(In the sense of âI mean likeâ âYou know likeâ)
We have THREE main ways of saying âlikeâ in sentences, cause we thought âlol why only have one?â Theyâre used generally orally by an individual, LIKE A LOT (and sometimes written when texting friends)
You will be granted access of me and my best friendâs conversation screenshots in order for you to see them used.
This one is used the most, including me to the despair of my parents lol.
Translation: âlike sometimes heâs talking and at some point there was something that triggered himâ âlike fuck Iâm looking at this rock itâs crazyâ
A kind of âlikeâ used when you want to present a state in which you were in.
Translation: âItâs so funny that you thought about what you wrote like oh yeah I wasnât clear let me phrase it betterâ
Itâs used in the sense of âIâm likeâ and âI was likeâ
Translation: âYeah I was like calm downâ
ok ok ok now that you've deleted that first ask
'âAre you flirting with me?â âYou finally noticed?â' with ushijima pls <33333 tyyyyyy
a/n: flksldsdj hi maeee <333 pretend i didnât take so long to write this đ based on this prompt list
"good work today."
you glance up and off to the side from your squat, panting slightly, to see a tall, well-built man leaning against the power cage youâre stationed at. his skin is covered with a thin sheen of sweat, chest heaving slightly, indicating that heâs just finished one of his grueling workout routines. you would know, youâve seen his regimen. itâs ridiculous, honestly. youâre halfway convinced that Ushijima Wakatoshi is simply not human.
âthanks,â you let the barbell drop and grab the clean, white towel that he offers you. âiâm sure iâm a mess though. havenât been in for a while because of work and stuff.â
âi noticed.â Ushijima shrugs off your concerns. âyou look very well put together.â
fighting back a grin, along with the strange flutter of your heart that those words elicit from you, you thank him again. this man, honestly. always coming up to you and saying things that no normal person would probably have the courage to say. but Ushijima? no such hesitation. youâve lost track of the things heâs said to you over the past few weeks that youâve gotten to know him.Â
âyou have good form.â
âyouâve improved from since i last saw you.â
âyou are pleasing to talk to.â
if it were anyone else, you probably would have called them out on it long ago, but itâs Ushijima. he means things as he says them. youâre a hundred percent sure that he has absolutely no interest in you. youâre a hundred percent sure that he has absolutely no interest in anyone, so laser-focused is he when heâs working out. not once have you ever seen his eyes stray towards anyone. youâre probably the only one he talks to regularly, heaven knows why, despite the many women and some men desperate to have him âcheck their form.â
âso whatâs new with you? anything going on in that big volleyball brain of yours?â
Ushijimaâs brows furrow at your teasing words. ânot particularly. i do have a match coming up.â
âno way, really? an official match?â he nods, intense gaze tracking the way you stretch out your sore arms. âyou know, come to think of it, iâve never seen you play. never seen you actually practice either.â
thereâs a short pause. âwould you like to?â
you raise your eyebrows. âwhenâs the game? if itâs soon, i doubt i could snag tickets in time.â
âi can get you a courtside seat,â Ushijima straightens and adds almost reluctantly, âmore than one if...you would like to bring a friend.â
your lips twitch at the slightly awkward invite. unable to help yourself, you lean against the cool metal bar of the cage, tilting your head, âtickets to your game? the ones that are notoriously hard to get? and not just that, but a courtside seat? why Ushijima, are you flirting with me?â
you grin at the way his forehead creases, bending down to pick up your water bottle thatâs sitting on the ground. ârelaaax, iâm just messing w-â
âyou finally noticed?â
your hand freezes mid-air in its path towards your face, water bottle gripped tightly in it. a few drops of water splash out before you manage to stabilize it, staring incredulously at the olive-brown haired man in front of you. you have to take some time to process those three words, running them through your mind a few times before coughing. âyou- youâre flirting.â
âi am.â
âwith me.â
âyes.â
you squint, blinking a few times to make sure that youâre not in the twilight zone and that it is indeed Ushijima Wakatoshi, resident gym rat and volleyball nerd, speaking to you. thereâs barely a single coherent thought in your mind right now, everythingâs just a jumbled mess. âwhat? why? who? when? where?â
âsince the beginning.â his broad shoulders slump, head cocking to the side. he looks confused as to why youâre confused. âbecause iâm interested in you.â
a stunned silence settles heavily over the two of you. Ushijima looks patient, just standing there, in no rush to retract his confession or turn away, as any normal person would. it takes a few moments, but you manage to unstick your tongue from the roof of your mouth and clear your throat, heat flooding to your cheeks when memories every single interaction youâve had with him over the past few weeks comes rushing back.
âum. so whenâs the game?â
Hi I'm indy I'm a new follower I plan on going in to computer science! Any advice ?
