I was thinking about how awkward it would be for Kunikida and Fyodor to co-parent Aya and this is what happened.
“he’s talking about weed” “he’s talking about guns” nuh uh gay marriage
Man, I miss having sleepovers like this
world link ruikasa for ruikasa week on twitter :3 !!!
it was funnier in my head
Aya’s new dad count goes up again in the worst way possible
the fact that Edwin lived in the early 1900s is a fantastic source of comedic potential. he's just constantly saying things that he doesn't realise are completely batshit insane, and the others are just left utterly floored.
like they're all talking and Crystal mentions she's tried cocaine once on a wild night out, and Edwin, who used to get that shit medically prescribed at the drop of a hat is like ??? okay?? hope you felt better, it always used to help me when I had a cold too :) charles why are you laughing?
I think the funniest thing I've seen in Dead Boy Detectives for now is the gruesome, horrible, disgusting spell on the crow that produces... A twink
so wait you know when in episode 7 charles starts to see what's actually in hell after he and edwin start running for it and edwin says "you have to experience hell to see what's really there" does that mean that charles' personal hell was seeing edwin helpless and in pain and scared and unable to get away from a giant spider made of baby doll heads? does it? interesting 🕵️♀️
Crystal: Do you ever want to talk about your feelings, Charles?
Charles: No
Edwin: I do
Crystal: I know, Edwin
Edwin: I went to hell
Crystal: I know, Edwin
i have got to stop making memes on my phone
my gay ass just assumed crystal was experiencing beautiful lesbian love

At the end of the game, Miku will turn to the screen and go "this truly was our Project Yuri". The credits roll. And we'll all clap, crying.
rui subconsciously preparing himself for rejection even when he first meets wxs… ough my heart </3
obviously the main story is meant to introduce rui’s eccentricities comically, but is it just me or is he also just testing tsukasa in ch 9?
he reads tsukasa’s script and then goes on to suggest LIGHTNING. as if conjuring concentrated electricity is the most normal thing in the world. and he KNOWS he seems insane for it
he even highlights the danger of it to tsukasa, making it seem like he’s not prioritizing tsukasa’s safety at all, even though we know damn well he would beat himself up over it if he actually hurt anyone. (hell, the first wxs event was literally all about that) like, it very much seems like rui is exaggerating his own eccentric nature
and then when tsukasa is apprehensive about the idea, he’s dramatic, pulling out puppy eyes and seemingly joking around about leaving
and it might seem like some funny manipulative farce to force tsukasa to let rui test out whatever ideas he had, but alternatively, it might’ve just been a farce put up in order for rui to protect his feelings. he saw that tsukasa was backtracking, not actually as willing to surpass expectations as he claimed, so rui was genuinely going to leave, likely because he didn’t want to face tsukasa’s rejection and judgement. he had exemplified the risk, knowing how any normal person would react to it, because then he could just say “oh well, i knew nobody would want to do anything this crazy anyways.” he didn’t actually believe that someone would accept him or his ideas and was prepared to be alone as per usual
which is why it makes sense that he’s surprised when tsukasa (albeit reluctantly) actually AGREES to the lightning
it’s too good to be true, so he throws more crazy ideas at tsukasa: a flamethrower, launching tsukasa w jets installed in the stage; trying to push him away before rui can feel the pain of rejection again
yet, tsukasa rises to meet rui’s challenges anyway
rui has FINALLY found people who are ready to carry out his ideas to the best of their abilities and he’s noticeably happier, which nene points out
after nene and rui part, he’s off excitedly shopping for parts and gadgets for the show. he’s found a place where he belongs. where he doesn’t have to face rejection anymore. where he has people who will support and actually fulfill his ideas. people who will see him as more than just a weirdo. he doesn’t have to be alone anymore.
this idea of a found home in wxs is reiterated in every rui event, and to think he was once afraid that they might reject him too </3
(rui, you make me want to chomp on a desk :’) )
mini rant, but i am quite annoyed that on the twitter prsk deathmatch polls, i've seen two qrts now saying that mafuyu would win (in various scenarios) because "she has no morals".
