Standing Alone In The Dirt
standing alone in the dirt
a single orchid bloom
among the rubble
pushed just out of reach
stuck under the permafrost
clawing hands try to break through
the weeds pricking skin
blood aching to spill
teetering on the edge of
light and dark
life and death
but who cares anyway?