Hi there! Ohhh thatâs so awesome, good luck! Computer science is an amazing subject to study! I was terrified at first because I havenât had much experience in coding before going to uni, but youâre going to be just FINE trust me! âš
đ» Â first of all DONâT BE SCARED YOU CANâT CODE - thatâs why youâre going to computer science in the first place, to learn to code. Of course, thereâs going to be people who are pro-coders already, but donât get intimidated by them, find your own pace and just do your thing! Theyâre probably repeating the year anyway or they transferred.
đ»  I know in computer science youâre mostly like âwhy do I need lectures when I need to CODE not listen about codingâ, but trust me GO TO LECTURES - I attended (almost) every lecture possible during my first year and it really made a World of a difference especially if youâre a newbie to all of this! Youâll meet the professors and youâll know what theyâre expecting of you and theyâll probably tell you some funny stories as well. Plus youâll have more familiar faces on the campus :)Â
đ»  DO SOME READING - thereâs one lecture that I didnât go to and that was a mistake I tell you. I didnât go because the lecturer's voice was boring and I was literally falling asleep. But after I did some reading about the subject before the exam I realized his words were very valuable, but unfortunately if you already knew a bit about the subject, so if you have a subject that bores you - do some reading on your own and then go to the lecture. youâll get much more information out of it!Â
đ»  CODE AT HOME - after youâve practiced some skills during the classes, go home and practice them again on your own. Try doing something useful or fun with it. Like make it print out âYoloâ in a circle (I did that, no regrets lmao)
đ» Â INSTALL ALL THE SOFTWARE DURING YOUR FIRST WEEK - install all the things youâre going to need during the year on your first week, honestly, please do! Itâll save you time later on. As soon as the professor mentions what you should install, note it down, go home, install it.Â
đ»  PRACTICE EVEN REALLY SIMPLE THINGS - if you donât understand anything just type it on youtube and youâll find plenty of the video tutorials which ARE AMAZING. They helped me a lot with understanding some stuff I couldnât get a grip of. And I know youâll find some stuff that youâre like âI donât need to practice this, this is trivialâ ITâS NOT and youâll get it wrong if you donât code it at least once, just do it, itâll take like 30s.Â
đ»  here are some links which really helped me out and I would recommend checking out beforehand: * c++ step by step video tutorials with Bucky (Bucky saved me before the exam)* learn c++ in one video ( doesnât really teach you c++ in one video, but thereâs some useful stuff especially if youâre new to this) * sorting algorithms with hungarian folk dance (lmao these are really useful, I promise) * codeacademy (hereâs just basic coding, but good to start with :) )*  introduction to 3D graphics with Blender ( THE GOD OF BLENDER) and finally:* incredibly realistic wolf animationÂ
HAVE FUN, RELAX AND GOOD LUCK! âšâšâšâš Hope this helped!Â
Minimal atmospheric piano that doesnât sound like itâs taken straight from an alexa commercial. Really minimal, melancholy.Â
Violin y cello instrumentals for studying and reading: includes soundtracks and some classical music opus.
Minecraft-like ambient exploration suites: soft, creative instrumental ambient sounds
Opera and choral music: if youâd seriously like to feel like youâre studying at a gothic library, then this playlistâs the one for you. Eco chamber-like
Instrumental soft jazz: really soft jams, some of the BGM chanel. Slow ballads to read to.
*Classical music: Background classical piano, violin and orchestal pieces from recognized classical composers for studying the old fashioned way.
Open to suggestions or feedback, I hope these help you out! Push it through!

-your study space is any space. if you feel slightly motivated by doing homework in bed, then do it there. if you need a desk (organized or messy) in order to work, then you do you.
-procrastinate with creativity. got a hobby you enjoy thatâs infinitely better than reading some old book thatâs not really all that important anyway? spend four hours working on that instead.
-wear literally whatever you want. you donât need button ups, vests, or dress pants if thatâs not your style. a sweatshirt, floral skirt, or ugly ass thrifted hawaiian shirt will do just as well if it makes you happy
-donât get bogged down by depressing things just because itâs âaesthetic.â thinking about the inevitability of death might be nice for some people, but turning yourself into a moody asshole isnât good for you in the long run. enjoy happy things, romantic things, as long as they donât always end in tragedy.Â
-consume media you enjoy. if you find classics boring, donât feel obligated to read them. if poetry isnât you thing, then thatâs fine. if you donât like classical music, indie, etc. blast some pop music in your bedroom or whatever else your into. the interest does not the jester make.Â
-finally: do your best. donât push yourself to be constantly searching for and taking in new knowledge. take a break, be mindless, allow yourself to relax until the next time you need to learn something new.Â
If you have ever had to write a resume for work or for an application, then you know the hardest part is figuring out what type of words to use that sound professional and and intelligent.
Example: If an application asks you if you have any relevant experience for a job at a day care center and you have experience, like you have babysat children. You would look at the words in the columns to see what words you should use that will help your resume stand out. You might put down âHave supervised and attended to children on a regular basis.â
I hope this is helpful to you.
