DPxDC Prompt
Danny looks down at the massive table full of food. He then looks up at the woman that he had saved from a mugging, then back at the food.
When she said she was going to treat him to a meal for saving her he had expected maybe a burger from some fast food joint not a full thanks giving dinner in May.
"Eat up young man your much to skinny"
Danny's eyes widen "you cant honestly expect me to eat all of this by myself?"
The woman laughs "Of course not My son and grandsons are coming over as well"
Danny nods and starts putting food on his plate amazed at the fact that none of it is attacking him. Just as he is about to eat the door opens and in walks ...
"Oh shit its Superman!!"
The three that had just entered froze at Danny's exclmation while Danny was hit on the head with a rolled up newspaper "Language youngman!!"
Clark clear his throat "Um I think you must be mistaken My name is clark Kent"
Danny gives clark an unempresed look "Uh huh Sure dude. Do I look stupid to you?"
Clark frowns "No but "
"But nothing I've seen Superman before and you are definitely Superman what did you think putting on a pair of glasses was enough to hid your identity "
Clark blushed
Danny seeing the embarrased look on Clarks face laughs "Seriously man its not plastic surgery its glasses you still have the same face same eyes same body build"
Clark gave out a sigh there was really no point in hiding any more that and Kon and Jon were laughing behind him "No one has caught on so quickly before"
Danny shakes his head "That says less about you and more about the obliviousness of the human race
Clark chuckles and sits at the table "so outside of revealing my identity what are you doing here?"
Ma Kent smiles "Say hello to your new baby brother clark "
Danny and Clark both freeze "WHAT!!??
The Fentons found about Danny being Phantom and… it could have gone worse?
They don’t hate him. He’s not in any danger of being vivisected or having his adoption annulled. However, they’ve convinced themselves that he’s not actually a ghost; clearly he must be just a Meta with ghost-like powers and delusions of being dead!
So now he’s spending time in a psychiatric institute. Oh joy.
Well, at least they aren’t shooting at him?
…And of course this is when his twin brother Damian finds out he’s alive and comes to see him. While he’s in the looney bin.
Great.
Read the reblogs, there’s a few different threads, and they’re all good. 😁
DP × DC The Power of Names Coffee Shop AU
Coffee shops are notorious for misspelling peoples names to the point that it's a running joke and basically a forgone conclusion everywhere. Everywhere except this tiny coffee shop near Crime Alley. The new hire there, Danny, spells everybody's name correctly without having to ask. Whether it's "Carly" or "Karly," he always gets it right the first time. Heck, people give him their names in Chinese and Arabic, and he swaps to the correct alphabet, no problem (because Danny, being king of the dead, can speak all languages dead and living, so might as well be respectful).
It becomes a bit of a running joke in the community to give Danny the craziest names they can find to see if he can get them right. Some of the Bats even hear rumors about him and give it a go for fun. They make a game out of it to see who can find a language or alphabet that Danny can't get. That is until, while massively sleep deprived from a case involving cults and magic and getting nowhere, Tim accidently says one of the words that he'd been hearing in the cultist chants when he orders. Danny gives him an odd look but shrugs and writes something on the cup. It isn't until Tim has already left the shop that he realizes that the symbol written on his cup is one shown in the cultists scrolls he couldn't decipher.
Tim almost dropped his coffee. Danny wasn't just a human who knew a ton of languages, he must have been a meta with the ability to understand EVERY language. And the Bats desperately needed his help to crack this one before the cultist finished summoning whatever demon or disaster they had planned. But how to get the kid's help? From idle chatter while ordering, the Bats learned that Danny wanted nothing to do with the Gotham vigilantes. And Tim had already given his connection to this case away by spewing that word written on his cup...
(I like to imagine the name Tim gave was something like "corn field" and that's why Danny looked at him funny and not because it's one of the languages of the dead)
the third F stands for Fenton-
The Infinite Realms is a very little understood place by magic users.
It is the medium through which travel to and from the World of the Dead to the World of the Living must go; they cannot just teleport from one to the other.
But those who are not denizens of it cannot perceive it.
As far as any magic user is concerned, the Space Between Spaces is just a black, empty void, and the only way to cross through it is to make a Bridge.
On that bridge they will face Shades of their loves ones trying to drag them off of it.
The construction of the Bridge is no matter, as it's made of magic anyways, but the existence of that Bridge is beyond important; if the magic user loses sight of the bridge, or if a spirit trying to get to the World of the Dead loses sight of their way, then both can fall into the abyss and be forever lost.
Danny, having heard this story multiple times from ghosts with only the barest memories of who they'd been or how they got to the Infinite Realms, decides to build permanent, visible way stations for travelers.
