"If I had waited, nothing would have happened - Nothing would have gone the way I wanted" reminds me a lot of the inner thoughts Sonic had at the beginning of the fic, where he didn't want to take initiative because he was too chicken to ask Shadow directly about his feelings. Then we have him getting corrupted, becoming a bit more impulsive, and he realizes that without this change he wouldn't have gotten what he wanted. 'Nothing would have happened'.

One thing I've always loved about Bill Cipher is the kind of body horror he handles, for the same reason that it's a series for children, they never put anything too explicit…BUT!- The fact that he finds pain “fun” and thanks to the content of the book gives me a lot of ideas.
