, his fidgeting and restlessness having ceased.
âWhat are you saying?â his thoughts growled back at you but the layers of agression were slightly vieled by something else that you canât quite define but you donât think too hard about it.
âIâm only saying that you shouldnât think that your classmates donât care about you. Youâre not always the most agreeable guy in the world, but I still view you as some type of family.â you reply and you hear him scoff.
Bakugou didnât think he had ever spoken more then two words to you before and yet here you were calling him family. He didnât know what was more humiliating for you: the fact that you had opened up like this to someone who couldnât care less about you, or that maybe he was actually feeling inclined to start caring about you out if slight pity. He had seen you around sure but he had never taken any interest in you, he wasnât attending UA for anyone else but himself and friends would only drag him down. But he had to admit he had once or twice found himself admitting internally that you were somewhat attractive, he wasnât particularly interested in dating, he saw it as a waste of time. Most high school relationships didnât work out and he didnât see himself as the type to surrender himself like that. But he knew that if he had to be trapped in the body of a cat he was glad it was you helping him.
âWhatâs wrong with your own dumb family? Why you gotta drag me into it?â he asks.
You sigh, beginnng to regret opening up to him. You should have known he wouldnât be nice about anything you said, even if it was meant in good spirits.
âMy family are out the country at the moment. I havenât seen them in two years. I guess I just thought my classmates could be some sort of substitute.â you mumble quietly to the small cat, his triangular ears twitching and for a moment you think heâll either say something like an apology or nothing at all. Wishful thinking.
âDonât burden me with your damn sob story.â he says ever the more vexed but you donât get a chance to answer as you feel a few pairs of eyes following your form as you make your way through the corridors of the UA building towards the dorms and your pace immediately quickened.
You were used to getting looked at in weird and unfriendly ways. Being a mind reader meant that not a lot of people trusted you, too terrified that you would manipulate or exploit the very depths of their thoughts and emotions. You didnât hate your peers for their ignorance, you only hated that you could still hear whatever they thought.
You had gotten pretty good at blocking out peopleâs thoughts, when you were younger it would be all you could hear. Just a constant loop of voices in your head that often drowned out your own, you had taught yourself to drown them out, let them fade to the back of your mind and become white noise. But sometimes words would slip through the cracks and sometimes that stung more then hearing the full sentences. Now that you were talking to a cat, you could already hear the negative thoughts in their minds as you kept your head down and pace fast hoping that you wouldnât walk into a certain someone and at this point you were basically running through the halls, side stepping people and never looking anyone in the eye. The urge to get to the safety of your dorm was ever present.
âOi, whatâs wrong with you?â Bakugou snapped, brushing your blazer with a paw as he begged for attention âwhat the hell is going on?â
âNothing, I just want to get to the dorm room, stop people from asking too many questions.â you mumble and his paw stops itâs brushing againt your blazer, the tiny body part resting on your chest as he pauses.
Heâd seen that desperate look before, the panicked flight of anxiety in your eyes was all to familiar to the boy and he felt his annoyance grow. The look of distress at something that hasnât even happened yet was the same look that Deku had when ever he thought that Bakugou was around and ready to pounce. It was the look someone had right before trouble found them.
âOi (y/l/n)!â a voice called down the corridor causing you to release a groan and your pace to quicken but his voice followed you âwhere you going freak? Donât make me chase you.â
You froze, your eyes closing in disbelief and your shoulders slumping as you sighed and your body tensing in such a way that it caused Bakugou to flinch as your arms encased him tighter against your body. Your body trembled as the voice called out again and footsteps quickly made their way over to where you stood, there would be no point in running or hiding from this particular student. He had a way of finding you.
âHey, the hell is this guy?â Bakugou growls in your head.
âPlease Bakugou, donât do anything.â you whisper to the cat and he glances up at you, a grumpy look on his face but he doesnât think anything else about it.
You hear him stop behind you and you brace yourself for what is about to come . You already feel Bakugou tense up in your arms, his claws sinking through the fabric of your blazer as if they can do anything to ward off the bully stood behind you. He may be a cat but he was ready to fight when the situation arose, you admired that about him sometimes.
âHey Tsuki.â you mutter, your back still facing the male behind you but you know him well enough to know that thereâs a sly grin on his face.
âTalking to yourself now (y/l/n)?â he asks with a sneer âcouldâve sworn I heard you talking to the thin air.â
So he hasnât seen Bakugou yet? You couldnt decide if that was a good thing or a bad thing, but if Tsuki was involved then that probably meant the latter. You hear him click his tongue and his hand is soon placed on your shoulder causing you to be spun around to face him. Your hair whipping your face at the aggressive movement that manipulates your body againt its will to face the boy behind you, your school skirt fluttering around your legs and the soles of your shoes squeaking against the floor and you were met with sight of your bully.
His onyx eyes locking with yours and his dark brows knitting into a triumphant glare, his shaggy locks of black hair falling around his face and his lips set into a sneer. His uniform was a rugged as ever, his top buttons undone to reveal the prominent collar bone underneath, his scarlet tie swinging around his neck and his shirt untucked with his hands shoved deep into his pockets. Tsuki was definitely not an unattractive person, he had a husky build and pale skin with dark, almond shaped eyes, it was clear to see that he could have any girlâs heart with just a flick of his wrist. His intelligence was not something to be over looked either, he was quick witted and often hit the top grades in class. He was far from the stereotypical brute of a bully that were often portrayed in movies, if this was a movie he would be the brooding quiet kid who was the heart throb of the school. But this wasnât a movie, it was real life and in real life the stereotypes didnât exist and this attractive second year was your bully.
âWhat the hell you doing with that beast?â he sneered, his eyes lingering on where Bakugou hissed in your arms, his body vibrating againt your chest and you pulled on his fur slightly to get him to stop, Tsuki only jeered âGuess I canât expect you to have any human friends, I mean what sane person would want someone who can pry into the very depths of their mind. No one wants to hang out with someone like you, why would they? Youâre a freak.â
âJust leave me alone Tsuki.â you mutter attempting to turn back around and walk away but he reaches out an arm to grab you, his fingers closing tightly around your arm and pulling you back.
âI could leave you alone. But whereâs the fun in that?â
Bakugou hissed harder, his tiny pointed teeth jutting out from his snarled lips and his ruby eyes bore into where Tsuki stood over you, slowly backing you into a corner. Bakugou didnât know who this guy was, heâs knew he was in the year above but he had never bothered to learn anyoneâs names. But as Bakugou stared longer at the older Male from the safety of your arms, Bakugou felt as if he recognised Tsuki on a deeper level. The way his teeth bared and his eyes narrowed at you so ferociously that his pupils seemed to have dilated. How his uniform was unkempt and how he had no problem with picking on the weaker people, Bakugou began to recognise Tsuki as himself. Was this how he looked to Deku? Was this how Bakugou Katsuki looked to everyone else? Was he like this evil and sadistic prick?
â(Y/l/n) why the hell are you letting him push you around like this?â
âBakugou please be quiet.â you say and you only see Tsukiâs eyes widen in glee.
At this point he had you fully backed into a corner, his tall frame looming over you and you released a weak gasp as he placed both ands either side of your head. His dark brown eyes finding your own and his nose is inches from your own, you can hear the thoughts swirling through his mind, all the horrible insults that are bubbling behind his handsome face that he has yet to spew out.
âSo you were talking to the cat. This only proves how much of a loser you really are. Can you hear my thoughts? Can you hear how much I hate you? Must be hard to hear what everyone thinks about you, but none of us need to be mind readers to know that nobody likes you...â
Heâs cut off.
