Hey so I ate this, thanks for the meal

Before you guys behold my Xiuhcoatl's design, ypu guys have to read the convo of the coloring session.

>Borrowed lil bro's colored pencils. >Lil bro saw the red-blue lines & the snakes: "are you drawing toothpaste anime tentacle hentai?" >we smacked each other down. >continued to color. Lil bro somehow joined. >colored the hair. Wanted blueflame tips. Then Lil bro commented: "why there are some green there" >"wtf it isn't supposed to be there." It did. I initially wanted rainbow blotches like paints on his hair. I proceeded to gaslight my Lil bro that it wasn't there before. He didn't take it😓>"wait," said Lil bro, "shouldn't you, uh, what it's called... outline it first?" >"...idk how to outline. How about you?" >"tf no it's your drawing. Do it yourself." >"tf you're trying to color it then!!!???" >proceeded to argue before accepting that none of us can draw. >trying to finish the hair. Realized that we don't have purple pencil for gradation. Gave up. >"I still think you're trying to draw tentacle hentai" >proceeded to argue again.

Okay lo and behold, my masterpiece. It's cringe but we live that cringe life amiright.

WAIT BEFORE YOU GUYS STONE ME I CAN EXPLAIN-

The main inspiration for his design came from Dark Sun Gwyndolin from Dark Soul.

He have many similarities with my Xiuhcoatl. He was born as a boy, but raised as a daughter because of his affinity to moon magic. He was the youngest child of a god who brought fire to mankind. However, shit happened and the age of darkness came. His siblings died or fled one by one and he was the last one standing in his city. After his father left, he claimed himself to be the Dark Sun. He then proceeded to create illusion to maintain the city, becoming a bit tyrannical in the process. Btw he also had a "younger sister"/girl who claimed she was one, whom he was very close with but it's really unknown who's her true identity. But then shit happened again and he was devoured by a god devourer. I love his moon/sun theming, his desperation to maintain his city even if it all went shit in the end, his ambiguous gender indentity (there are debates all across the internet regarding it, but since the majority & his younger sister regarded him as a "he", I shall call him a "he"), and his SNAKES YAHOOO. Like his design is gorgeous overall but the snakes? They really elevate him to the stratosphere.

Still related to the snakes, you guys probably have read my post about Xiuhcoatl's link with the Tzitzimimeh. Now I particularly laser-focused on Coatlicue, the mother of the moon goddess Coyolxauhqui, the stars gods Centzon Huītznāuhtin, and the god of war and fire Huitzilopochtli. Coatlicue's name means "skirt of snakes". Oh boy how it fits Gwyndolin😋

If you count the snakes, there are 13 of them, representing the Dragonlords. "Where are the Princes" we don't know much about them😭 "are there any special distinction between the snakes" no I don't have enough skill to draw snakes😭 but I do love how the snakes sprouted out from his skirt, it looks like they sprouted from his loins *cough*, just like how they refer parents in archaic poetry & bible. For example: "Blest is the father from whose loins you sprung" (Odyssey, Book VI). Fun fact, the littlest of snakes you see in the front? I made it in the last minute when I recounted the snakes and there were only 12, but it became my favorite. Look at that silly goober🥰

Onto the dress/huipil itself... no, it's not anything special. I based it from this image:

I don't even manage to add the feathers on the rectangle😭 uoghh it could elevate his design... my Xiuhcoatl would adore to dress in ostentatious clothing and jewelery, I made a disgrace to him😓 I swear if I can draw better I'll draw him in the most elegant clothing you ever saw.

The lowest part of the skirt/cuēitl is supposed to be a frill, to give him a modern huipil (this is tehuana huipil!) touch like this:

But as you can see I suck at drawing🥰

The red-blue lines also followed the huipil's pattern, but yk, that's the color of the flame, and Xiuhcoatl is the Pyro Sovereign and based after a fiery blue serpent, so it fits🥰 "no it doesn't he looks like a toothpaste" be quiet😭

For his hair, initially, I wanted to have rainbow splotches on the tips, so his hair looks like a painting brush (his hair is dark brown). But I (my brother really) can't color to save our lives😅 then I switched to flame colors for the tips, from lightest blue to red then dark brown. However, as you can see, I fucked up😭

For his bangs, I actually based it after Lumine!

I'll save you from the brain aneurysm of theory, you only need to know that they both represent the feminine aspect of the twins.

And finally, his side feathers! You know from whom I based it!

