This started as a 1-hour challenge. I managed to do the line art and colors in under 40 minutes. But shading was the real challenge… the shading and editing took about 5 hours? I'm being generous about the time here really… so yeah. somewhat happy with it.

HELLLLOOOO I DID NOT EXPECT THIS???? THIS IS ACTUALLY SO CUTE!! YOU DREW THEM SO AGHHHHH I love that saiko is treating kubos wounds (probably, trying his best to, at least jsjsj), but they are so adorable :') I saw this earlier but I couldn't reply to it 😔

kuboyasu and saiko childhood au (?)

I was thinking, what if they accidentally meet when saiko and his father visit kuboyasus hometown for business inquiries for 3 weeks. saiko sneaks out and gets lost, stumbling upon the peasant area, and finds kuboyasu. they eventually started to meet up nearly every day and bond. (with saiko still being as stubborn as ever, of course) but one of his servants/maids found out and stopped him from going out to see a peasant. but that didn't stop him, though. when he did try to go see kuboyasu, he wasn't anywhere to be seen. it's been a few days, and saiko was going to give up until he found kuboyasu laying all bloody and bruised up -- fluff and angsttt??!

I really wanted to draw today (despite feeling exhausted this week), so I finally had time and energy to draw the punk! >:D