Whatever words heâs about say next to rip away the last shreds of your self esteem are forgotten as the fur ball in your arms leaps away from you. A deafening hiss leaving the throat of the cat as his ash blond body becomes a blurr if fluff and he latches onto Tsukiâs face causing the second year to release a pained howl and his body jerks away from you as he tries to pull Bakugou off his face, the catâs claws fully retracted and digging into the pale flesh of Tsukiâs cheeks and splatters of blood to fall onto the carpeted floor. You watched in slight panic, too stunned by the situation to move. Your bully frantically dancing around in pain as Bakugouâs fuzzy form continued to claw and scatch, the cat now attached to Tsukiâs shoulder and his pointed teeth biting through the blazer material.
âGet it off! Get this fucking cat off of me!â Tsuki shouted, his hands grabbing at Bakugou and trying to pull him off but the ash blond cat was determined to inflict as much pain as possible.
You snapped out of your trance, your once shocked and frozen form now finding the will to move as you charged towards were Tsuki was still frantically trying to shake Bakugou off. Your heart pounded in your chest as you narrowly missed Tsukiâs hand as he flailed about and your hands closed around Bakugou. His fur almost alive with small explosions as you pulled him off of Tsuki, his needle like claws coming loose from the fabric of the blazer so suddenly that it caused you to stumble backwards. Your body hitting the wall for the second time that morning and you felt a slight ripple of pain which you ignored, realising your chance to escape you bundled Bakugou into your arms. His body shaking from the rage and his teeth still bared in what was supposed to be an intimidating snarl as strings of curses roared in his mind.
Bolting down the corridor, you didnât spare any second glances to any of the stares you got. You could hear Tsukiâs curses even as you made it the stairs that led to the first head dorms, your hair flying out behind you and lungs beginnng to burn and arms aching from having to carry Bakugou but you didnât stop or slow down. Your agile body dodging students that stood in the hallways, but bothering to apologise as you almost sent one girl flying.
âOi! Slow down dumbass! Heâs not following us!â Bakugouâs angered voice called out to you but you shook your head.
âTsuki can teleport. Iâd feel safer in my room.â you say to him as you as take two steps at a time almakt dropping Bakugou in the process.
âWatch it dumbass!â
âSorry.â
He doesnât retaliate as you finally make it to your dorm room, fumbling with the key that you pulled out from your blazer pocket, your nerves still slightly shot. The cool metal slides into the lock and you hastily turn it with a click, the knob on the door turning at your whim and the door flies open to reveal your bedroom. You quickly enter, slipping the keys out the lock and pushing the door closed behind you, your trembling form leaning against the hard wood as it closes with a soft click.
You let Bakugou drop from your arms, his padded paws hitting the hardwood floor of your dorm room and you slump into the door of your dorm room. Your legs collapsing underneath you into your sitting on the floor, your head buried in your hands and your fingers entwined with the roots of your hair as you give it a gentle tug, a moan leaving your lips as you try to think about some way to try and tame your racing thoughts. The darkness of your hands that cover your eyes offer some conciliation from the harsh red eye of the cat that sits impatiently before you, his feather duster like tail twitching over the floor boards causing a soft scraping sound.
âWhat was that extraâs problem? You spit in his ramen or something?â Bakugou thinks and his voice in your head rips your jumble of thoughts away from the mental lasso you had formed to try and rope your last bits sanity back.
âI thought you werenât interested in my sob stories.â you mutter harshly and you hear Bakugou grunt.
âIâm not but Iâd like to know why the hell heâs such a dick.â
You sigh, raising your head from your hands and leaning your head back into the door with a loud thud, your eyes lazily meeting Bakugouâs from where he sits a few inches infront of you. You dark know if you comfortable enough to open up to Bakugou about something like your bully, but you had to spend an entire day with him until Aizawa got back from whatever he was doing. You might as well kill some time, you couldnât imagine he was having much fun being stuck as a cat. Maybe him hearing about your miserable existence would amuse him, he seemed like the type of guy who found pleasure in others misery.
âHonestly, I donât know why heâs like that.â you say softly âSomething about me just pisses him off I guess, I think heâs insecure about what goes on in his head. His thoughts are his own and to have someone be able to read them unsettles him. Heâs not the only one who thinks that way, but heâs the only one to act on them.â
Bakugou is unusually quiet but it wouldnât have mattered, you can hear everything heâs thinking and his thoughts are some what shocking. You hadnât expected him to be insightful enough to compair your situation with Tsuki to his with Midoriya, and while Bakugou was the bully in his situation and you were the victim in yours, you couldnât help but feel sympathetic for him. That was one of the problems with being a mind reader, you could hear the deepest ambitions of anyoneâs mind even if they wore a mask of stone. It made it difficult to hate anyone or like anyone when you could hear everything they believed to be true about themselves and those around them.
Bakugou was seeing himself as Tsuki. He was mirroring your bully with himself and you could feel your heart strings pull. You had heard every dark thought anyone had ever had around you and it had made you resent yourself for being the only one to see the true nature of people. But that didnât mean you wanted to sit here and hear Bakugou resent himself too. You closed your eyes and exhaled.
âThank you Bakugou.â
âHuh? What the hell are you thanking me for?â
You give the cat a soft smile.
âFor what you did back there, you got me out of a bad situation.â
âOh, that. Well I didnât do it for you. I hated his face, figure Iâd mess it up a bit. Damn bastard had it coming.â
âWell thank you anyways. I appreciate it.â
Heâs quiet for a moment and you donât bother reading his mind, your own too tired to hear whatever was going on in his own head. Youâre surprised when he steps closer to you, his paws padding against the floor and he nestles by your side, his soft fur brushing againt your thigh and it tickles you slightly. Apart of you is tempted to reach a hand out and stroke him but that would seem inappropriate and you remind yourself he isnât actually a cat. You tell yourself heâs Bakugou, you would most definitely get a scratch if you tried to pet him.
âI suppose I should be thanking you too.â
âWhat for?â
His ears press againt his head and his claws spring out from his paws and retreat back in before popping back out again, his body tense and body language on edge as if heâs struggling to find the words.
âFor not makinâ fun of me and for not asking questions about it.â
You huffed in laughter, a small giggle leaving your lips and you donât notice his ears perk up at the sweet noise that escapes your body. He had never heard you laugh let alone seen you smile before, you were much like the half and half bastard, quiet and reserved. Maybe thatâs why he had overlooked you so many times but now, hearing you laugh, it made him shift slightly and caused his heart to palpatate.
Bakugou wasnât exactly phased by much, in a world where quirks existed the unexpected was to always be expected. It was probably why he wasnât phased by the fact that he was now a cat, he couldnât even remember what had happened but he had been chasing a known villain he saw on the street before being hit with said villains qurik and the next thing he knew he was walking on all fours and had a tail. He had expected a flurry of questions to come from you when you had found him on the school campus wandering around, but he was surprised when you had simply shaken your head with a sigh and told him to follow you to the office. He was grateful for that, that you werenât an intrusive person, it made the whole situation a lot less embarrassing for him.
âYou wonât tell anyone about this.â
It was more of a demand then a question but you hummed in response.
âIâm not the type to blab. Donât worry Bakugou, I know you have a reputation to up hold.â you say and you feel his small body push against your leg slightly and for a second you think maybe heâll lie on your lap but you were fooling yourself.
âHuh. What reputation?â
You release a small giggle as you stand up from the door, pushing him slightly as your rise to your feet, your rear slightly numb from having been sat on the hard floor.
