okay actually I'm going to make a separate post about this because too many people ignore it on all my other posts. When referring to Aboriginal peoples (First Nations peoples of so-called Australia), you ALWAYS capitalise the A because we are a PEOPLE, proper noun. SECONDLY, "aboriginies" "abo" and any use of a phrase ending in "caste" ie part-caste, half-caste, etc ARE SLURS. DO NOT USE THEM. If you see other Aboriginal peoples using these words, it's ours to reclaim and not permission for you to use. Finally, Aboriginal people are Black and refer to ourselves as such, regardless of blood quantum. That is a fact, non-negotiable for 100s of years. It's not complicated. When in doubt just call us First Nations, or Aboriginal people (with a capital A) because that's who we are. Again, please respect Aboriginal peoples.

Do not really know what to say. A year ago we were making posts about how Gaza was being bombed through Christmas- how the oldest Christian community was being bombed- how the birth place of Jesus was being destroyed and his people murdered. A year later, it is going to be Christmas again soon, and the bombings have not stopped. But the news, and the attention seems to have died down considerably. It feels terrible and scary.

Baby Ayla has a severe ear infection. She is in terrible pain and is very lethargic. She requires antibiotics and other medications to treat her infection, as well as vitamins that will help support healthy growth. If she cannot receive these treatments, Ayla will probably have to have surgery on her ear!!!

Horrifyingly, inflation caused by the IOF siege means that it will cost $2500 USD to procure these treatments. The family simply does not have this money, and cannot attain it without you.

Ayla needs this medication ASAP, before her condition worsens. Her mother Bashaer @bshaeromars-blog is heartbroken and terrified, she has never seen Ayla in such a poor state. PLEASE help her get treatment for her baby!!!

Little Joan needs surgery!!!

Joan Al-Habil is has been repeatedly hospitalized due to severe gastrointestinal problems and overwhelming fatigue. This poor girl has been to multiple facilities and seen multiple doctors, undergone extensive testing (as extensive as is possible in Gaza’s collapsed medical system), even having to endure an unsedated endoscopy, which I know from personal experience is extremely uncomfortable.

She has now been diagnosed with severe gastritis due to starvation and hazardous living conditions. Remember, she and her family are living on the streets, which are cold and wet due to winter rain. Homelessness, stress, exposure to the elements, her previous injury when the IOF firebombed her tent, and malnutrition all conspire to sap little Joan of her strength.

Her condition is so serious that she now requires surgery. Gastritis very rarely requires surgery to treat, so this is an indication of how dire her situation is. In addition to surgery, she is going to need treatment to manage her symptoms.

The cost of this is very very high. One consultation alone cost $650 USD. Joan’s family is going to need your support to pay for her treatment.

Please, this little girl is in so much pain and misery. Her parents are watching her waste away as her condition worsens daily.
