KiriSetsu Week - Day 2!!

Day 2 - Heartbeat
“Kiri, do you hear that?” Setsuna’s face became plastered with worry as she held her boyfriend’s hand tighter.
“Don’t worry, babe, I’m sure it’s just an animal.”
“But-”
There was another scurrying sound again, but was quickly followed with a crash of metal cans and a soft yelp.
“It’s coming from over there!” Setsuna let go of Kirishima’s hand.
“Setsu, wait!” But it was no use; Setsuna had already ran to a wad of dumpsters and crouched down for a better look. There was sympathy in her eyes.
“Kiri, come look!” Kirishima walked to his girlfriend and looked to where she was pointing. A small puppy cowered underneath heaps of trash. “The poor thing! We need to help it!”
“Setsu,” Kirishima wanted to protest; there was no way they’d be able to handle a puppy. Even if it were a well behaved one, puppies were pricey, and with all the hero work they both had in their daily lives gave up no time for taking care of a puppy. But he knew that his girlfriend wouldn’t take no for an answer, so much that she’d work her way around it...
Kirishima then made up his mind. “Setsuna-”
And at that point, he took too long. Setsuna was already holding the puppy as if it were her own child. It was a white collie pup with black and beige spots, and with bright blue eyes...
Yes, it was adorable. But Kirishima knew that he had to tell Setsuna sooner or later.
“Kiri, come feel it’s heartbeat!” Setsuna held her hand on the puppy’s chest. Kirishima placed his hand on the pup’s warm fur and felt it’s heart race.
Ba-dum! Ba-dum! Ba-dum!
Kirishima sighed, the poor thing was quite frightened...
Fine. They could only keep it for a few nights. Then, they’ll make up their minds on what to do with it.
But not so long afterwards, when Setsuna and Kiri got to their apartment, Setsuna wasn’t the only one rubbing the pup’s belly...

Day 3 - Heatbreat
Melissa laid awake in her shared bed. She could hear the faint thumping of her lover’s heartbeat pound inside her chest. It was faster than usual, but she was still grateful. I mean - Nejire’s heart beating a little faster than normal was better than her heart not beating at all, right? Melissa shuddered at the hideous thought - why did you have to think that, Melissa? She sighed, insomniatic.
Nejire suddenly turned to her side, her breathing also turning heavier.
“Nejire?” Melissa’s curiosity began kicking in.
“No...” then, it transformed to worry.
“Nejire?”
“No...”
“Nejire!”
“Gah!” Nejire sprung upright, panting. “Oh, Melissa,” she attempted to get her breathing in check. “Did I wake you up.”
“No, I was already awake,” assured Melissa, forcefully stifling a yawn. “You were breathing heavily and muttering ‘no,’ so I got a little worried.”
Nejire smiled, “I was having a nightmare, sorry.”
“There’s nothing to be sorry about, sweetie.” Melissa put her hand on her shoulder, “do you want to talk about it?”
“I’d rather not, I just hope I forget it.”
“Understandable.”
Nejire grinned, “what isn’t understandable to you? You’re a scientist, you know everything.”
“Someone who knows everything once knew nothing, or maybe just very little.”
“Well, I’m tired,” Nejire let out a big yawn and slumped down onto her pillow, “I’m going back to sleep.”
“That was sudden,” laughed Melissa, laying down next to her and pulling her into a warm hug.
“Goodnight, Neji. Sweet dreams.”
“Night, Melissa. You too.”

Day 6 - Role Swap AU
“Alright, Melissa.” Ryukyu began, leading Melissa down the hallway, “ready to meet the person you’ll be working with for the next six months?”
“Ready as ever.” Smiled Melissa, butterflies fluttered in her stomach. She didn’t know why she felt so nervous... or was she excited?
“Good.” Ryukyu came to a stop. “Melissa Shield,” she opened the door, “meet Nejire Hado!” But before Melissa could even smile at her new partner, Nejire ran up to her and hugged her tightly.
“Hey there, I’m Nejire! I’m super excited to start working with you! Say, what’s your quirk? What are these things supposed to be for? Do they amplify your quirk? What is your quirk, anyway? Wait, did I already ask that?”
Startled, Melissa glanced at Ryukyu, who just merely smiled. “I’ll be out for a little while, girls,” Ryukyu said, “have fun. And don’t blow anything up, Nejire.”
“Yes, ma’am!” Nejire saluted with pride.
“So, what do you want to do first?” Asked Melissa. “N-Nejire?” Nejire was nowhere to be seen. “I swear I saw her saluting in front of me two seconds ago...”
“Right behind ya!”
“Oh!” Melissa jumped in surprise. “How...?”
“What does your quirk do, anyway?”
“Uh, the thing is, I don’t have one.”
“Whoa... so all these gadgets are for enhancing your physical abilities?”
“Yep, pretty much.”
“That’s so cool! Can I design you even better ones?”
“Uh, I dunno... s-sure?”
And that was the moment, Melissa knew, she made the best mistake in her life. Because not only did Nejire blow something up, but their partnership gave her nothing more but a spark of gratitude.