âThe reputation of you being a complete ass hole.â you tease as you move across the dorm room, your shrug your blazer off. The cotton rough against your skin as you let slip off your shoulders and throw it onto your futon with a soft thud, your bare arms now exposed to the warm air of your dorm room.
âThe fuck did you just say!â
âCome off it, you know exactly what Iâm talking about.â you grumble and he makes a move to swipe at your ankles with his claws and he narrowly misses.
âYouâre lucky I donât have my quirk otherwise Iâd blow your ass straight to hell.â
âAwww is the fluffy cat mad?â you coo, stopping in your tracks to crouch down in front of the ash blond cat, pursing your lips and making a kissy face âdoes the grumpy cat want belly rubs?â
âThe Hell you doing you? You fucking wierdo. Get away from me! And donât call me that.â
You stand up still laughing and the cat behind you rolls his eyes, his ears twitching and his tail waving behind him as his thick fur stands on end in irritation. You stumble towards your desk that sits on the opposite side of the dorm infront of a window that overlooked the campus, bright beams of sunlight pooling through the glass and colouring your room in golden light. You reach a hand up to undo your top button and pull agianst the tie thatâs looped around your neck as you let it fall to the floor, you hear Bakugou follow close behind you as you pull out the desk chair and fall into it. A groan tearing from your lips as you relaxed into seat of the chair, your eyes falling on the mountain of books and papers on your desk and the urge to slam your head onto the wood of the desk becomes rather tempting.
You often let your homework build up over time, you had become a master of procrastination often leaving the assignments to the very last hour. It was a nasty habit and you didnât know hen it had started but you often found yourself drowning in over due papers. Huffing you picked up a pen from your pen pot that sits of the desk and glare down at your homework, hoping that if you glared at it king enoug it might decide to just disappear by itself. Of course no such thing happened and you placed an elbow on the desk top, resting your chin on the palm of your hand as you tap your pen idely against the desk. You had no intention of actually doing your homework but you needed to feel productive.
âOi, what are you doing?â Bakugou asks and you glance down to see that he sat neatly by your feet.
âMy homework. I figured since Aizawa will be out for most of the day I might as well kill some time.â
âThe hell, we didnât have any homework this week dumbass.â
You shake your head, turning your head back to the science and maths equations on the papers before you. The balancing of formulas and quadaratic equations an eyesore in ink that makes your head ache just glancing at it. You hated maths, despite your parents being scientists you had inherited a distaste for numbers and much preferred sports and English.
âThis is last weeks homework.â you explain and you see Bakugou cock his head to the side.
âYou mean you havenât done it already? Itâs due in tomorrow, the hell are you thinking?â
âItâs not my fault ok, I just really hate maths.â you snap, spinning in your chair to throw a frustrated glare at the grumpy looking cat sat by your feet âthis stuff is hard.â
âLet me see...â
Before you can stop him he jumps up from the floor, four small paws digging into your thighs and his pipe cleaner tail bats your face as he turns around on your lap, his claws digging into the material of your skirt as he tried to balance his weight, almost falling off and you quickly reached out. Your hands clasp around his body and support him, he didnât bother thanking you but you also noticed that he didnât bother telling you off for helping him either. He stared down at the papers on your desk, one of his paws on the wooden surface and you see his furry face shift into a scowl.
âThis shit it easy, the hell you mean you donât get it.â
You scoff.
âWell if itâs so easy teach it to me. Unless you donât think you can do it.â
You feel him tense on your lap and his brow furrows into a deep scowl, the whites of his eyes flashing as his pupils dilate. Any thoughts of turning down your offer have completely left his mind and is replaced with the desire to prove you wrong, you grin to yourself triumphantly. You knew exactly how to pull his strings.
âAlright dumbass Iâm only going to go over this once so you better listen close.â
You nod and sit up, dragging your chair closer to the desk so Bakugou is sandwiched between your body and the desk, you donât hear Bakugouâs thoughts of slight pleasure and embarrassment of being pressed so closely to your chest. He isnât quite sure why heâs letting you hold him against your body and he defienetly doesnât understand why he likes the feeling of your fingers thoughtlessly brushing over his chest. Your nails scratching at the skin of his chest in soft scrapes and his fur tickles his own skin, your petting him as if he was a random cat and he canât bring himself to tell you to stop it. He glances up at you as you do the easier formulas by yourself and he watches you from where he sits on your lap, his eyes closing slightly as you continue to gently stroke him.
Your fingers comb through his fluffy fur subconsciously, without even thinking itâs as if your fingers have a mind of their own as you feel yourself pull him closer into your body like you used to do to your grandmaâs cat whenever you stayed over. Bakugou stiffens at first but allows his body to relax againt your stomach, his head resting on your arm that wrapped securely againt your body as he talks you through the process of an equation. His rough voice filling your head with clear instructions that you had been deprived of in class.
âOk and then carry the two...â
You do as he says as you work through each problem, but with every equation you solve you feel yourself grow more and more bored. Bakugou was intelligent, you would give him that, but there was no way you were intelligent enough to find any of this interesting. You let your head fall back against the chair, your pencil slipping from your grip and your eyes tracing over the lines in the ceiling as Bakugouâs instructions filtered through your mind. His tiny body shifting on your lap and your fingers now tracing circles on his fluffy chest and you wondered how long it would take him before he realised you werenât listening anymore. Apparently not long because you soon get the sharp prick of his claws sinking into your skin and you yelped. Your head snapping up and body lurching in the chair almost causing it to topple forward. You glared down at him, his garnet eyes glaring back up at you and his tail flicking over your legs where the skin had been ripped into by his claws and small red lines were now present.
âWhat the hell man?!â you exclaimed as the stinging from your legs prickled through your nerves, a hit throbbing coming from your thighs were blood was seeping onto your skin.
âI told you to pay attention dumbass.â
âSorry, Iâm sorry. This is just so boring.â you groan, leaning forward to pick up the papers and sort through them, you didnât even realise how much your chest was pressing against Bakugou until you felt his claws sink back into you âwould you knock it off?â
He didnât reply, instead he batted you with his tail and shot you a sly grin, his pointed teeth flashing and his eyes gleaming with what could you only assume was triumph. You scowled at him before he turned back to the papers, his two front paws placed on the desk as he looked over the maths and you felt yourself grow bored again. Your eyes raked owed the desk in front of you looking for anything and it wasnât until your eyes landed on a laser pen that you felt your curiosity spike. You may not have been able to do math equations in your head very well but you could solve this problem almost instantly.
Bakugou was a cat. Sure he was still somewhat human but surely he had instincts? Cat plus laser pen equals fun for human. Bakugou as a cat plus laser pen equals much more fun for (y/n). The grin worked its way onto your lips and you gently reached forward to grasp the laser pointer, making sure that Bakugou couldnât see you. His ears twitched but he didnât notice and you friend even wider once you grasped the small pointer. You flicked it on, the red light illuminating the end of the pointer, a trail of red light following its wake and a small red dot lingering on the walls, you reached forward, your hand sneaking forward to point the laser onto the white sheets of paper and you but your lip to hide the giggles that threatened to erupt.
âAnd then you divide the six by the...hey are you...â
Bakugouâs thoughts trailed off, his body freezing and eyes following the red hot that flowed over the desk. You held your breath, your fingers twitching causing the dot to become a small blur but Bakugou remained still, his tail swinging back and forth and his ears pressing against his head and his body tensed. You waited for something to happen, wiggling the laser a bit more, you could feel it, anytime now he would pounce for the laser.