we are talking about the girl whose dream is to be a nurse because she wants to take care of people like how her horribly abusive mother did once. we are talking about the girl whose terrified to let people down and make them unhappy because she always derived happiness from their happiness. we are talking about the girl who in mizuki's 4th, was worried about mizuki the whole time they were at spojoy park because mizuki said they had "something important" to tell mafuyu and kept prolonging telling her about it. we are talking about the girl who genuinely smiled when helping a child with her injured knee in her 2nd mixed. we are talking about the girl, that even in main story, thought it was horrible for kanade to sacrifice so much to try and "save" her. we are talking about the girl who has grown to see nightcord as like the family she never had. we are talking about the girl who is finding happiness in friendships even when she's not fully comfortable being herself around— like shizuku, emu, airi, tsukasa, rui, ichika, and even her other underclassmen like saki, haruka and kohane, and she's now able to be herself around honami, too. we are talking about the girl who loves everyone so much— even when she shouldn't— to the point of where it isolates herself from the support she needs.
just because her good girl persona is nice and overly kind and isn't representative of mafuyu's true feelings does NOT fucking mean that mafuyu isn't an inherently kind person. mafuyu didn't have this much growth for you to say this, NOR was she EVER at a point where she truly didn't care about other people's feelings or morality. just because she had a mental breakdown and lashed out at her friends once doesn't define her as a person— she was at her lowest and couldn't handle any more pressure. mafuyu has always had an identity and personality, even if she felt incredibly unsure of it and couldn't identify it herself.
if you put mafuyu in a deathmatch with someone else, she most likely would let herself die or try to find a solution where they can both live. that is the kind of person mafuyu asahina is, and she has always been this way since the game launched in september 2020.
STOP demonizing mafuyu for being mentally ill. STOP acting like she hates people. STOP mischaracterizing her as an unfeeling person.
mafuyu is a girl that loves and loves and loves until there is nothing left.
thank you for reading my rant.
"Kiss of Death"
This refers to the theory of Fyodors ability where his murderer gets to die. I think its a tragic concept in regards to Nikolai's goal on wanting to kill the person who's unable to die.
I recreate a scene from alienstage "Cure"
wxs method acts as dogs. it goes just as you expect.
no thoughts only tsukasa and the way he emphatically includes anyone without a second thought
he may be just the littlest bit dense and overwhelming when interacting with others but he has that bright-eyed enthusiasm and willingness to accept others wholeheartedly that reminds me of how younger kids are. and not in a “wow he’s so childish and immature” way. he’s just so BRIGHT and unapologetically himself in the way that kids who are beginning to experience the world tend to be. and that’s such a perfect contrast to the rest of the cautious heart class.
despite his childhood loneliness, his personality wasn’t dampened and he’s honestly not what you’d describe as “cautious” lmao. he kinda skipped that phase where kids become self-conscious of their actions and suppress themselves for the sake of fulfilling expectations. whereas the others in the aptly named cautious heart class have aren’t as true to themselves in some way and are working to be more so
mafuyu, trying to find herself again and obviously having her “good girl” persona
honami, working to stand for her own opinions and ideas instead of always appeasing everyone
kohane, learning to be more out there and to stop worrying about what everybody thinks so much
haruka, always being in idol-mode and realizing that it’s okay to take breaks from that. (her story is different from shizuku’s and how shizuku previously had to hide her clumsiness and whatnot to be the perfect idol in Cheerful*Days, but I think that naturally as an idol, there’s going to be discrepancy between Haruka as a person and Haruka in the eyes of others/fans. this is very apparent in the miya girls school festival event where a girl tells haruka that she’s realized haruka isn’t some unapproachable professional idol that people think her to be. saki inviting haruka to the event committee provided haruka the opportunity to relax and show the less serious, regular-high-school-girl side of herself)
at first glance, tsukasa might seem like he’s an outlier in the cautious heart class. but in actuality, he fits so well because he’s just so great at encouraging the rest of the class to throw away any “cautions” about fitting into a certain expectation and just be themselves instead. obviously he himself doesn’t seem to care much about what others think of him, so he shows the others that it’s not so bad to put yourself out there
hence why he seems to be leading the class in the MV (when I watched it, I initially found it odd that he was so prominent lmao. I have thoughts on rui’s placement in the MV as well but i feel like that’s gonna turn out to be another long ramble LMAO)
tsukasa tenma, you endearing, endearing little man <3
not rui just casually dropping a heart-wrenching line on april fools day
istg i feel like I’ve read rui say the saddest lines so nonchalantly way too many times :(
