Whumpee/Living Weapon who was trained for a lot of different purposes. They can fight, they can lie, they can interrogate and torture, they can charm just about anyway. They know exactly how to get information out of people. Giving up their body is just a simple part of that.
But every time they do so, they go on auto-pilot. They often do, during torture, during fights, during sex. They just check out, floating somewhere else while their body does what it needs to do.
Years later, they are free. And they are living a somewhat normal life, although they're still a bit stoic. But they're doing... okay. All things considered.
They get into a relationship, maybe with someone who knows what they were. And sex is part of that. It's not much of a question for Living Weapon. They like their partner, they want them, and they know their partner wants them, too. They know exactly what to do, what to say, how to move, how to act.
And every time they do so, they disassociate.
But they're good at it. At playing the part. So it takes a while for their partner to notice. But when they do, they instantly stop, pulling back, and trying to get Living Weapon back to them. "Hey," they say. "Come back, LW. What's going on?"
They slowly get them back to their body, making Living Weapon gasp as they're pulled back, not really understanding what's happening.
They talk about it, and their partner realizes with horror that Living Weapon has been doing this since the start. "This is how it always is. It's normal." They say. It's not, their partner wants to sob. It's really not.
Maybe Living Weapon leaves, or breaks down. Being hit with the realization that what they've been doing isn't normal. That they're broken. They knew it, they knew they were messed up and wrong and they've never been normal- but they never thought much about this, and now their partner knows and-
In the end, Living Weapon and their partner talk about it. Maybe they try something new, start slow, trying to keep Whumpee in the moment. Each time they start to float, their partner pulls them back. "Hey, stay with me, LW."
And for the first time, Living Weapon does. They're in the moment, they feel it.
They don't do much, yet Living Weapon still ends up overwhelmed, and they start crying. The touch, the positive, caring, loving touch, it breaks them. Their partner just holds them.
But it's not bad. They're healing. They're happy.
Dear followers, today I offer you: this bullshit
Tomorrow: who knows
Every now and again, Noelle breaks things.
Not as in she accidentally snaps a pencil or messes up when fixing a grapple, though that does happen, when Noelle breaks things on purpose it’s… a lot.
omg pleaseeee make the living weapon comfort prompts
Okay I will! ^_^
Living Weapon Hurt Prompts, from last time
So, how do you comfort someone who has been taught not to even view themselves as anything more than a tool for violence?
Caretaker shows whumpee the everyday parts of life - going to the movies, baking cookies together, going grocery shopping, etc. This is especially important if they never had a childhood.
Caretaker encourages whumpee to get a regular, civilian job, or better yet, pursue the dreams were forced to give up.
Caretaker reminds whumpee that their own pain matters. When they get injured or sick, they can take a day off. They're allowed painkillers. It's not about whether they can stand up and keep fighting efficiently, it's about their comfort.
Whumpee confesses the full extent of what they were forced to do. They've never told anyone this before and break down while talking about it.
Caretaker reframes what happened, points out the abuse that they couldn't see at the time, and reassures them that it was not their fault.
Caretaker praises whumpee for showing emotion, for acting gentle, for singing, for showing weakness. In those moments, Caretaker protects whumpee from anyone who would judge them.
Caretaker is very careful about how they move and how they touch whumpee, because whumpee can panic if it feels like someone is about to put them in a chokehold, pull a gun, etc.
Caretaker supports whumpee through nightmares and flashbacks, even if whumpee becomes aggressive in that half-aware state.
Whumpee visits the people they've hurt or the families of those they've killed, and tries to make amends in some small way. It's not enough, nothing could ever be enough, but they are forgiven anyway.
"I love you no matter what you've done. You want to know the honest truth? Even if you were really, deep down, responsible for all of it...I'd still love you."
Caretaker trusts whumpee with tasks that require gentleness, like babysitting, teaching, healing, or leadership roles.
When someone expresses that they don't trust whumpee or that whumpee should be punished, Caretaker chews them out privately. "They're not dangerous. They were being controlled. The things they did...that's not who they are."
Whumpee is afraid that their conditioning is too strong to break, so Caretaker promises to restrain whumpee if they act dangerously. "But I know you won't. I trust you."
Whumpee DOES get triggered and get violent, but Caretaker assures them that they haven't lost their progress. They are still getting better, it just takes time.
Living weapon PTSD
Content: punishment aftermath, scars
(stoic whumpee vibes)
Sees someone pick up a long thin object, immediately winces and takes a rigid, chin-up posture like a soldier in line
Or (if severely triggered) yanks off their shirt in one fluid motion, turns and faces the wall, bracing their hands against it for support
If they see a weapon they watch it, and whoever has it, like a hawk
Trying to figure out who's in charge no matter what situation they're in. Using a formal tone with them even if they're TRYING to just be normal
Tensing up around people that act/speak like whumper. They don't want to embarrass themselves by flinching every five seconds so they're just going to flex every muscle until they are gone.
Self aware of their stiff posture. Sitting down and forcing themselves to relax into a couch and put on a fake smile
Caretaker seeing their scars and covering their mouth.
In that event, whumpee flushing and covering them because they're still ashamed of "earning" the punishments that left those marks
Or if they're from combat, smiling and telling the story proudly because they made their owner proud that day and they weren't punished
Trying to explain what happened and then suddenly going quiet
Answering questions like they're being interrogated by a superior
Refusing to speak because they're flashing back to a time they were interrogated in an enemy compound
i think it takes a while for them to talk about everything
i love thinking about body language esp with these two, i think when they first try to be there for each other they keep their hands to themselves lmaoo.
deku is so stubborn and loves to pretend he's fine so he's not gonna go in for a hug (which is why he hugs himself) but also, he needs some contact when he's anxious so he kind of leans into bakugo and they just sit like that for a while they're so unserious.
i think bakugo is even worse (he lovess to shove his hands into his pockets) and needs to be pulled into some physical contact (he needs it too when he feels queasy).
i like to draw them hugging and such but i think it takes a while for them to get there as teens, eventually they're familiar enough with each other's body language to know when the protest against being pulled into a hug is serious or not and they would respect each other's boundaries <3
Living weapon whumpees who do as they're ordered but hate every moment of it and let everyone else know that they hate it. They complain and make comments under their breath. They drag their feet to their missions and make themselves as irritating as possible, often getting slapped around for their "smartass" behavior. They make their trainer's life as difficult as possible, knowing it will earn them solitary confinement and a bruised face. They show up to missions with a black eye and tightly stitched wounds. They finish the missions, efficiently even, but they wince when they breathe in too deeply.
They're hanging on to what remains of their identity with everything that's in them.
Until that too, is taken.