âWhat the hell are you doing?â
âUmmm...playing?â
âThe hell you are! Put that damn laser away Iâm not a real cat you dumbass.â
You sighed and threw the laser pen back onto the desk.
âIt was worth a try.â you mutter picking your pencil back up and resuming to gently rub his fluffy chest âwhere were we?â
You didnât know how long you you had been sat at your desk for with Bakugou curled up on your lap, but you soon feel a slight vibration coming from the boy turned cat on your lap and you feel yourself drawn from your homework. You glance down at the feline who is half asleep in your arms, your body shaking slightly as Bakugouâs form continues to tremble with a low purr escaping from his body. At first you feel as if you should wake him up and stop petting him to save his embarrassment but as he continues to purr softly with every stroke you run along his back you feel a small smile creep along your face as you lean back in your chair. Your fingers still running down his spine and his body continues to vibrate with every soft purr that swirled deep in his chest.
For once the loud and terrifying Bakugou was calm, even if he was a cat, it was a heartwarming sight. The little blonde animal so sound asleep and you let your fingers wander upwards to gently rub against his triangle ears, the fur now velvety rather then fluffy and you hold your breath for a second, terrified that he would wake up but he doesnât and the purring doesnât stop either. His back falling and rising and you can feel his tiny heart beat hammer against your thighs.
You had never really liked Bakugou, his thoughts were usually always ringing in the back of your mind even when you tried to block him out but whatever was going on in his brain had always been too angry and loud to ever fully block out. You may not have formally known Bakugou as a friend but you had heard him thinking his nasty and rude thoughts so many times that you felt as if you had known him your whole life. But right now his thoughts were calm and easy to block out but you didnât want to, you could hear every word in his brain that his subconscious conjured and they were unusually pleasent. A side of Bakugou you had never seen and it only made your smile grow wider.
You could have stayed in that moment for ever, with you sat at your desk and the spawn of Satan curled up in the form of a cat on your lap, his soft purrs melting your heart and filling the atmosphere with the bright summer rays beaming through your window with only your own mind for company as you let your head fall back and your own eyes closed. Your breathing steady and every inch of you relaxed in a serenity. A slice of heaven that was soon interrupted by the rude ringtone of your phone from your blazer pocket, you sighed in slight annoyance as Bakugou jumped awake, his purring stopping and you heard him curse to himself as you gently lifted him from your lap and set him down on the desk.
He watched you as you rise from your chair and walked over to where your blazer had been carelessly dumped on your bed. Sighing in irritation you pick it up and price that itâs slightly covered in golden hairs which you roll your eyes atbht figure it would be better to sort out later. Searching a few pockets you eventually find the mobile device angrily vibrating in the left pocket, you pull it out and are met with the glow of your screen and you grow at the bane above it.
Mum. What did she want? Wasnât she on that project in Australia trying to help with the process of a new medicine? What was she calling you for?
âYou gonna answer it then?â Bakugouâs voice fills your head and you tune your head over your shoulder to see he famiakir scowl on his furry face.
âI preferred it when you were asleep you know.â you grumble turning back to the phone that still calls out for your attention and you exhale.
Your parents never bothered to call you when they were over seas, which was ninety five percent of the time, they were usually too busy trying to find rare medicines and help out with poverty stricken countries. You figured that people with kind enough hearts to help out others would at least have he decency to check up on their daughter once in a while but no, instead they shipped you off to UA and left you behind. You didnât really know your parents, at least not as well as youâd have liked but you didnât have time to be sad or angry about it. There were others who had absolutely nothing in the world and thatâs where your paneers helped, you supposed you should be grateful for having money and a roof over your head but still, having loving parents would be nice too. Your thumb presses the jade button that is present on your phone screen to let the call through and you hold the device up to ear, ready for whatever your mother has to say.
âHey mum, I wasnât expecting you to call.â you mumble into the phone, turning around and sitting on your bed, your eyes meet Bakugouâs from across the room and he moves closer to where are you, jumping up onto the bed and lying by your side. Watching.
âHello (y/n) how have you been?â your mothers voice responds and you grit your teeth. You want so desperately to bite and snap at her for pretending to take an interest in you, but you repress the urge to do so. It was one phone call and then you could hang up.
âYeah Iâm good, schools been good.â you say nodding your head and you hear Bakugou grumble to himself about how boring you are and you reach out to pull a small tuft of his fur which he hisses at you for, jumping to his feet and making loud meows, forgetting for a second that he canât talk and instead his attempt at cursing you comes out in loud howls.
âHave you made any friends?â you mothers asks but her tone couldnât have sounded any less interested.
âI...â you trail off, biting your lip and you frown. How could you tell her that you hadnât made any new friends since starting UA? Nobody wanted to be friends with the mind reader, that was something that your younger school years had taught you so you hadnât bothered making friends in UA. But you also didnât want her to grow concerned over it either.
Youâre about to reply when you feel something shift beside you on the bed and you see Bakugou lying by your side once again, a bored expression on his face with his ears against his head in a lazy way, but you hear his thoughts that want you to stroke him again and you give a soft smile. Reaching a hand out to run over his back and he flinched and heâs about to tell you to back off but soon he relaxes under your touch, laying his head on your knee and his eyes briefly closing.
âY-Yeah Iâve made a friend.â you answer and a soft smile graces your features.
âThatâs good honey.â
Thereâs an awkward pause and you click your tongue, sighing and knocking your feet together, the leather of your heels making a small clacking sound as you try to wrack your mind for any type of conversation. Your hand still moving along Bakugouâs body.
âSo mum why are you calling? Donât you have people to be saving?â
You feel Bakugou perk up and heâs wondering if your parents are heroes but you ignore him.
âWell, honey, I know itâs the summer holidays soon and we promised that we would take you to America for the holidays but...â
Your hand freezes on Bakugouâs back, your head dropping down slightly as heat builds up in your body, your hair falling around your face and hiding the shimmer of tears that dance over your eyes, your heart dripping in your chest and to the pit of your stomach. You knew what was coming, you had heard this story almost every single summer since you were old enough to stay behind and look after yourself. You new exactly what she was about to say and you didnât even have to be a mind reader to predict it.
âBut your father and I...â
âHave to stay behind to help out because the younger volunteers have to go back home, or have the supply trucks broken down again or maybe the navigator broke again and your stranded in the middle of the jungle again.â your voice is rising this time as you list off every excuse your parents came up with to stay behind in foreign countries and offer their aid for the research they were carrying out and you pull your hand away from Bakugou to rise off the bed and stand up, your temper rising.
â(Y/n)...â
âWhat?â you snap âyou gonna tell me that Iâm being selfish and that your research could save thousands of lives. I get it mum, Iâve heard that almost every year and Iâve put up with it. Iâve put others before myself in the past but Iâm beginning to get tired of it.â
âThis isnât about you (y/n)...â
âNo, youâre right mum. Itâs never about me, even my birthdays have never been about me because you and dad are always so busy with work. If your job is so important to you why did you bother having a kid? Itâs obvious Iâm not your priority anymore, I donât even know if I ever was.â
âYouâre being dramatic (y/n)...â
âWhen was the last time you saw me?â
Your voice is a weak whisper as your eyes sting with tears, your mothers silence filling your ears and you swallow the bitter taste in your mouth. Your cheeks flushed from anger and your throat dry from trying to hold back the tears, you donât want to cry in front of Bakugou. You refuse to but your mothers silence to your question only breaks your heart more.