It can't be made out of Realms material, or the travelers won't see it.
It can't be purely made out of normal construction either, or the Spirits won't be able to touch it.
He asks around, finds out where most of the bridges get made, and brainstorms with his parents.
Naturally, once Jack and Maddie Fenton are brought in on it, they go a bit overboard.
In the end, the situation evolves like this;
There are now waystations that look like incredibly creepy restaurants from a certain chain floating in the middle of nowhere to travelers, complete with desolate and empty parking lots. Those waystations are manned by Liminal People from Amity Park, who are paid by the hour. The Observants now both hate and fear Danny's parents in equal measure, and will not interfere with this. All of those waystations are owned by Waffle House, and all of them have fully operational menus for both the living and the dead. Danny's family now has a part of Waffle House's stocks, and his parents are now also trying to make terrifying kitchen implements for their new business buddies. The Waffle House Index for these stores has been altered from Weather to Ghost Attacks and/or attempted mass summonings for world domination. There are now random doors in Amity that have been rigged to open straight to those restaurants. The Infinite Realms Waffle Houses are a popular spot for Amity Park Liminal teens to get jobs and meet up.
So when Constantine loses sight of his Bridge as he's trying to get from the World of the Living to the World of the Dead, he's a little surprised to land in the parking lot of the notorious Waffle House.
And.
Well.
He is rather hungry, and the read he gets from this place is that it's not a trick.
He goes inside.
It's empty, but it doesn't feel like it is. The luminescent lights are a more faded green than yellow, humming ominously overhead. While the Medium is a black abyss full of nothing, once he's inside the restaurant, through the windows it's a swirling mass of greens and purples, full of doors and stairs that both appear from nowhere and go to nowhere.
There's an incredibly cursed teenager at the grill.
"Thank you for choosing Waffle House, my name is Wes; please have a seat and I'll be with you in a moment."
I mean… at least they’re yandere for each other and not two other poor souls-
part 2
Everyone in the Batfamily knows Tim Drake has… issues with boundaries. They’ve spent years trying to teach him what’s appropriate and what’s—well—deeply unsettling and completely invasive. To be fair, he’s learned. Mostly. He doesn’t stalk his family anymore (much), and he no longer pulls up files on every single person they talk to (okay, maybe just sometimes). But it’s progress.
But then Tim starts dating Danny Fenton. And, oh boy, a few screws come loose.
It starts small, as always. Just little things. Tim’s a detective, after all—background checks are second nature. Danny’s living in Gotham, and Gotham isn’t safe. So, really, what’s the harm in knowing a little more about Danny’s friends? And his professors? And maybe also his classmates? It’s just standard protocol. Okay?
“Tim, you’ve run a full dossier on my entire biology class?” Danny asks one day, laughing as he flips through a file on the coffee table. Tim shrugs. “What if one of them is dangerous?” “Pretty sure the most dangerous thing in that class is the midterm.”
Danny doesn’t think much of it. He’s a little flattered, even. Tim’s protective. It’s sweet.
But Tim’s mind doesn’t stop there. Danny’s too handsome. Too charming. What if someone tries to hurt him? What if someone tries to take him away? It’s not obsessive—it’s just concern. So, a tracker on Danny’s phone? Necessary. Cameras in his apartment? Standard. Monitoring his sleeping patterns and hangout spots? Logical.
Tim tells himself it’s love. And maybe a little insecurity.
“You have a tracker on his phone?” Dick asks, trying not to sound alarmed. Tim nods, like it’s the most normal thing in the world. “Of course. What if something happens to him?” “And the cameras?” “Safety.” “The background checks on his professors?” “Gotham U isn’t exactly known for its stellar staff, Dick.”
It doesn’t stop there. Tim knows everything. Danny’s eating habits, his favorite places to go when he’s stressed, his childhood allergies. Tim’s mapped out Danny’s entire life. He knows about Danny’s ghost powers too—of course he does. He’s Tim Drake. The moment he realized Danny was Phantom, it just… clicked.
Danny being half-ghost? That’s just one more reason to worry. Tim’s up late at night, watching for any signs of ectoplasmic interference. He tracks the energy spikes. He monitors Danny’s fights.
He doesn’t think Danny knows. He’s terrified of what will happen if he finds out.
But then he does.
One evening, Danny walks into Tim’s apartment and casually drops a folder on the table. Tim’s heart stops.
“What’s this?” Danny asks, raising an eyebrow. Tim swallows hard. “I… it’s just…” “You’ve been tracking me?” Danny opens the file, glancing through pages of surveillance reports, background checks, even analysis of his ectoplasmic energy. Tim feels like his world is about to shatter.
