I love him! Also, the white was insanely easy to do.

If you wanna recreate this interpretation of UltraMOOrines here's how u do it:

(Kits needed - Any Primaris Marines, Chaos legionaries)

First, u make the Primarus Marines as instructed(i personally like triming down the neck plate, but u dont have to) omitting the head.

Next, take one of the chaos legionaries' heads(preferably one with horns) and put it on.

Boom UltraMOOrines. Super simple. Only prob is ur kinda buying a hole kit just for the heads, so either do what I do and kit bash the remaining parts into other cool ideas or, get the helms of a friend/ Bit site.

Now for the fun part!!:

Prime light grey( I use Vallejo Ghost Grey Surface Primer.)

Then, do an overall base of a dark blue( I used Army painter Navy Blue, but any saturated dark blue should do)(might have to do 2 coats)

Then, after it dries, dribrush(with a MOIST/DAMP dry brush not wet) a mix of- 2 parts light grey paint, 1 part light de saturated blue, and 1 part white) all over the mini, leaving only the deepest recesses that blue base

Then pick a light source and gradually mix more light blue and white and "dry"brush (one part light blue to 2 parts white)

Then all the black(not the spots yet) mix ur dark blue base colour with a dark grey and a little black(1:2:1) go over the trim/weapons

Add metallics(weapons/back vents)

If u left the aquilla, paint it an ultramarine blue and hilight with ur light desaturated blue do the same on the right shoulder pad. (This step is completely optional, especially if u shaved off the aquila)

Paint the undersuit blue

Go paint the leather any brown u like

Paint the horns however you usually paint bone

Now the fun part go through with your dark grey mix add a little more black and go wild!(I used a reference picture of a cow and recommended u do the same but I'm not ur mom)

Do an overall wash of your favourite marine juice (I used Nuln oil, Agrax Earthshade, and Drakenhof Nightshade, 2:1:2 mix)

Go back over with a strong matte white and highlight/clean up the white areas and the eyes.

Finally, red contrast paint to the eyes mand paint the base green(I would've added grass tuffs but I don't got any)

I'm not a Space Marine player, even less an Ultramarine player, my army of choice is the Adepta Sororitas (with faith and fire πŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ) so.. I ask, with no judgement in my heart.

What the fuck is happening in the Ultramarine tag right now.

OKI DOKI HERE'S A RANT ABOUT MY NECRON OCS AND THEIR DYNAMIC! READ AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION!

Character mentioned: Asenath (Necron Phaerakh), Akhethetep the Abyssal (Cryptek Dimensionalist), Tethys (Exodite Eldar turned Drukhari Succubus, mentioned only briefly and is not that important to the story of the Necron OCs)

So, what I was trying to do recently is figure out the timeline of Asenath's Tombworld awakening.

For those that need a reminder or don't know: the current Asenath, 40k Asenath, is not the same person as the original Phaerakh of the dynasty that went to sleep (still trying to come up with the dynasty name... Dang it). She is actually the disciple of the Cryptek Dimensionalist Akhethetep the Abyssal. Due to unknown error in with the Tombworld awakening, she not only was (one of) the first to wake up, she also woke up in the body of the Phaerakh, with the real Asenath's mind/programming nowhere to be seen (possibly gone forever).

I wanted "Asenath" to wake up and realize she is no longer in her original body, but in the body of her Phaerakh. Something that leads to her having a complete breakdown as not only does her lowly self dared to encroach on Phaerakh's glory like that, but also this isn't her body, this isn't her title, she is NOT a Phaerakh, those are not her subjects, she has no right to command them and lead them. But is there other choice? With the original Asenath gone?

She stays huddled up in her crypt, angsting and trying to figure out on what she should do next. Asenath, the current one, may have knowledge on manipulating the fabric of reality itself, but she has no clue how to navigate politics. She has no clue how to wake up the rest of the Necrons... And should she even do it? What are they gonna do to her once they realize she is not the real Asenath? Should she lie? How long can she uphold that lie?

She angsts for only a small amount of time (two years) before her Tombworld is visited by a young boy, a laborer of the Underhive that got to curious, dug to deep and ended up here. Asenath is confused, but, as a scientist, is also intrigued. What is this creature? How did it get here? Are there more of them? She attempts communicating with the child and, well, neither of them are dead yet. The child leads her outside of her tomb, Asenath is introduced to humanity and is both disgusted, but also genuinely intrigued. She eventually learns the Gothic through listening to people talking and analyzing the patterns and is able to properly communicate with the boy. He tells her everything he knows (not a lot, lol), but she picks up on things the boy himself doesn't know. She decides to keep the humanity for the sake of studying them. If the Tombworld is to wake up, she will try to use her newfound authority to spare the humans and to enslave them instead (something she has no qualms about).