âWell then mum. When was the last time you saw me?â you ask again and she sighs on the other side of the phone but she still doesnât reply and this time you canât help but let one tear slip out but you quickly wipe it away âIâll talk to mr Aizawa about boarding over the holidays. See you whenever I guess.â
â(Y/n) please just...â
âIt was two years ago in the spring. Thatâs when you last saw me. Iâll talk to you later, maybe I donât know.â
â(Y/n) Iâm really sor...â
âSorry? Yeah no fine, apology accepted, whatever I got it. Hope your research goes well.â you say bitterly, pulling the phone away from your ear and tossing it onto your pillow, your body soon follows.
The futon fluffing underneath you as you collapse onto the bed, curling into a slight foetal position bringing your knees up to your chest and laying your head on the pillow. Your hair fanned out around you as you try to control your breathing and calm yourself by pressing your eyes closed. Your fingers curl into fists by your head, the material of the pillow scrunching into the palm of your hand as tears slip out from under eye lids and leave damp streaks down your cheeks.
Typical. You didnât know why you were crying, youâd expected this. Why were you so upset over this? Youâd vowed that youâd never cry over this again, but you were beginning to feel more and more like a burden to you parents then the miracle you were supposed to be. You didnât want to be that kid with parent issues, but you were and you hated it. Oh well, it looked like another summer would be spent with Aizawa and some of the other students who had as fucked yo parents as yours.
âThe hell was all that about?â
You internally groaned. You had forgotten he was there for a second but you should have known he would make his voice heard sooner or later.
âIt was just my mum saying that she canât home for the holidays. Again. For the third year in a row.â you mutter, your eyes still closed but you lazily open then when you feel Bakugou make his way over the bedspread towards you.
His fluffy paws making small indents on the mattress and his body slinking towards you. He stood by your face, laying himself down by your head, his fur tickling your nose and you let your eyes slide open to be met with his own striking garnet. His slitted pupils meeting yours and you lay there staring at him, you could easily see how this cat was Bakugou. Even in this form his scowl never faltered and if you hadnât been able to hear the thoughts in his head you would have wandered what he was thinking.
âSo what if your parents donât come home for the summer?â he thinks and you sigh, rolling your eyes.
âI donât expect you to understand Bakugou, Iâm sure your parents love you enough to bother seeing you at least once within two years.â you mutter âplease donât say anything about this if itâs going to be you usual rudeness.â
Heâs quiet for a moment and you think that maybe he wonât say anything about it. You clearly didnât understand him enough if you thought that was the case, because he reaches a paw up and bats you in the face with it causing your to flinch in slight pain but you notice that itâs a lot gentler then his earlier attempts to swat you and that he thankfully didnât use his claws. Still, you werenât in the mood to fight a cat, even if it was Bakugou.
âWhat makes you think I canât relate to you? You donât know shit about me.â his tone of voice in his mind sounds harsh and cold shouldered but it drops off slightly towards the end, as if he was suddenly saddened and it made you fall quiet as you turned your face out of the pillow to look at him and his head is bowed slightly and his ear drooping ever so slightly âwhen I was taken by those damn bastards, the league, my mum blamed me. Said I wasnât strong enough and that it was my fucking fault any of it happened.â
Your brow creases and you can hear the slight edge of guilt and pain in his voice, even if itâs his consience talking your quirk allows you to hear the emotion behind peopleâs thoughts and Bakugouâs words are dripping in what can only be described as guilt and self hate. Bakugou, the most obnoxious and brash person you had ever met, was doubting himself and blaming himself for what had happened. You couldnât imagine being a mother and blaming your child for something like that instead of just being grateful they were alive. What kind of mother did Bakugou have?
âIt wasnât your fault Bakugou.â you mumble, your words slightly muffled by the pillow and you turn in your side, your school skirt ruffling by your thighs.
âWell they didnât take anyone else, everyone else was strong enough. Now look at me, iâm a walking fucking furball.â
You couldnât help but snicker and his head snapped up to glare at you.
âItâs not fucking funny.â
âIâm sorry. I wasnât laughing at you, I just think itâs amusing how both our parents are so screwed up.â you say softly but he doesnât reply and you sigh âits going to be ok Bakugou. When mr Aizawa gets back he can fix this. But Bakugou, if it helps, I think youâre one of the strongest people I know.â
âYou do?â
You nod.
âMmhm, even in this rather adorable form.â you tease and he hisses but doesnât protest as you reach a hand out to run the back of his ear âI think youâre incredibly strong.â
âYouâre not the weakest person Iâve ever met.â he grumbled and you felt a smile crawl over your lips, youâd almost forgotten about your previous aggression with your parents âyouâre not the worst person Iâve had the unfortune of being with either.â
âIs that a compliment?â you tease and he scoffs.
âTake it however the fuck you want.â
âWell then thank you Bakugou.â
He inches closer toward you, his body nestling by your stomach and he curls up where your legs are bent. His form pushing against your bladder slightly and his body moving up and down with his small breaths and you freeze for a moment, the feeling of his fluffy form curled into your stomach fills you with a sudden drowsiness and your eyes kids grow heavy as Bakugouâs light purrs fill the room once again and your finger itch at his head, gently running over his ears and you know heâs asleep. You yourself feel your eye lids grow heavy and before you know it your passed out with the ash blond cat sound asleep by your side, his light snores filling your ears as you drifted further into unconsciousness.
You didnât know how long you had been passed out for, maybe an hour maybe two or maybe only a few minutes. You really hated napping because you often lost track of time and woke up disoriented, but judging by the light coming from the windows youâd youâd been out for a while. The once bright yellow of the sun beams that ripples through the window of your dorm weâre now a softer and warmer shade that filled your bright dorm room with a natural glow. The once sapphire atmospheric sky was now a soft palet of orange and purple hues that softly hung above the UA campus.
It took you a while to eventually let your eyes flutter open, the dull ache from the hours spent sleeping lingering across your face and your body having been stiff from the foetal position you had slept in. Your uniform crumpled around your body with creases that would take a while to iron out and your hair slightly tangled but you didnât have the mind set to care about your disheveled appearnwce at the moment. Instead a yawn escaped your lips and you allowed your body to stretch out a bit more, your sore muscles and bones releasing satisfying cracks with your stiff movements.
You felt something shift beside you and it took you a moment to remember that you had fallen asleep next to a certain cat, but as you became more conscious and your mind finally began to catch up with what was in your surroundings you noticed that the weight beside you had greatly increased. There was no way that the weight that was beside you and pushing down on your mattress was from one cat, you only felt your confusion grow when you felt what felt like a pair of strong arms tightly wrapped around your hips that were adamant to let you go any time soon. You could also feel the form of a large and bulky frame pushed against your own body, what felt like a nose digging into your toned stomach. Last you had checked you definitely went to bed sleeping beside a cat, this definitely didnât feel like a cat that was clinging to your side.
Slowly you attempted to sit up, careful not to wake up the person sleeping beside you but their arms were so tight around your figure that you found it hard to move at all. Carefully you allowed your torso to sit up, propping yourself up on your elbows to see who was on your bed beside you. You sighed letting your eyes fall on the figure beside you and you felt your body stiffen, your body seeming to jolt for a second at the sight before you, your heart squirming in your chest from a feeling you couldnât quite describe. It may have been shock or slight fear or something else entirely but whatever you felt it made you freeze and just look.
