i think the parallels between winter and darkstalker weren't quite delved into as much as i'd have liked tbh

like. you have these two angry characters with an unhappy childhood (from the same family) who lost their loved ones (foeslayer and hailstorm) and unjustifiably blamed it on an entire kingdom (icewings and nightwings), causing them to harbor hatred toward said kingdoms.

though winter eventually grew out of that mindset while darkstalker never learned, almost implying that darkstalker was never justified in what he did even with tragic backstory in place 😳
