Do you love mythology and folklore? Do you enjoy learning about mythical creatures in a fun and entertaining way? Do you like audio fiction? Well, then allow me to introduce you to @proserpinapark
Residents of Proserpina Park begins with a frame story. It begins with our unarmed narrator listening to some recordings that her brother gave her. They're made by a young woman named Alina, who is investigating rumors of a mysterious secret park, known as Proserpina Park. It's part of an assignment for journalism class. Alina found more than she bargained for. Turns out, Proserpina Park is a sanctuary for all the mythical creatures from across World Mythology and Folklore. Fortunately, she's not exploring the park alone. Alina meets a guy named Sam, who is something of a park resident himself. Each episode sees Alina learn more about the various creatures who call Proserpina Park their home.
I'd argue that, in many ways, Residents of Proserpina Park is an edutainment show. It sets out to tach listeners about different mythological creatures in a fun and entertaining way. Most episodes follow roughly same format; Alina will arrive at the park, meet Sam, and then Sam will tell her about a new creature, and explain the creature's origins and mythological significance. Usually, the recordings end right before Alina and Sam go to actually see the creature in question. Though, later episodes do shake up the format a bit. Alina starts exploring the park on her own, and bringing friends along, something Sam tells her she must never do. Some creatures, particularly the ones with human-level intelligence, do also make on-screen, for lack of a better way of putting it, appearances.
You get familiar creatures such as kappa or the Jersey Devil. However, you also get lesser known and more off the beating path creatures. For example, there’s the Aralez from Armenian Mythology. They're large dogs with feathery wings, and can heal people simply by licking them. There’s also the Bulgae. They're dogs from Korean Mythology who chase the sun and moon across the sky. When one of them bites the sun, it causes an eclipse.
Season 1 was absolutely fantastic. Episodes are typically about eleven or twelve minutes, so season one is easily bingeable. And I would strongly advise you to do so as quickly as possible if you haven't already.
Have to listened to Residents of Proserpina Park? If so, what did you think?

Could you tell us more about Tsuno Daishi? He seems very interesting.
Tsuno Daishi, the Great Horned Master, is the deified form of Ryogen, a tenth century Tendai monk, abbot of the Mt. Hiei temple complex (the same one where Matara-jin was enshrined) and prominent Buddhist philosopher.More, including some images, under the cut.

Trick or treat!
Wasn’t expecting one so soon, here’s a big plate of spicy Mapo tofu with rice.
With the many characters that I made in my head, I tend to have them come together to fight, whether it’s each other or together, I gave them them distinct fighting styles depending on weapon, like with swords, bows polearms, shields, whatever they could find, or a hand-to-hand fist fight like a bar brawler, wrestler, or a feral animal.
Sometimes their skills are made with stuff I take from things I see like martial arts, militaristic styles, or things like Wuxia. And their personality make them to the book, unpredictable, or volatile.
Magic is definitely involved with how they use it showing the people they are like duplication to stay relentless, portals to keep distance or stay defensive, defensive magic to make riskier move connection, or poison/strength theft and wait the clock out.
You can learn the type of person that they are with just they way they fight(which is a running joke in that world)
…Which makes it funnier that one of my physically strongest character's fighting style boils down to…
His hand-to-hand is him flailing around his arms and legs, mostly hitting with the arms, every weapon he touches ends wrecked, he feels nothing, so never bothers to dodge, and his “strategy” boils down to “hit them-not dead?-hit them harder”, yet his strength means blocking is too risky, borderline suicidal.
All the work going into how every character fights and there’s just one guy living of crackhead/godly strength and nothing else.
And he doesn’t even win many fights because most of his opponents figure out that hitting him from afar despite the thrown trees and boulders is the best option.
Just shows that strength itself is useless if you don’t even have a strategy to use it properly.
hey! if you're not already aware, my favorite game ever, a boomer shooter called TF2, is currently facing a massive bot problem. bad actors are hosting bot players to farm items and take advantage of the economy, or to go out of their way to disrupt games with cheats like aimbot and wallhacks. an entire game can be put to standstill by 3 sniper bots, and Valve continues to monetize the game despite their several-year long stint of no communication to the community, and no action to stop the bots.
if you'd be willing to take a second, check out this website and sign this petition which will be physically printed and sent to Valve.
a lot of people have a deep love for this game, and it makes me sad that it's made to be as unapproachable as it currently is by people who choose to detract joy from the world because they cannot create it.

Okay, it seems when we do a Tumblr sexyman tournament, the winner takes the power of the rest and, in turn, sends it to our world where someone ends up dying.
Said person who died, seems to be judged neither by morality, but by status, with the recipients being a queen and a pope. We’re 2 for 2, not a lot, but the pattern is there.
I think we can weaponize this. Let’s make more sexyman polls at an increased rate and hope that this probable Death Note hits our more problematic people like our president and the tech idiot.
We'll eventually hit them if we throw enough shots at their direction, so let’s see the hell we can raise with our Blorbos.