“I… I can explain,” Tim says, his voice tight. “I’m just… worried about you. You’re in danger all the time, and I—” Danny walks over, cupping Tim’s face in his hands. Tim braces for the worst.
But Danny just smiles. “Can I put a tracker on you too?”
Tim blinks. “What?” Danny kisses his cheek. “If you’re watching my back, it’s only fair I watch yours. I need to make sure you’re safe too.”
Tim stares at him, speechless. Danny doesn’t look scared. Or angry. He looks… fond. Like Tim’s obsessive tendencies aren’t a problem at all.
“I’ve never had someone care about me this much,” Danny says softly. “I trust you with my life, Tim. This? This just proves how serious you are.”
Tim thinks he’s just fallen deeper in love.
-------------------
The Batfamily? They’re worried.
Jason corners Tim in the cave. “Okay, so let me get this straight. You’ve got cameras in his apartment. You’ve mapped out his entire life. You’ve got a tracker on him and a heartbeat monitor. And he’s… fine with it?” Tim nods, a dreamy smile on his face. “Yeah. He even wants to put a tracker on me.” “That’s not… healthy, Tim,” Dick says carefully. “That’s—” “It’s mutual,” Tim interrupts. “We’re protecting each other.”
Bruce pinches the bridge of his nose. “Tim, this isn’t how relationships are supposed to work.” Tim shrugs. “It’s how ours works.”
Damian watches the whole thing with narrowed eyes. “This is deeply unsettling,” he mutters.
They try to talk to Danny. Intervention style. They invite him over, sit him down, and gently (or not so gently) try to explain that Tim’s behavior isn’t normal.
Danny just laughs. “You guys do know I’m half-ghost, right?” “That doesn’t mean—” Dick starts. “I spent my entire life being hunted by ghost hunters. I’ve had worse invasions of privacy.” Danny smiles. “Tim cares. He keeps me safe. That’s all I need.”
The bats don't quite know what to say.
-------------------
Tim and Danny, two slightly unhinged souls who think mutual surveillance is the ultimate act of love.
The bats? They’re just trying to keep up.
(“At least they’re happy?” Barbara offers weakly. Bruce sighs. “For now.”)
Gotham’s version of love was never going to be normal. But this? This is a whole new level.
crack au I simply must share
Red Robin: Hi I'm-
Danny: I saw your spleen in the ghost zone
first off, thank you! Second off, is there going to be more? Cause 👀👀
Danny doesn't know how long he's been trapped in this coffin the GIW put him in. His parents gave him to the GIW when they couldn't accept him being a Halfa.
He endured so many painful experiments by the hands of the GIW. He was then put into a cylindrical coffin that drains him of his powers. He can't see what's going on outside because the GIW put a casing over the glass in his coffin. He can't move either. Many things are keeping his limbs and mouth from moving. He can even feel them digging into his body and can feel them drain his ectoplasm for who know what. He probably wouldn't survive this long if he hadn't ascended to the throne for the Infinite Realms.
He can tell he's somewhere new, as he's begun to hear the voice of a woman trying to talk to him, he can't respond to the woman because of the muzzle on his mouth. And then his body couldn't handle anymore torture. His body morphed into the age his Ghostly half is, the age of a 6 year old boy, which causes his limbs and mouth to be freed, but it also causes him to collapse from where he was being held in the air by the things restricting his limbs(he didn't know that he was right-side up and was mostly out of it because of the low levels of ectoplasm he has).
Meanwhile, either Bruce, Tim, or both are wondering why the power core they bought from a government agency is malfunctioning. It was bought for Wayne Enterprises. It was said to be the only power core capable of lasting years. And when it was opened up to see what's wrong, a young boy around the age of 5 wasn't what anyone expected to see inside the power core, with wounds on his limbs and mouth from the restraints and the muzzle inside the power core that could be seen.