Here's where it gets complicated: Asenath doesn't know how to awake her Tombworld and would have to rely on her master, Akhethetep, to teach her instead. But how is he supposed to do that if he is asleep? Besides, Akhethetep killed the population of Tethys' Maiden World, leaving her the sole survivor... Tethys herself is supposed to be a very old Eldar, around 5 thousand years old.

Meanwhile, Asenath woke up only a thousand years before the 13th Black Crusade.

Meaning, Akhethetep has to be the first one to wake up, with Asenath being the second.

This could also contribute to the story by potentially being the reason "Asenath" is in her current situation. His awakening botched "Asenath's" own.

I will decide later what Akhethetep was doing this whole time while the rest of the Tombworld slept. Perhaps old man simply got curious about the current state of the Galaxy and snuck off like a teen sneaking off from their bedroom at night to go party. Perhaps he tried to awaken his dear disciple, so that she could accompany him, but something went wrong and he reluctantly had to leave her there. Maybe he left the message that Asenath later found that explained their situation.

There's another thing, should I make Akhethetep aware that his Phaerakh's mind was replaced by his student?

Him not knowing could lead to much angst and him feeling guilty on her machine body still slumbering, while the rest of the Necrons are already awake (with Asenath standing to the side and wondering if she should tell him).

Meanwhile, Akhethetep knowing or figuring out early on that real Asenath was replaced by his student sounds more interesting. On one hand, this is his student who is in this situation because of him being impatient, with her being scared and confused. On the other hand, he basically has the ruler of the entire dynasty in the palm of his hand. Asenath loves her master and sees him as a sort of a father figure. Akhethetep knows this, the master/deciple dynamic tangled with father figure/daughter figure dynamic (still, they don't refer to each other using family terms, neither in public, private nor to themselves). Asenath trusts and listens to Akhethetep... Wouldn't that make him the true ruler of the dynasty? Such power! It's almost tempting, doesn't it...? Perhaps, Asenath is aware of it as well, and tries to grow independent from her master, however she still has much to learn about Necron politics and has no choice but to turn to him for advice, lest she jeopardizes the future of the entire dynasty. She doesn't hate him, she just wishes things were different. Akhethetep says Asenath is smart and is doing the right thing by questioning his word and taking her time with answers, being unbiased, but... is he telling her the truth? Or is he only telling Asenath what would make her feel better?

Yeah, phew, Necrons are extremely hard to write. But fun and the results come out very interesting!

End of rambling, lol!

Oh, hell yeah! U mind if I include some of this when I make Fem deamon Magnus? It feels too perfect, not to include!

new headcanon: 40k magnus is really good at impressions, especially of random alarms and sounds, and the echolalia kicks in when he’s alone. his daemon form is very parrot-core and I’ve been watching parrot vids all day. so now my guy is a parrot

