right about now.......
every time the stickers on my phone start wearing down I feel guilty cause they’re not as the used to be but then I remember that one post about being well-loved and I don’t feel guilty
The minute you stop putting bigotry in little boxes of “oh it’s an x thing” or “it’s a y thing” and accept that bigotry is intersectional and doesn’t care about boundaries, you can start helping yourself and your fellow targets of hatred.
Being sexualised without consent isn’t just “oh it’s a girl thing! Welcome to the club trans women!!” It’s about being an “other”. Bigots don’t care about you identifying as a woman or a man, you’re just an other whose identity has been presented through media as inherently sexual. This is why gay men experience it as well as gay women, why trans men, non-binary, and trans women also experience it. This is why the buck doesn’t stop at women. Misogyny, racism, transphobia, and homophobia all intersect in disgusting ways that effect everyone who’s a target.
am I saying it’s bad to vent about your experiences? FUCK NO. I’m saying it’s going to make you lonely when you divide your experiences from other people’s, especially when they relate. DONT MAKE YOUR LIFE HARDER BY SHUTTING OUT EVERYONE ELSE.
Offering me unsolicited advice about a situation that I don't feel great about, or has already happened, is the quickest way to get on my bad side.
do you think Eurydice spent the rest of her afterlife knowing Orpheus only looked back because he loved her
do you think that even after she forgot everything else, like she did in Flowers, she still knew that someone loved her so much they’d risk everything for her
do you think Persephone sometimes looks at Eurydice and sees herself. Maybe Hades was the one to grant Eurydice the mercy of knowing that she was loved, even after she forgets her own name.
Maybe it was Orpheus who wrote their song, so that he wouldn’t be the only mortal to have known of Eurydice and how much they loved each other. Maybe that’s why Hadestown paints Orpheus in the way it does, because he can’t help but think of how his distraction pushed Eurydice down that path. And that’s why Hermes sings it, because he thinks that maybe even if the story stays the same, he’s still fulfilling Orpheus’ wish for people to know Eurydice.
I hate this show so much like you don’t even know
And when you ask anyone to just be a little more inclusive it's suddenly "WE WEREN'T TALKING ABOUT TRANS MEN WHEN WE SAID ALL MEN!!!!" like they didn't just out themselves as not seeing trans men as men.
im actually so tired of trans men being so completely left out if the convo abt reproductive rights
Even my little pony did “monstrous wolf” better how did vivzie screw this up so bad?
Loona’s feral form is so fucking horrible. It would’ve been so easy to make her look like an actual demonic hound instead of this furry abomination.
Vivziepop is so afraid of letting her female characters look monstrous or animalistic. They always have to be conventionally attractive regardless of what form they’re in.
Since it’s almost October I should probably start rolling the Halloween sketches out https://www.instagram.com/p/CiGq-w8uDAh/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
If you are complaining about male reader x (male character) fics as a fem aligned person, you need to suck it up, 75 if not 85% of the fics posted on tumblr are for fem reader x male characters, and you’re complaining over the one male reader fic?!?!? Get over yourself.
So stop crying and go do something useful like re-blogging or commenting nice things on mlm fic blogs.
Also stop tagging male reader if your fic is clearly not for male reader, you look like a moron.
I have already intimated to you the danger of parties in the State, with particular reference to the founding of them on geographical discriminations. Let me now take a more comprehensive view, and warn you in the most solemn manner against the baneful effects of the spirit of party generally. . . .
It serves always to distract the public councils and enfeeble the public administration. It agitates the community with ill-founded jealousies and false alarms, kindles the animosity of one part against another, foments occasionally riot and insurrection. . . .
The great rule of conduct for us in regard to foreign nations is in extending our commercial relations, to have with them as little political connection as possible. So far as we have already formed engagements, let them be fulfilled with perfect good faith. Here let us stop. Europe has a set of primary interests which to us have none; or a very remote relation. Hence she must be engaged in frequent controversies, the causes of which are essentially foreign to our concerns. . . .
