The State Of Affairs In Palestine, 10/23/23

As others have mentioned, the purpose of Israel banning UNRWA has nothing to do with Hamas or October 7th. It has everything to do with cutting off Palestinians from an international institution that, along with vital aid, provides legal recognition of their right of return. All factions within Israeli politics are committed to erasing the connection of Palestinians to their homeland, promoting instead a racial-supremacist vision of a greater Israel purified of Arab 'savages'. This move, enabled by the Israeli Knesset, is just another expression of that life-destroying vision.

To all compassionate hearts,

I am Heba, a mother of three children, currently living in Deir al-Balah after our home was destroyed by the occupation. Our situation is extremely difficult, as we are living in a tent and suffering from the high costs of war.

Safaa is studying to be a lawyer and is mother to baby Amir. Since the bombardment began, her husband Mohammed has lost his job at the university and thus their livelihood. Safaa’s father has suffered a stroke and her mother-in-law suffers from inadequately treated diabetes.

This family has lost everything; they have been forced by the occupation to live in a tent, not knowing where their next meal will come from, the water is not safe, and the approaching winter compounds these problems.

Safaa is raising money to get her family out of Gaza so they can continue living and pursue their dreams. Every donation counts, a small donation can help get pampers and milk for Amir or feed the family. As of writing, Safaa is 48% towards their goal. It feels like everyone has gone full mask off and just stopped bringing attention to this entirely - but a lot of detainees you advocated for one year ago are still detained today. Still facing the same conditions of squalor & torture & being indefinitely separated from their loved ones. The stats on Palestinian detainees are still as bad as they’ve ever been.
