Arizona school district puts an anti-abortion, pro-abstinence sticker in every biology textbook 

Late last year, the Alliance Defending Freedom — a religious and conservative advocacy group — bombarded the Gilbert, Arizona, public school board demanding several pages be removed from an honors biology textbook. While doing so would have violated copyright law, the school found another solution: Stickers. The worst part though? The content the Alliance Defending Freedom took issue with is medically accurate information.

i think the Steven Universe wiki got hacked or something. someone did something to it. now, whenever you try to go on any if its page, it will redirect to a page called “IT’S ME” that features a very loud sound and a huge close-up of “Golden Freddy” from FNAF.

so yeah, don’t go on the Steven Universe Wiki right now. i checked several other wikis and it appears that someone went out of their way to vandalize the SU wiki, as none of the other wikis i visited had this issue. i also believe that this “jump scare” effects EVERY PAGE ON THE WIKI. so unless you’re feelin’ brave, be careful and i would recommend not browsing it right now. i don’t know if anyone is even aware of this yet.

shame on whoever did that. you could genuinely terrify or hurt someone. i don’t know if it was a joke or what but it sure as fuck wasn’t a good thing to do, joke or not.

From someone who worked at starbucks. If you have a milk/dairy allergy AT ALL. DO NOT. I repeat. DO NOT. Drink Pumpkin Spice.

It contains dairy IN the syrup that is used to make the drink. Even if you get it made with soy, you will still be getting doses of dairy in there. 

Depending on the severity and intolerance it can and will cause reactions. I found that as a barista I was constantly warning people about the dairy in the product. No one ever seemed to tell them that there was dairy in the mix. More times than I can count I heard people realize that’s why they kept having reactions, or that’s why it made them sick.

People legitimately do not know that pumpkin spice no matter what you do will always contain some amount of dairy.

On thursday (october 22nd, 2015) the worst terrorist attack in Sweden since 1940 occurred. A right-wing extremist armed with a sword and knives marched into a school and systematically attacked people of color. A student and a teacher died, and another student and a teacher are currently in intensive care.

The terrorist was open about his extremist right-wing views. He was racist, islamophobic and inspired by the anti-immigration discourse that is currently happening nationwide in Sweden. The terrorist was shot by police during the attack and died. I will not say his name, nor upload his picture. He does not deserve the attention. However, I will say that there’s been two severe terrorist attacks in scandinavia in the past few years (this one, in Trollhättan, and then the one in Norway that was carried out in 2011), and they have both been perpetrated by right-wing extremist white men.

Teacher Lavin Eskandar was one of the victims of the terrorist. He attempted to stop the attacker in order to protect the students that were in his care. Lavin was 20 years old, had recently graduated and aspired to work with media. Had he not reacted as quickly as he did, it is likely that more students would’ve gotten injured or had been killed.

I lack words to talk about this properly. Whenever news updates appear, I start crying all over again. This is what hate breeds. There is no such thing as “hate in moderation” or “it’s just words”. When a hateful and racist rethoric is spread online and in media it will inspire people to do horrible things. It will inspire hateful actions. It will inspire terrorism. Children and teachers are dead because the politicians and the media couldn’t get their shit together and stand up to the extremist right-wing discourse that is sweeping the nation. It should never have come to this.

Despite my sorrow, I try to write about this anyway. It’s important that people in other countries know what happened.
