hxh ep 85: “gon, you are light”

this episode was just so heartbreaking but so good. killua loves gon so much. while killua thinks of how unqualified and weak he is, there’s gon being a positive force of energy. and killua doesn’t believe he deserves it. oh my god this scene destroyed me. killua felt so much guilt over what he did even though it was in their best interest AND kite wanted them to go. killua beats himself up over his decision and gon responds with kindness. THIS EPISODE WAS JUST SO WELL DONE AND WELL WRITTEN I CAN NOT GET OVER IT. i watched it last night and i'm STILL thinking about it.

this arc was very stressful for me, especially with how many powerful antagonists we had this arc. but, there was also a lot of funny moments with bon clay & ivan so i thought it was balanced. seeing how hard luffy fought to save ace was very emotional for me. as well as how ace was worried about luffy being in danger BECAUSE he wanted to save ace. the love these two brothers have for each other is so important and it breaks my heart seeing them upset about the other’s struggles. i’m glad luffy was able to escape impel down. i hope he’s able to see ace and help him before everything gets worse.

i love this art of the dragons together so much. kusanagi is so talented. they all look so soft and beautiful and so comfortable with each other. i miss them so much and getting art of them together makes me so happy! i hope we get to see all of them again in the manga <3

i finished alabasta saga!! alabasta arc is 100% my fav arc so far!! so much fun, the story was amazing, the writing was great

i loved meeting ace! he was so much better than i expected! i knew he was a fan favorite but he was so much sweeter and kinder than i thought he would be!

robin’s character is very interesting to me & i’m excited she has joined the straw hats! i have always wanted to see more of her and i’m hoping i get more info on her soon!

vivi is amazing! her character was so beautiful & i felt myself get more invested in the story because of how strongly she felt about her situation. i hope we get to see her again one day!

this saga was so much fun! i switched between the manga & anime and i thought it was the best way for me! i’m so excited to see what comes next!