His rizzler twin brother, Kukulkan😋 to tie them together!

A little drabble in regard of Xiuhcoatl's creation/birth. Nothing lore-breaking or angsty (we have enough of that do we😁) First POV is from Xiuhcoatl. The second from Kukulkan.

There was nothing but the ray of light and hues and colors fading in and out.

You don't have a name.

Yet.

You closed your eyes. They don't exist, yet. Darkness enclosing that nothingness, changing the blinding heat to bleak, but in essence nothing was transformed, not real.

You opened your eyes, now. And this time, they were very real. The thousands myriad of colors blurred, vision started to form in a true and right sight. Visible, something to be touched and could be said as real, not imaginary fatamorgana.

You did touch it, eventually. With your fingers, claws, talons. You have hands. Or something that could be classified as limbs.

It was heat unravelling, cooling. You have a form.

You are real.

And for the first time, cool night air touched your skin, your scales. Glimmering moonlight caressing your face. And the stars above hallowing your existence.

You were birthed from the flame itself.

Greetings, little one.

And someone welcomed the sunshine of their lifetime.

The King of Stars and Heaven themselves. Shadow upon claws. Moonlight personified.

Formidable Father spoke. What name shall I call you?

The sounds reverberating in your newly formed throat, gasping and crawling through your first inhalation and exhalation of breaths, air pulling and escaping your lungs said-

"...Huh?"

Once, there was darkness.

And then, there was light.

Eyes opened, blinded.

Then slowly, the eyes flickered for a bit. Adapting to the light and the growing heat, replacing coldness.

And only by then, presence instead of loneliness.

But it had already been there just a little while ago. That presence approached. Arms, hands, one couldn't tell yet. But close was the presence, and when he touched one's form, patting the part one would later called 'cheeks', one could tell that he was the source of the heat and light.

And he was very warm. The first sunshine of your lifetime.

One would watch how his mouth move, the first attempt to draw out syllables, the first attempt to make a sound.

'Hello!' Eyes blinked once more. 'Hello,' he repeated, in the language that would later be classified as an infant's chatter, of how they communicate between each other. But in that moment, they understand each other well enough. 'My name is...'

It was silence. You two didn't realize it yet, but even he didn't forge his name yet. All things were nebulous and fragile at best, his name stuck in the moment of solidification and melting, again and again.

And yet, you imprinted that silence in your mind, the still unstable cast, where it could endure for eternity.

Why, it was the first name you've ever heard.

And it was also the first time you realized that there was a barrier between you and him. The thing that made you didn't melt into his touch The thing that made you hear his voice upon the air instead of hearing it inside your brain. The thing that you receive the warmth of his existence instead of radiating it by yourself.

Individuality.

Yet again, that form of nebulousness, perhaps, made him take a glimpse of your burgeoning thought. Unravel a crack inside the cave of your Id. And from that crack, came the first curve of the lips one would call in the tommorow; smile.

'I have an idea,' he said, now with a voice that was bubbling upon the fabric of reality.

"Your name shall be...'...Kukulkan!'"

You blinked once more. But it was not a form of adapting to the light, instead, you held the forms of his hands, pat it back, hoping that he also felt the warmth you started to radiate from himself.

And how your voice croaks, syllables bleedin to life and into existence, "...Kukulkan..."

That is your name.

The light of this universe beamed. He mouthed those syllables again and again and again, "Kukulkan! Kukulkan! Kukulkan!"

You know this not, but when the wind finally blew into this primal cradle of existence, it carried the syllables of your name first, not his.

And only then, that he drew the syllables of his own individuality. "My name's Xiuhcoatl! My name's Xiuhcoatl! I am Xiuhcoatl, and you are Kukulkan! Xiuhcoatl and Kukulkan!"

How warm was that day.

And you (know this too well. You know, too late. Too late to change anything. To fix everything-) not this also, but before this, he was cold. That he was merely ice and stone. But you came, and you were the first spark of joy of his universe.

Above and beyond, the White-Winged Dragon, Almighty Father of all, saw this proceeding with a heart burning with pride and wings that eclipsed the moon, as if feathers of a nest.

Just saw someone say that Ixlel and Och-Kan are like Asuka and Shinji from neon genesis…

Thought it was only appropriate as her number #1 Fan to post my design of her. If I don’t get more content for the best dragon lord (sorry Ajaw) in 5.5, I might lose it all. I didn’t know what to draw in the empty space so just put my little doodles Friday and Moth, ignore them <3.