It was Bakugou. Now in his regular human form and he was sleeping soundly beside your awakened form. His well built arms snug around your hips and his face buried into your stomach, his toned chest pressing against your crotch and his feet hanging off the end of your bed. His breathing steady and you could feel his chest falling and rising against you, his muffled snores filling your ears and his ash blond hair softly glowing in the warm sunlight. You were eneveloped in his warmth and your whole body was soon relaxed under his weight that was pressed into your side but none that offered any comfort to your racing mind. You felt intense heat rise to your cheeks as you gazed down at the sleeping boy beside you. You hadnât felt him transform back so he couldnât have felt it either, if he did then surely he would have just left you and gone back to his own life now that he didnât need your help. Yet here he was, snoring peacefully beside you. You felt a soft smile spread over your lips at the sight of him, sure he was rather adorable in cat form but you had to admit he was much more adorable to watch sleeping in human form and you would even go as far as to say attractive.
You shook you head, trying to rid yourself of the thought that had previously entered your mind. You shouldnât be doting over this explosive and temperamental class mate, you shouldnât have been staring at him for as long as you had been either but you cousins being yourself to wake him up. He just looked so peaceful. Maybe it wouldnât hurt to let him sleep for a little longer. You would never admit but you liked the feeling of having him wrapped around your body, it was comforting and the burnt caramel steel that lingered on his clothing was rather soothing. Huffing to yourself you lay your head back into the pillow, your own hands reaching down to subconsciously run through Bakugouâs hair, his hair still as soft and fluffy as when he had been a hair ball and you couldnât help the butterflies that erupted in your stomach and battered along your nerves causing you to squirm with a slight giddiness. You were thankful that he had transformed back with clothes on, his UA uniform almost as disheveled as yours and you could still see light traces of cat hair embedded on your futon and school skirt.
Your fingers gently tugged against his roots and through his unruly locks of ash blond hair, your eyes pressing closed at the feeling of him burying himself further into your stomach and pulling your closer against him. He murmured something but you couldnât hear him and you werenât about to read his mind either, it was already bad enough that you were taking advantage of his vunrabilty while he was sleeping it would be worse if you read his mind while he wasnât aware. Still, that didnât stop you from enjoying his body being pressed into yours, in all honesty you couldnât remember the last time you had been hugged or held by anyone and the warmth coming from Bakugou did little to make you want to pull out if his grip.
You didnât move from your position for another few minutes, just revelling in the feeling of Bakugou sleeping soundly by your side still held close against him, your fingers lazily dragging through his hair. Your eyes pressed closed and breathing steady, but really wanting this moment to end but you knew eventually that he would wake up and probably chew you up and spit you back out for not waking him. Or he would just leave without a thank you or anything and youâd go back to the old relationship you had with him which was nothing.
You flinched when you felt him stirr beside you and you kept your eyes pressed closed, pretending to be asleep and you let your fingers fall limp against his head before he could feel you moving then through his hair. You heard him groan as he gradually came to, his arms beginning to slip off your sides and you felt your heart sink as the warmth was pulled from your body and you felt him begin to pull away from your side entirely. You were surprised he had remained quiet for so long, he was probably trying to avoid waking you up so he could leave without the difficulties of saying thank you or good bye. The thought of that made your weighted heart sink even lower but if thatâs how he wanted it then what could you do?
You could still feel his body on the bed, his extra weight causing the mattress to dip and you wondered what was taking him so long to move. Probably not used to being back on two legs again. You couldnât help the shiver that crawled over your skin and you turned over on the bed, still pretending to be asleep and releasing a soft sigh. Bakugou watched you turn over on your bed, his feet planted on the floor and his forearms resting on his thighs, his back hunched over as he turned his head over his shoulder upon feeling your movement behind him. His vermillion eyes glistening with something that neither of you could see but he certainly felt his heart twinge in his chest as your skin ripples with goosebumps. In all truth Bakugou has been awake before you had, he didnât have to be a mind reader like you to know that you were pretending to be asleep now considering he had pulled the same stunt minutes prior.
He had woken up and found himself tangled up against your body, his first instinct had been to pull away, repulsed that he was hugging you like that but he had for once thought before he lost his cool and realised that maybe it wasnât the worst position to be in so he allowed himself to lay beside you and pretended to be in slumber. Then he had felt your fingers move through his hair and it had taken all of him to carry in the facade of being asleep, he loved the way your touch felt and having to leave you now made him slightly pissed off. You shiver again and Bakugou contemplates throwing a blanket over you or maybe just pulling back into his body again, but he needed to get back to his dorm room maybe heâd pay that Tsuki guy a visit too, now he had his quirk back he could probably do a lot more damage then a few scratches.
âDonât fight Tsuki. Itâs not worth it.â
His head snaps back to where you lie in your bed and he feels his cheeks instantly heat up as he looks away from you, his cheeks puffing out in irritation. How much of his thoughts had you heard?
âGet out my fucking head.â he grumbled, rising from the bed. His hands reaching up to pull his blazer further over his shoulders, his hands running through his hair to rub away the linger feeling of your touch that still tingled on his scalp. You watched him from your bed, biting your lip and sitting up, pulling your hand through your messy bed hair and fluffing it up as you watched Bakugou move around your room as he readjusted to having opposable thumbs and two feet. It was nice to know that even after his kind thoughts he was still an unbearable grump.
âSorry, your thoughts are kind of loud.â you apologise and he scoffs.
âJust donât read my mind anymore, itâs annoying as hell and I donât need you to know what Iâm thinking.â he grunts and you nod, tuning out the abrasive thoughts that echo from his head and itâs quiet for a moment.
âSo, youâre not a cat anymore.â you say, pulling yourself to the edge of your bed where Bakugou has once sat âguess the quirkâs affects wore off.â
âYeah no shit.â Bakugou snaps and you roll your eyes but you noticeably flinch at the way his vermillion eyes pierce through you and you realise you seemed to have forgotten how intimidating the boy actually was when he didnât have a tail a whiskers.
You stay quiet, afraid to say anything else should you piss him off further and you were still too tired to deal with his temper. Still you were annoyed at his attitude towards you though and click your tongue as you wait for him to leave, your chest felt slightly empty at how he was treating you know when compared to how he was hugging you earlier. You can still hear a quiet hum coming from Bakugou from where you tried to mute his thoughts but his brainwaves were so loud and disruptive it was managing to break through the barrier you had put up until you couldnât hold it anymore and all of his thoughts cane flooding in like a tidal wave.
âYou idiot, youâre a fucking idiot whyâd you have to sleep next to her. Should have just left when you had the chance, now sheâs going to try and be your friend or some shit. But you liked it when you had her in your arms. No I didnât shut up. Bet sheâs reading my fucking thoughts right now.â
His body stiffened and he glanced over his shoulder at you from where he stood across the room, his eyes narrowing at you so aggressively you could swear that you saw a blood vessel burst. You quickly threw your glance away from him to try to appear as if you werenât staring at his back but you knew that he had caught you in the act and you heard him growl.
âI told you not to read my damn mind!â he snapped âthereâs nothing interesting in their anyways.â
âCan you just leave already?â you grumble, rising from the bed and making your way to the door, grabbing the handle and turning it with a click to let the door swing open âI missed lunch today so I need food.â
Bakugou only soffed, storming out the door, his hands shoved deep in his pockets and his footsteps echoing down the corridor. You watched his retreating form, shaking your head and sighing to yourself as you pulled the door closed behind you and made your way towards the dining area. They sometimes served late night meals for older students who studied late, you hoped maybe you could snag one and sneak it back up to your room without anyone seeing.