Digital canvas titled "How to: drawing characters with paralysis on their face" with "since I barely see it and would like to see more" written underneath. It features three colored drawings of different characters with various kinds of facial paralysis, labeled "ones that look more like this", next to a drawing of a heavily exaggerated character with cartoonish facial paralysis labeled "and less like whatever this is". There is a diagram in the corner of all the cranial nerves in the brain, with half of them scribbled out. The rest of them are labeled "i.e. what happens when any of these get fucked up". In the corner there is the artist's signature "@saszor" as well as "by: someone who has it" written out.
Second digital slide. It's titled "basic information". Underneath is a spectrum colored from dark green to red, with the dark green end labeled "works perfectly" and the red "complete paralysis". The light green, yellow, orange, and light red middle is labeled as "some degree of paralysis. It's not a 0:1 thing". Below that are 4 very simplistic drawings using the spectrum's colors to show different kinds of paralysis, including Moebius syndrome (complete full face paralysis), trochlear nerve palsy (both eyes being mildly affected), Bell's palsy (half of the face being slightly affected) and "multiple (me)" with the forehead, mouth, and eyes being labeled in different shades. The text around the characters reads "All these people have some kind of paralysis on their face. Before actually drawing a character, you need to pick what part of their face is paralyzed and how much. Having your whole face completely paralyzed is really rare. Weakness on one side of the face is the most common. You probably saw someone with it since it's very common after a stroke". Another block of text in the corner reads "If you have a simpler artstyle, paralysis of the eyes and/or mouth is the easiest to show. Jaw or forehead are more subtle (usually)".
Third slide, titled "Ok, but how do I draw it? (With asymmetry, mainly)". There is a drawing of a man with Bell's palsy, captioned "I will be doing examples showing unilateral (one sided) paralysis to showcase this since it will be easier to show the differences". In the top right are two drawings, one in anime style and other in a western cartoon one. The text box reads "While I encourage to try out multiple options, focus on the features that are more important in your artstyle. Big eyes? Focus on ptosis. Big mouths? Focus on lopsided smiles, etc. Otherwise it can look out of place". The main section of the slide is titled "Upper third of the face". There are simple drawings to accompany the text. It reads "paralysis on the forehead: it looks like one-sided botox essentially. The wrinkles will be weaker or non existent. Paralysis of the eyebrow: moves less. It rests lower than the other eyebrow and can have a crease under. Eyelid paralysis (arguably the most common one): generalyl affects the upper eyelid. It rests lower and has less or no movement". There is a drawing of a pair of eyes, where one is so closed the iris is invisible. Text reads "Note: paralysis very frequently comes with strabismus. Severe ptosis+hypertropia can look like the eye is just white. The iris can be hidden like that". Another text box to another drawing reads "it does get a bit trickier in angles that don't show both sides of the face; IMO focusing on strabismus+eyebrows pointing down is the easiest way to get it across". In the bottom left is a diagram showing different eyes with increasing severities of paralysis. Text reads "As a rule of thumb, more severe paralysis = eyelid rests lower. Here you can see how much of the eye could show".
Fourth slide, titled "Eyes specifically since people tend to put more detail into them than the rest of the face". The "First step" has 2 characters with unaligned eyes, titled "Step 1: give them strabismus (easy)". Below that are examples of eyes with strabismus, captioned "literally just draw the eyes to be unaligned. Inward, outward, up, down, etc.". Step two is titled "Don't make it into the most unfunny joke possible (very hard)". It shows two characters, one having a very exaggerated strabismus and the other having a more realistic one combined with a falling eyelid. The first character is crossed out, and is saying "I'm stupid because I look weird haha (laugh)", while the second character has the checker mark and is saying "I have a personality trait that is not related to having an eye condition". The text below the step 2 reads "Not every person with facial paralysis will have strabismus but a lot do and I never see that in drawings". In the bottom right is a designated square with a character who has significant hypertropia and slightly red eyes. The text reads "rarely, people will be unable to close their eyes rather than the other way around. I meant to put it on the previous slide but I ran out of space".
Fifth slide, titled "mouth and smiling". There is a simple drawing of a man with bell's palsy smiling, there are red lines illustrating how the smile is lopsided and pulls towards the nonparalyzed side. There is another "correct/incorrect" demonstration with the incorrect one, labeled "not how faces work", having their face essentially halved, with one side smiling widely and one actively frowning, and the correct one, labeled "it just pulls to the nonparalyzed side", smiling normally on one side and having a neutral/relaxed expression on the other. The incorrect one has additional text box: "if it looks like the ancient Greek theatre mask, stop. I couldn't do this really downward frown on my paralyzed side even if I wanted to. You need to be able to move your face for that...". At the bottom of the slide are two drawings of the same character smiling; he has bell's palsy in one but not the other, highlighting the differences. The text reads "There are other things that can also be affected but smiling is the main one, especially for drawing. What is not affected are like, jaw muscles. Someone can have problem with that as well but it will be from something else". The rest reads: "A lot of people will overdo smiling so that other people can actually tell they're smiling and essentially do a really wide smile on just one side of the face. So things like gums showing, nose skewing to the side, lower eyelid going up, lip being thinner on the smiling side, etc.". There is a colored disclaimer "also a disclaimer (in case that's not clear): not all people with facial paralysis have it visible on their eyes. I do it here so that you can easily tell which side is supposed to be affected".
Sixth slide, titled "have fun smile emoji". It features a Hindu woman in a powerchair, a Black man walking with a cane, a Brown girl posing, and a white guy looking stern. The first two are captioned "Most people have facial paralysis because of a stroke/traumatic brain injury and a lot will have other disabilities". The girl is captioned "Some people are born like this also. You can draw people with facial differences as pretty people BTW, it's allowed". The last character is drawn with a straight line scar going through his eye. He is captioned "if you're giving your scarred OC #3743 this fuckass scar then at least give them nerve damage like get real LMAO. He would not be fucking ablebodied". While the main drawing doesn't show the character with any sort of paralysis, there's a smaller one where his eyelid and eyebrow are clearly paralyzed. There is another box of text in the corner reading "We are also just normal people and yous on;t have to name your OC with bell's palsy some combination of "half-face" or whatever the fuck".

Tutorial on drawing characters/OCs who have some sort of facial paralysis. It doesn't cover all possible variants because I was using mirror as my main reference lawl

Keep in mind that this is an introductory drawing tutorial and has some generalizations in it, so not every β€œX is Z” statement will be true for Actual People πŸ‘
