Iida gulped before the large doors that read ‘Development Studio.’ This could only go chaotic, knowing Mei…

He pushed the door open and walked inside with his gift hidden behind him. He scanned the room for the pink haired girl and found her working away at a student’s costume.

He snuck up behind her, “Mei?”

The girl whirled around, “Hi Iida!” She gave him a quizzical look, “what’re you hiding?”

“Uh…” he revealed the gift, “merry Christmas.”

She blinked, “for me?”

“Yes.”

She took the gift and took off the wrapping paper. “You got me a toolbox?”

“I heard you saying you needed one, so I figured I’d get one for you.” Iida rubbed the back of his neck, “I left a receipt in there in case you don’t like it. I got it at-”

“I LOVE IT!!” Mei flung herself at Iida and hugged him.

Iida blushed, “I’m glad you do.” He gingerly patted her back till she let go.

“Do you wanna see the Christmas present I made for you?”

Made. That word only lead to havoc.

“Sure…”

Mei disappeared for a few seconds. Iida could hear clanking and banging, as if Mei was rummaging through something.

But she wasn’t. Iida couldn’t have been more wrong as he stared, dumbfounded, at the largest robot stomping towards him.

“Isn’t he cool?!”

“How did you make that thing?” Iida awed at the machine - his head nearly bent all the way back from how tall it was.

“One time you told me you liked Transformers,” Mei explained, “so I made one for you.”

Iida only blinked. “This is incredible, Mei…”

Mei climbed down from the robot and smiled at him, “merry Christmas!” And headed back to her work station.

MeliNeji Week, Day 6!

I wasn’t sure how to exactly execute this prompt, so I tried my somewhat best to make it sound okay.

Day 6 - Role Swap AU

“Alright, Melissa.” Ryukyu began, leading Melissa down the hallway, “ready to meet the person you’ll be working with for the next six months?”

“Ready as ever.” Smiled Melissa, butterflies fluttered in her stomach. She didn’t know why she felt so nervous... or was she excited?

“Good.” Ryukyu came to a stop. “Melissa Shield,” she opened the door, “meet Nejire Hado!” But before Melissa could even smile at her new partner, Nejire ran up to her and hugged her tightly.

“Hey there, I’m Nejire! I’m super excited to start working with you! Say, what’s your quirk? What are these things supposed to be for? Do they amplify your quirk? What is your quirk, anyway? Wait, did I already ask that?”

Startled, Melissa glanced at Ryukyu, who just merely smiled. “I’ll be out for a little while, girls,” Ryukyu said, “have fun. And don’t blow anything up, Nejire.”

“Yes, ma’am!” Nejire saluted with pride.

“So, what do you want to do first?” Asked Melissa. “N-Nejire?” Nejire was nowhere to be seen. “I swear I saw her saluting in front of me two seconds ago...”

“Right behind ya!”

“Oh!” Melissa jumped in surprise. “How...?”

“What does your quirk do, anyway?”

“Uh, the thing is, I don’t have one.”

“Whoa... so all these gadgets are for enhancing your physical abilities?”

“Yep, pretty much.”

“That’s so cool! Can I design you even better ones?”

“Uh, I dunno... s-sure?”

And that was the moment, Melissa knew, she made the best mistake in her life. Because not only did Nejire blow something up, but their partnership gave her nothing more but a spark of gratitude.

I tried to make this one wholesome, but I don’t know if I did a very good job, but anyways...

I also semi-managed to make this one a bit longer because of how short the other ones were, so... yeah.

Day 6 - Free Day

“But going back to what I was saying earlier,” Melissa took a big gulp of her hot chocolate, “ when rain falls down from the clouds, it freezes due to the very cold temperature, given that it’s winter.”

“Huh...” Nejire also took a sip of her drink, “I guess you really do learn something new everyday.”

With the trigger of the cliché bell ding, the café doors opened for a new customer, and a chilling block of air wafted towards Melissa and Nejire, the both of them shivering in response.

“I’m not really used to this cold,” said Melissa, “it never snowed at I-Island.”

“Bummer.” Replied Nejire.

“Bummer?” Melissa perked up, “how?”

Nejire took another delightful sip of her beverage. “Well, for starters,” she began, “you can build a snowarmy.”

“A snowarmy?” Repeated Melissa, “don’t you mean a snowman?”

“No, a snowarmy.” Nejire took another sip, “they’re good company to have around, and are very handy in snowball fights.”

“How so?”

“They can be used as barriers,” explained Nejire, “and also as good suppliers.”

Melissa became hesitant, “please don’t tell that I’m thinking what you’re thinking.”

“Hm? How? Anyway, you can take a good chunk of snow out of them whenever you run out of the snow around you.”

“But they’re protecting you! Don’t you think that’s unfair for them?”

“It’s called a snowarmy for a reason. Every soldier dies while fighting for their country, or in this case, their ruler: me.” Nejire drained the rest of her drink, “I would go on with the list, but I think you get the point I’m trying to make.”

Melissa nodded, also finishing her drink. “That conversation we just had didn’t make sense at all.”

“It only doesn’t make sense to you, because you didn’t choose to understand.”

“Right...” Melissa started to zip on her jacket, “I don’t think that’s how it works, but okay.” Melissa and Nejire both made their way out of the café, the snow outside was falling ever-so-slowly.

“Oh, and another thing.”

Melissa looked at Nejire, “yeah? About what?”

“Y’know, the cool things about snow? Well, it isn’t really about snow, but about winter in general.”

“Go on...”

“Well, if your hands ever get cold, you can always hold someone’s hand to warm them.” Nejire took Melissa’s hand in hers.”Or in other words, I just gave myself an invitation to hold yours.”

Melissa smiled, “invitation? Who said anything about you needing an invitation to hold my hand?” Melissa gripped Nejire’s hand affectionately, “you’re always welcome to hold my hand, Neji.”