You couldnât stop the thoughts that swirled through your mind about what exactly had happened that day. Bakugou has been turned into cat. Bakugou attacked your bully. Bakugou helped you with homework. You and Bakugou shared your issues with your parents. Bakugou fell asleep beside you. It all seemed so surreal, it had happened so fast that a steady walk to the diner didnât seem like nearly enough to calm down what had transpired earlier. You wouldnât deny you were disappointed. You had hoped that a small part of Bakugou would maybe consider being friends with you, you hoped maybe you had broken down some if his walls and that maybe he had broken yours. But no, you were back to being a loner with only the thoughts of others for company. You didnât like getting attached to people, people came and went and you couldnât rely on them to stick around so maybe it was for the best that nothing had happened between you and Bakugou.
You sighed to yourself as you made your way back down the stairs away from the dorms and toward the cafeteria. There were a few older students lingering in the corridors and you made sure to avoid the ones that you knew Tsuki hung around with. You managed it with ease since most of them stuck close together and you soon found yourself waiting in line for food, your eyes still heavy from sleep and your body moving in sluggish effort. You could feel the states from the other students but you didnât care, you just wanted to eat and the pain filling your stomach from lack of nutrition was beginning to become unbearable.
When you finally made it to the counter your face scrunched up in slight disappointment at the food that was left . None of it seemed really appetising and had your stomach not been gurgling and growling for it to be filled you would have declined what the cooks had to offer but that wasnât the case and your lips were practically watering so you begrudgingly took a tray of sushi that was warm but also cold at the same time. You tried to ignore the thoughts of the servers that said you were ungrateful for not liking and chose to block it out. Thanking the servers, despite their rude thoughts, you made your way out of the diner, keeping your head down and pace fast just wanting the privacy of your dorm room. Of course today just wasnât your day and you should have known that things would not go your way.
âOi (y/l/n).â
You froze. The events of this morning having found a way back to you. You didnât have to turn to know that Tsuki was stood behind you, you pressed your eyes closed, a loud exhale leaving your lips as you turned around to face your demon. You couldnât help the smirk that spread over your face at the sight of Tsuki covered in scratches, his handsome face now decorated with red lines of broken skin from Bakugouâs claws and his nose covered by a plaster that did little to make him look any less beat up. He caught you smirking and you instantly regretted it.
âThe fuck are you smiling about freak?â he growled stepping toward you and you felt yourself step back again âthink this is funny? What your stupid cat did this morning, you think thatâs something to laugh about?â
This was a repeat of this morning there was no doubt about it except this time you didnât have Bakugou to jump in and claw you to safety. You only had your last few nerves and they were shot from the strain of todayâs events, you were tired hungry and not in any mentality to stand up to Tsuki. Maybe it would just be easier to let him bully you for a bit, blow off some steam and then hope that he leaves you alone for a bit. You stand still as he gets closer into your face, your eyes staring at your shoes as you clutch your food box closer into your chest. If your food made it out of what was to come in once piece then you didnât care what happened to you.
âWhereâs your dumb beast now freak? Donât tell me even the cat got freaked out by you too and left, you really are a loser.â he sneered, stepping closer and at this point you were trembling. You didnât know if it was fear or hunger that was causing your body to act this way.
âPlease Tsuki, just...â
âLeave you alone?â he asked stepping even closer so that his chest was pushing against your own and you found yourself once again backed into a corner.
Your back pushed up against the wall and his much taller form looming over you. Anyone who passed by didnât bother to intervene, Tsuki was respected and feared and there was no way anyone would stand up to him and considering most of the more honourable students were in their dorms at this time you had no chance of being saved. You had never thought you would want Bakugou in any situation, you really wanted him now.
âCome on freak, you know Iâm never going to leave you alone. You deserve this, you deserve to be pathetic loser who nobody cares about. Even your parents donât like you enough to come home.â
âH-howâd you...â
âOh please, you stay here every summer and every holiday since you started at UA. Itâs obvious your folks donât want you.â
âShut up.â you spit, your temper finally getting the better of you as you glare into Tsukiâs dark eyes and for a moment you think maybe youâve done something to deter him from causing you any more harm. You knew it would have been too good to believe.
His eyes darken and he only shifts his body closer to you, dropping his head slightly and leaning in closer, his lips almost brushing your ear and his posture is tense. You swallow heavily, your lips growing dry and blood pulsing through your veins in a way that made your head pound and you felt your hands shake slightly, like an animal that was cornered you had no where to run. You could feel Tsukiâs breath falling against your neck in a way that makes your skin crawl, his dark and dangerous thoughts filling your own mind and it only makes you wish that the ground would swallow you up and just let you die. You didnât think anyone would miss you.
âIâm going to make you wish you were never born (y/l/n). Bet your reading my mind right now, bet you think you have the upper hand on me but hereâs the thing...â
âOi.â
You had never been more relieved to hear the gruff and angered voice of Bakugou Katsuki. You released a sigh of relief as Tsuki leaned away from you, a look flashing in his eyes before he turned his attention off of you and into the spiky haired boy who stood in the middle of the corridor. Scarlet eyes narrowed into a defensive glare and his fists clenched by his sides, teeth gritted and in his head you can hear that Bakugouâs only thoughts are to protect you and get you out of harms way. You would have been flattered had your nerves still not been completely fried. You watched as Bakugou stepped closer to Tsuki, the older boy giving a cocky smirk to the explosive blond who placed himself between you and your aggressor. The ash blondeâs large frame shielding you from the older Male and Bakugouâs face was pushed into Tsukiâs, his face scrunched up into a menacing glare that would have terrified anyone. But Tsuki was not easily intimidated.
âDo I know you?â Tsuki asked in a monotone lull, obviously but recognising Bakugou as the one who had given him the scarring he now wore on his skin.
âYouâre about to know me if you donât back the hell away from her.â Bakugou growls, his jaw clenched hard and a vein bulging slightly in his forehead but you only feel your heart jolt at Bakugouâs words. Tsuki released a dark chuckle that sent a shiver up your spine.
âSo the freak does have a friend.â Tsuki taunts, his head tilting to the side and his attention turning back to you as he peers around Bakugou to give you a cocky smirk, his hands in his pockets and long dark tresses of hair falling over his eyes casting them in menacing shadows. Bakugou growls louder and shifts his position so youâre hidden from your bullyâs view, and Tsuki stands up to his full height the sneer still on his lips as he looks down at you and Bakugou âI can see youâre not gonna let me have my fun with her are you?â
âLike hell I will you fucking prick, I better not see you near her again or else Iâll blast your ass straight to hell.â Bakugou hissed, his hands coming alive with small explosions that caught Tsukiâs attention. The ravenette arching a brow as the small crackels danced in Bakugouâs palm and he smiled, pressing his closed before backing off, turning his back on you and Bakugou as he made his way back down the corridor.
Bakugou watched Tsuki leave, his ruby irises lingering on the retreating form of the upper classman before he moved away from you to turn and face you. He avoided your eyes, a hand coming up to scratch the back of his neck as you found your wits again, your food still in your hands and Bakugou stole a look down to see the sushi and his lip curled up into a sneer.
âDonât tell me youâre gonna eat that shit.â he grumbles, snatching the container from your grip the earlier grievance having been completely erased from his mind and you blinked in slight confusion. One quick read of his mind told you that he didnât want to be thanked and you took it upon yourself to follow his actions and not mention Tsuki.
âWell itâs all they had to offer. Iâm not exactly in a position to be picky.â you say reaching forward to take your sushi back but he quickly throws it over his shoulder and you watch with dismay as your food falls into a nearby bin, you glare at Bakugou âthe hell! That was my only food! Whatâs your problem?â
He scoffs and makes his way down the corridor, you puff out your cheeks in annoyance and chase after him, falling into a walk by his side. He glanced down at you from the corner of his eyes and he rolls his eyes in slight annoyance but he lets you walk beside him.