Meanwhile, Clark is absolutely terrified that the civilian that just bodied him no problem, is now working for his number 1 enemy, Lex Luthor. This may or may not be part of the reason Danny took Lex’s offer. A little harmless payback. 😈
Danny holding a glowing jar: What is this? Clockwork: Oh, that's some human soul I won in a poker game with a few demons. Danny:A human soul? What the hell did you bet that was the same value as a human soul? Clockwork: Your hand in marriage Danny: I BEG YOU FINEST PARDON?! Clockwork: Relax, I won, didn't I? Now I have a neat soul in a jar. Danny: Who does this even belong to? Clockwork:A child. Danny: .....you're giving this back. Clockwork: What? Why? The child wasn't even using it. Danny: I'm taking the soul back. What's the child's name? Clockwork: *Sigh* Fine, ruin my fun. The boy is called Subject 514A. Danny: What kind of name is that? Clockwork: He's a clone of another human child that was experimented on and was never given a personal name. Hence, Subject 514A. His body is currently deteriorating as we speak. If he stays in his current dimension, Death will claim him. Danny: WHAT!? We got to do something! Clockwork: I can't in his current dimension. Death has jurisdiction there as Fate has set that child's life to end. Danny: .....you set this jar out to appeal to my Savior complex and help you get back at Death and Fate didn't you? Clockwork: I KNOW THOSE TWO CHEATED AT CARDS! So I figured stealing one of their little humans and moving him into a nearby dimension a few years ahead would drive them up a wall. They have no power there since the timeline is my jurisdiction! Danny: And I wouldn't let anything happen to Subject 514A, meaning that the world would accommodate the Ghost King and the child under his care. You're using me a pawn in your petty game. Clockwork: You're still going to take that boy and raise him. Danny: Yeah, because I have the body to be a perfect DILF, but that's beside the point! I mean if he's a clone would the orginal be in the new dimension? Clockwork: Yes, but Bruce Wayne would be a full-grown adult with multiple children of his own instead of a sixteen-year-old adolescent like Subject 514A. Danny: Great, a teenager in angst. why not. Clockwork watching Danny leave through a portal to grab his new son: All according to plan. Soon, Wayne will assume Danny is raising his unknown, ill son, and my ship will sail once they get to know each other. he ha he ha he ha.
Phantom member of JLA hears about the other sidekicks making a team.
Asks if it is okay for his to join them.
Que them meeting Dani/Ellie.
Superman I didn't know you had another sister after seeing them interacting.
Only to be told nope she's my clone
Superman burst into a coughing fit.
Wonder Woman paused and then said, "Oh, that's wonderful! How do you consider her? A sister? A daughter? Perhaps a cousin?"
Phantom and Spirit beamed at her. Phantom answered, "She's a little bit of everything? But mostly a little sister to me."
Then Superman blurted out, "But she's a clone! Shouldn't— I mean— isn't it strange?"
Both ghosts turned to him with green, glowing eyes.
"Pardon?"
"Say that again?"
Superman coughed. "Well— it's just— doesn't it make you uncomfortable that someone with your DNA, who was created by someone that's not you with unknown purposes, is just walking around? Don't you feel like it's an invasion of privacy and ethics to have clones of yourself walking around?"
Phantom and Spirit stared at him.
Then they looked at each other.
Then they both reached inside of themselves and pulled out a notepad and pen, respectively.
Spirit handed Phantom her pulled out item and he wrote something on it before ripping out a page and then giving it to Superman.
Superman stared at the set of numbers in front of him with confusion.
Spirit reached over and patted his elbow.
"It's the number to a trusted psychiatrist. You need it."
None of the heroes that adopted him are aware that they are one of many. Not until the Fentons send out a parent network message informing them that Danny would be going to another dimension for awhile and not to worry his grandfather Chronos will make sure he’s eating daily
The heroes end up joining a an adopter anonymous group
(Sam and tuck have a betting pool on who will adopt hm next while jazz takes this opportunity to psychoanalyze loving super heroes)
Flash is so confused as to why his entire rogue gallery has each individually sent him a link to the exact same Redit post sign the comment “read the thread”. Like????
He still confusedly reads the post. Ok, kinda cute, a kid tryna be a little villain and asking if he’s bad at it, but then he scrolls down to the comments like they all instructed and he becomes slowly more and more horrified, wait, is that Red Robin? Not important, wtf is going on here?!
Inspired by this great prompt and goes the other way.
Of which Danny goes to Reddit as Phantom.
Now, I dunno much about Reddit due to my country's default system is to ban the site (except if you use VPN or Apple products apparently?), but anyways.
One reckon that r/evilmonologue exists.
Danny-as-Phantom is certainly asking that if he's a bad villain (Am I a Bad Villain aka AIBV) since his "Heroes" (Red Huntress, Fenton couple, and GIW) doesn't allow him to do Evil Monologues at all, when even the weakest "Villain" would even has his "Beware Box" gimmick (tho he certainly wouldn't do anything so cringe).
Ofc it comes from: Yes, GhostNebula is a bad villain to: this kid is handed out such a bad life that he really mistakes "heroes" and "villains" of all things. You sure that the guys in white and ghost hunters are good guys?? to: Flash, get your villain. I think he'll be safer with you since he also got no body count, so surely he was a Flash rogue?
And ofc the heroes of JL (or others) will investigate for some reason or another.
