The League is eating ice cream like after Tomura was stuffed into that tube for his Nomu upgrade. His nerves and brain are still not entirely okay.
Tomura: *blowing on the ice*
Dabi: What the FUK are you doing?
Tomura: I don't know....my brain...food...
Dabi just straight up laughs at him until he gets a brain freeze from eating his too fast. And he complains about it and is basically just creating his own drama show.
Tomura: There there... *shoulder pats with half hand half machine hand*
Dabi: motherfucking ice cream *offended on a personal level*
Spinner will always have a tail for me and night vision. He deserves some love and attention. He can wield his giant mutant swords with his super strength and a cool dagger with his tail. He would have been the best. Imagine some lizard guy climbing up random buildings while carrying the entire League like they are just a bunch of grapes. And the hydrophobic skin is just a cool extra. But then the question would be if it were just a party trick or actually useful with him being human shaped aka a mutant and probably needing clothes (Big Probably cause I feel like he could also use his shed as amour like Mirio with his hair suit. That would be so so cool.
Now I can't stop thinking about him making raincoats out of his shed and probably gifting one to Toga so her nice jacket doesn't get ruined.
if you've seen my posts you would know that I have a soft spot for animal quirks, especially reptilian ones, so when i saw just how badly hori fumbled the potential of spinners quirk, I was ready to blow a fucking gasket.
For staters, here is a real gecko
And here is spinner
Spinner doesn't remsemble a gecko in the slightest, if anything he looks more like curt connors from the first spider man cartoon got his tail cut off permantly, wore a troll doll wig, and then decided to dress like a ninja.
The other problem comes from the fact that spinner only ability is wall crawling.
Are you serious.
You know what, just to spite hori, I've decided to list out all the gecko abilities that spinner should have gotten
Super strength: geckos setae arent just good for climbing they get also grant superhuman strength in allowing the user to bench 300 times their weight. This would been perfect for spinner since after muscular and nomu were gone, the league didnt have any real physical powerhouses on the team.
super speed: the worlds fastest gecko is the namib gecko, which can run appromixately 118 times its body length in one second, now imagine a human running that speed, honestly this would fit in well with someone who shtick is being a ninja.
cat like reflexes: you the old saying, "cats land on their feet"? Well same thing applies to gecko as well. They can use their tails to make sure they always land feet first. Again, perfect ability for a ninja
prehensile tail: imagine spinner wielding a sword with his tail, hell yeah.
Night vision: would have a good addition considering spinners debut was a night in a forest.
Camoflauge: also fits with the ninja motif of stealth and speed.
Foul smelling liquid: the golden tailed gecko can shoot a nasty smelling oil from its tail. This would work well ahainst heros like hound dog with enhanced smell.
Sonic bark: a tokay gecko can bark at 50 db, a man sized gecko could paralyze someone with their bark, gang orca style.
hydrophobic skin: any water attacks from heroes like wash and manuel would just bounce right off him, oh and it would let him walk on water.
Light answers a tough question
Not all venom fans are monster fuckers đ some of us are just aroace disasters who like the idea of a platonic soulmate who likes to murder annoying people for you, is that so bad?
Same Shiggy. Same, some people just need to die
mon chan come back
I believe firmly that Dabi would definitely bitch about doing a job and just annoy Tomura so much about how he forces him to do a job. And complains about doing the job, using every fiber of his burnt body to make sure everyone knows how annoyed he is and how much he doesn't want to do it. And then he executes the job perfectly. And after that goes on with a rant of how good he was and annoying Tomura more with how much of a genius he is for doing something a certain way. And when Tomura asked why he was bitching about it in the beginning he just gives a half assed answer. And all the annoy his dear boss and to be as dramatic as humanly possible.
when somethingâs kinda rad, but not too rad
I'd fucking retire dude are you kidding me
I think itâs fair to dislike BNHA ending.
However when I see posts saying they donât like it because neither Hawks nor Endeavor ended up in jail I think itâs important to remember that, in Japan, when BNHA was written:
Law enforcers can murder escaping criminals provided said criminals were judged dangerous enough (just so you know Japan had been asked to revise its domestic legislation on police use of firearms to ensure it complies with international law because currently it still doesnât).
Although domestic violence is forbidden by 2001, Japanese law does not provide for domestic violence in terms of prosecutorial considerations. At the time BNHA took place the police wasnât even obliged to investigate when âdomestic disputesâ were reported, and the most they would do was offer counseling. The law has been changed in 2024 and things are a little better (even though Japanese law STILL does not provide for domestic violence in terms of prosecutorial considerations police is encouraged to investigate and the court may consider to impose penalties for crimes related to domestic violence aka assault and injury), but Japanese women still complain that, despite the improvements, itâs extremely hard to have their abusers punished.
Parents were banned from physically punishing their children solely in 2019 (BNHA started in 2014, Vol 21 was still printed in 2018, meaning the Todoroki saga was established PRIOR to this) following several fatal cases of abuse dealt out in the name of discipline however Japanese law does not provide for this in terms of prosecutorial considerations. The most that will be done is to take the children away if they fear for their life.
Abusive training (which includes beating, name calling, humiliation, overworkingâŚ) is not forbidden (although guidelines recommend not to do it) and, of course, as a consequence, Japanese law does not provide for abusive training in terms of prosecutorial considerations. People are protesting about this (notable protests had been done during the Olympic games) as people had also committed suicide over this. By the end of BNHA as far as I know, nothing was done.
Children of third-year elementary school age and below can be left unsupervised. A 2023 attempt at changing it due to unsupervised children dying was met with severe criticism nationwide so that in the end nothing was done.
Arranged marriages (as in parents picking up a candidate for their child to marry) are legal. The children have however the power to refuse a partner presented to them by the parents. Also, when organizing an arranged marriage itâs fair for both parts to investigate the other party and check if the family doesnât have undesirable genetic traits (mental illness cases, lack of pure Japanese blood, relations with people belonging to group considered impure) so that the children wonât inherit them.
Now, I oversimplified what are in truth a lot of regulations and rules expressed by the laws and compared Hero training to sport training but, long story short, Enji and Hawks donât escape jail because theyâre rich, because theyâre high in ranking, because they have connections or bribed someone. Itâs just because law doesnât consider punishing them and law wouldnât punish them even if they were commoners like, letâs say, Kotarou or Himikoâs parents.
Also, Horikoshi is basically showing the negative consequences of all the above mentioned points, which can be viewed as a subtle way to criticize such things.
So, again, itâs fine if you hate BNHA ending, but please, donât think Horikoshi is just letting those guys break law without consequences just because. If they donât end in jail for such things itâs exactly because people normally donât do it and thatâs why weâve the League criticizing society for how wrong it is, not just their abusive parents. Society enabled the abuse and you might very well see the League as a representation for the Toyoko Kids and the JĹhatsu.
Also, just in case, I'm not Japanese and just saying Japanese law doesn't think they should be punished, doesn't mean I agree. Just that I don't expect the story would follow my country's law.
If you want to know more about Japanese law please, research about them. It'll give you a better perspective on why some things in BNHA go the way they go.
I am fucking dying
