WC x Rainworld Day 4 - Gourmand

Gourdstar is the current leader of Rainclan, joining with a ragtag group of loners many moons ago, and carving a home for himself in clan life. He became well-loved and trusted thanks to his warm personality and various skills, so much so that he was entrusted with the deputy position, before eventually becoming Rainclan's very own leader.

Gourdstar has a laid-back energy to them, but don't be fooled- They are ready to do anything for the cats of Rainclan to thrive. They know when to put their foot down and when to take a gentler approach.

Often going on patrols alongside their clan cats (they can afford it- they've yet to lose a life), Gourdstar was the one to find Goldenheart as she wandered their territories. Gourdstar sympathized with the young cat- They looked like they'd been through a lot. That, and they smelled familiar. Goldenheart was quickly welcomed into Rainclan.

Notes: - Gourdstar is a fawn cat with no white, originally intended to be a funky solid, but I'm not so sure what to go with now. Cats do sometimes just have stripes they genetically shouldn't, so that's probably what's going on here. - Gourd is polydactyl, and they have an extra toe on each foot. These look like thumbs, but can't really be used as such. - I love the Gourd...

I’m not done singing my praises of Warriorclan because they’re genuinely one of the sweetest groups of characters ever. They are everything I wish they kept going with Bloodclan. You could find connections between MonkeyStar and Scourge, but they’re different from each other still. MonkeyStar as a character is a breath of fresh air in a sea of miserable annoying assholes that warrior cats wants us to care about.

They shoved Warriorclan off to the side because they didn’t think this genuinely lovable, helpful, fun loving, sympathetic group of cats was worth caring about because they weren’t complaining or whinging all the time, they weren’t always going “but do we have to help them? They’re not us so why should we help”, because the moment another cat was in trouble they wasted no time helping them out

I don’t like the idea of them being a “true clan” like the rest of the real clans, I like them being a clan in the sense of what Bloodclan was. They don’t expect the cats they took in from the old hoarder to do things for Warriorclan, they’re just so happy to have more cats to be around, cats that they can show pure goddamn light and joy to. I have problems with how they’re written that is purely aimed towards the authors but legitimately there will be no other Warriorclan, just like how there will be no other Bloodclan. They’re both unique in their own ways and I’m happy to say that they’ll never be “Real Clans”

YES IM PRETTY SURE I think it was meant to be educational and one more dig at Thistle but it just turned him into an even more terrifying monster bc you know no one will fucking believe Spottedpaw, no matter how respected or loved she is Thistleclaw is above her even when she’s a med cat and it’s so gross and scary, my poor poor girl.

AND YES to me he was like Tigerclaw with respected warriors on the inside who will blindly follow and believe whatever he says which is why his victims are too scared to speak out. Your absolutely right though it could have been great but instead it was “something terrible happened and now you’ll shut the fuck up about it” HELLO??? She just suffers ???

NO THISTLECLAW IS TERRIFYING especially bc he had so much respect as he followed the tradiotal clan values of killing anyone who isn’t Thunderclan like that’s not horrific? And it’s shown when you go against him he will make your life miserable. There’s no escaping him !! Sure he held no power but he had so many respected friends and also had a deal w hell. The only reason Whitekit was spared was bc he wasn’t with Thistles time

SORRY TO RANT !! I really love your takes and Thistle makes my blood boil bc the only punishment he got was hell. No one talks about how evil he was, no one told them not to be like him he just did shit and rotted and it makes me mad.

I do feel pretty bad for pre-SPH ThistleClaw fans because it was just out of nowhere that he's a pedophile now. Really shows how little planning went into his character.

Because could you imagine a version of him that was actually planned out that showed how respected members of a community can be capable of getting away with horrible things because they have positive public opinion on their side. And then at the same time, show how Thunderclans and the Clans as a whole will fail those who seek justice or sanctuary from their abuser because if that abuser is respected, then nothing is done about it.

No worries about the rant! He's a very frustrating character to me. I could be so, so, so very wrong on this but didn't the erin who wrote the story say that it wasn't even intended to be a story about grooming. Again please tell me if I'm wrong I have a fuckass memory. I have a lot of thoughts on him that I can't get out very well but I think, had his character been planned properly, he could have served as a very good warning about how predators or groomers aren't always going to be the shady figure in an alley or anybody scary, sometimes they're going to be a well-respected member of your community, internet or in real life