âIâll cook you something better then that cheap ass sushi. Think of it as me owing you, I hate owing people shit so this is me repaying you for lookin after me today.â he says and you open your mouth to reply but he cuts you off before you get a chance âI spoke to Aizawa about your situation over the summer, my folks have a place by the beach and shitty hair is going abroad with his parents this year so we have a spare room. Youâre coming and donât thank me for it.â
You only nod in response, a wide smile on your face as you follow Bakugou up to the living space in the dorms, your skirt still slightly covered in cat hair.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
     âOver here Mina! I found those little things youâre obsessed with!â I called over to the pink skin girl.
    âYay! Lemme see! Lemme see!â She came barreling over and nearly ran into me and the table. I rolled my eyes and chuckled. She squealed and call Jirio over to show her. I walked over to another street vendor. Our class was on a field trip in Tokyo and we were given a free day. Everyone agreed on going out and seeing the scene.
     âAh! Donât throw squid at me Kaminari!â I heard Deku scream and laughed at the context before turning to see said electric boy chasing the broccoli with a squid arm. I burst out laughing, holding my stomach. I shook my head before wandering farther down the street.
    I was originally from Tokyo before I moved to attend UA. My family are not insanely rich but we are well off. My parents own a house in both Tokyo and Musutafu as well as vacation homes or condos in different parts of the world. I wandered away from most of the class and I really wish I hadnât.
   âOi! Lookie here, dudes. Itâs Leeâs younger sister Y/N.â A chill went up my spine as I froze from the familiar voice. I slowly turned around to see my older brotherâs former three best friends with wicked smiles on their faces.
     I hadnât seen them since my brother cast them out of his life. He found out that they were bullying me behind his back for god knows how long and immediately cut ties with them. He only found out because I missed covering up an unmistakable wounds from their quirks. He was mad at me for not telling him but was more concerned for me in the long run.
     âH-hey g-guys.â I stuttered, mentally berating myself for being so scared. Iâm training to be a Pro-Hero for god sakes! I tried to steel myself against the incoming assault but couldnât help but inwardly shake.
     âAw. Is wittle Y/N scared?â Kei, the leader of them teased. âWell you should be bitch!â
    âYou cost us advantage with your brother!â Haru yelled as he jerked forward, grabbing my bicep hard. I yelped and he shook me. âShut up.â
    âWe could neverâŠâtalkââŠto you about it because Lee never let us near you again. And it became even harder when you went off to that Hero school. You didnât even give us a chance.â Kei gave me a smirk when he said talk, meaning something completely different the actual definition. âWe could have worked things out.â
     âIn more ways than one.â Aaron eyed me up and down. âYou sure have grown up, little sis.â Kei rolled his eyes and hit him in the chest hard. Aaron looked at him offended while Kei just gave him a âreallyâ look.
     âIâm sure we could have butâŠâ I gulped as I saw Haru activate his laser quirk. âI really have to go right now.â I pointed behind me. âGotta catch up with the rest of my c-class.â I tried to pull away but was pulled back hard. I looked at them with fearful eyes.
     âNot just yet, bitch!â They laughed and looked at each other amused. I looked around at the people around us. There are not too many people close so I decided to use my quirk. I have a light and shadow quirk.
     âI really have to go.â I said in a firm voice. They looked at me surprised and I gave them a blinding flash. The grip on my arm immediately disappeared and they all covered their eyes as they yelped. I took off running back in the direction of the rest.
     âGet back here!â Kei yelled. I obviously ignored him. I ran and avoid people easily with my high agility. I stopped to take a breath and see how far they were behind me. At first I could only hear them and other people yelling at them but I saw them finally a ways back.
     âShit, shit, shit.â I mumbled looking around for anyone I knew or something to hide behind. I finally caught sight of Bakugo a few yards away. I bit my lip and wondered if it was worth asking the angry Pomeranian for help against the anger musketeers. When I saw the three close I didnât think twice. âAh!â
     I ran over to the explosive boy and quickly grabbed his arm, dragging him over to the close by building.
    âWhat the hell!â He screamed at me. I flinched but looked back towards the others.
    âSh, sh! Please, shh!â I tried to shush him but he growled at me.
    âWhat the hell do you think youâre doing you damn strobe light?â I wanted to giggle at his nickname for me but there was no time. I caught sight of his hoodie around his waist and ripped it off of him. âHey!â
    âPlease, justâŠIâŠah!â I saw them closer now. I yanked the hoodie over my head and made sure the hood was up. I then did the unthinkable without even thinking. I grabbed Bakugo by the collar of his shirt and backed up. My back him the wall and I pulled him close and into kiss before he could even protest.
     âWhaâŠâ He mumbled against my lips, hands falling tense on both sides of my head. He tried to pull away but my grip was vice.
    âWhere is that little bitch! I am going to beat her to a pulp when I get my hands on her.â I heard Kei growl from right near us. âShe will be so messed up that she wonât even be able to go to brother to rat this time.â I whimpered against Bakugoâs lips and my grip on his shirt tightened. I felt Bakugo stop fighting me.
    âI say we donât even let her be able to do anything at all when were done with her.â Haru chipped.
    I donât know what happened but Bakugo relaxed and leant into me. He moved his hands so one of his forearms rested next to my head and the other moved to my hip. What shocked me most is when he started kissing me back. We slowly started to actually kiss each other making the scene more authentic.
    âCome on, letâs check this way.â Aaron said and I heard them move on only slightly, more focused on the man kissing me then the men who were chasing me. I expected Bakugo to pull away as soon as they were gone but it seemed like he moved in even closer, continuing our soft make out session. We only pulled away when we both ran out of breath.
   âWow.â I said was gasping for the breath he stole. I saw a small smirk grace his lips. âI think theyâre gone now.â I whispered. Bakugo chuckled at my comment.
     âYeah.â He rasped out before leaning back in, starting another make out session. I donât know how long we were here but we were only brought back out when we heard a chorus of surprised yells come from Kami and Kiri.
    âWoah! Bakubro! L/N! Whatâs this pleasant development?â Kami asked while adding kissing noises on the end of his question. Bakugo pulled away and dropped his head a little groaning.
    âDudes! I didnât know you had a thing for each other!â Kiri exclaimed. :Thatâs totally awesome.
     âAt least thereâs someone out there that can deal with your angry ass, Bakugo.â Kami teased.
     âShut it you damn extras!â Bakugo yelled over his shoulder. I giggled. He smirked when he turned back to me. He reached up and pushed the hood down and pulled my hair from the hoodie, brushing it out lightly with his fingers. He suddenly placed his hand at the juncture of my neck and pecked my lips. âKeep it on.â
      âOkay.â I said softly. He smiled for real before throwing an arm over my shoulder.
      âCome on you idiots! Let go find the rest of our dumb class. Itâs getting close to time to head back.â We started walking and they conversation quickly changed comments. As we walked by an off shot of the street, I flinched when I heard their voice again. I felt Bakugo pull me tighter against him and rub his hand up and down my arm in comfort. He leant down to whisper in my ear. âWhen we get back to the hotel, I want to tell me what just happened and what those douchebags did to you. Is that okay?â
        âYeah, thatâs okay.â I whispered back. He hummed and smiled before pecking the side of my head and nuzzling my hair. I almost got whiplash by how soft he was being to me but reveled in this side of Bakugo that I was quickly beginning to love. Well, more than I already loved this explosion boy. He just didnât know that yet.
