Elva raised an eyebrow as Salem came towards her. Once upon a time they were friends, but…he became too chaotic. She missed him, of course, but she missed everyone. He was more in danger close to her than he was on his own, “What have you done?” She demanded, still walking wit him, “Could you look any more suspicious?”
“Yeah, actually, I can,” he retorted, fixing his eyes onto the path in front of them. He knew someone was following him and more than likely it had to due with a stunt he pulled in a bar last week. “And I didn’t do anything that someone else didn’t deserve.” It actually pained Salem to be dragging her into of his messes, knowing how much she wanted to avoid trouble.

❝ you’re the worst. ❞ cesar groans childishly, moving to flop down in the nearest chair. it was worth a shot, of course. using manipulation tactics to get his brother to do whatever he wanted, that is. ❝ it could, if you’d do something for me. then i wouldn’t be forced to do unspeakable things to you that would ruin your whole undead life. ❞ he shrugs, speaking rather dramatically. ❝ would that really be such a bad thing ? you can’t possibly like it here. i mean, look at what being here has done to you. ❞ he points out. maybe he was just projecting his own feelings.
❝ oh, you’re too sweet, brother. ❞ he teased the elder, still smiling as the other attempted to blackmail him. ❝ would you really do that your precious baby bro? because i have a lot of undead life to live still and that’s plain cruel. ❞ salem’s expression fell, gaze falling to his lap as toyed with the loose strings of his ripped jeans. clothes never seemed to stay intact long when it came to them. ❝ going home... i want nothing more but that’s the easy way out. ❞ if he returned to his ghost form he would have no physical body to tell him what he craved and there would no longer be the tragically departed tormenting him everyday.

Elva frowned, putting her hands on her hips. “Yeah, yeah, you can’t stay out of trouble. It’s nothing serious.” She shook her head, “You know what Salem, I–” She paused, unable to actually swear even given the circumstances, “I am really upset with you!” She shook her head, “If you think for a second I ended our friendship because I didn’t want to be around you, you’re more of an idiot than I thought. I cut everyone out because I didn’t want to hurt them. Because I wanted to protect you from me.” He knew that. He had to know that, “And I have been…” She looked down at her feet, her snowflake pendant glowing, “I have been so alone because of that. But it was worth it because everyone I loved was okay. But if you’re going to screw up and get yourself into trouble anyway then what did I do that for?” She demanded, angry at him again. “Now, I’m…I’m not going to be that person anymore. You’re going to get your shit together if I have to drag you to rehab myself–do you understand?”
Regret and hurt melted together as she yelled at him, telling him her most honest feelings. “But we never asked you to do that! I lost you, Elva. I lost someone that I lo-- cared about.” He caught himself just in time, wanting her to see that it should have been his choice if he wanted to take the risk of being her friend or not. His head was starting to spin more than usual. What did she want from him? He was a loser, plain and simple. His life was so screwed up and the only escape he could see at this point was to literally run away back to his home town. “I’m not going to rehab,” he spat out suddenly, focusing on the word like she had slapped him with it. Going to rehab meant announcing to everyone, including his family, how royally screwed up he really was.

Maleficent smiled, there was something here in this ghostly child, “Feeling homesick?” She wondered. She knew well enough that there was something wrong with him, his substance problems were no secret. “Or is it a girl?” His feelings for the ice princess were no secret either. She knew this form could be deceiving, was it enough to begin to sow some seeds of chaos?
“Are you some kind of mind reader?” He joked before shaking his head. “None --- all of the above.” Chuckling, he took another sip from his bottle, beginning to think of home. If he went back and let go of this human body, he would be free from it all. It would be too easy and that was why Salem refused to return home. “Oh, but it’s so much more too,” he admitted, wondering why he was making things so hard on himself again.

“But you’re not sure?” Though phrased like a question, her tone made clear that it was anything but. That certainly seemed like something one ought to know about themself. “Well, you have to tell me all about what that’s like. I’ve never possessed someone myself. Never really saw the appeal of it.”
“That’s what I said.” The former ghost boy was hardly concerned with details, he had and always would be the reckless type. “Uh --- it’s like putting on a costume but with more feeling.” He chuckled, having no better way to describe the sensation. High or sober, he was no word smith.

Begging. He was begging her to fix him. Was he really that stupid? Were all Auradonians like that? He didn’t even know her name and he was going to let her into his mind. “Alright, sit down. I’m going to put a barrier up in your mind. Technically you’ll still hear and see the dead, but your brain won’t communicate that information to your conscious mind. We do it all the time naturally anyway,” She waited for him to get comfortable and put two fingers on each side of his temples. She let out a deep breath and breached his mind.
A barrier. That was what he had been trying to achieve with the drinking and drugs this whole time but it never lasted. It only became harder to keep it up and it was creating a more permanent barrier between him and everyone he cared about. “Okay,” he agreed softly, relaxing and letting out a soft sigh as he tried to clear his head. It felt odd, wrong almost, to have let someone else willingly into his head but he tried not to resist, tried to let go so she could do whatever she needed to with her magic.

girl will blink , she’s not so much to a man of this little words ; but NO WORRIES . she can talk enough for the both of them . “ then that means you’ve started your recovery road to 100% . judging by how much you were drinking … it might take you a whole day . ” but she had only JUST met him , so she could be wrong . she probably is , sia has a tendency to be wrong at times . “ mhmm ! got some advil in my bag too , if you need it . ”
a wince comes with her words, it’s one thing to admit to himself he has a problem, it’s another for someone else to possibly notice it. a complete stranger at that. “ no -- thanks. water’s fine. i don’t do well with medication. ” more like he had a problem staying away from it. not that advil was something he went to for recreational use. “ why --- why are you going out of your way for me? ”
sweetmvsics:
blinks , she takes the HINT to not be too pushy . she gets there , but at least sia knows when to stop . “ okay - oh ! electrolytes are good too . and tea ? probably ? ” blinks , again . maybe he doesn’t remember . perhaps … a reminder ? “ oh - i saw you last night . you looked pretty messed up - but you were nice so - why not ? i like it when people help hungover me . ”
“ oh yeah -- sports drinks are good shit for hangovers because of that. ” that was why he was out with a hangover in the first place. he needed to restock his kitchen so he could resist going out and ultimately getting himself into trouble all over again. “ really ? cool then um guess i should thank my drunk self then. usually i only hear about the wild things i’ve done the night before. ”

“Wait your dad is that one dude? I forget his name but I think I know who you’re talking about.” Of course Irey knew who it was thanks to the many stories from Lock, Shock, and Barrel but if she can confirm who it is, the girl knew this would bring in some brownie points where Oogie the next time they talked.
“The Pumpkin King! You can’t know Halloweentown without knowing him,” he exclaimed. His dad was the most famous person in Halloweentown, if she knew the town she had to know of Jack Skellington. It never occurred to him that he should be cautious of the girl that called herself Oogie’s daughter.

not quite the reaction harry had grown accustomed to in auradon. “aye, that would be right.” now the boy had his full attention. it wasn’t every day that someone actually challenged a pirate of all people to a drinking contest. “really think ye can drink a pirate under the table?? alright, i’ll bite. ye got a deal. an’ i’ll be looking forward tae ‘earing all o’ ‘bout halloween town.”
the former ghost grinned when his offer was accepted. drinking against a pirate would certainly be a challenge but not one that salem couldn’t handle. “i think, never say never.” he chuckled, shaking his head excitedly. “sure. okay, so should we find a bar then?” or the skellington boy had plenty of alcohol at his place if the pirate rather do the contest in private.
