I could not agree more! You get it. Sometimes (often I feel) being disabled does make you a burden and that's okay. There should be nothing wrong or shameful about that - it is simply stating facts and acknowledging reality.

as much as i appreciate the intent of the “being disabled doesn’t make you a burden” type posts, i don’t really agree. a lot of times being disabled DOES make you a burden

& i think that maybe we should try to shift focus to the fact that even if you’re a huge burden on society and can contribute absolutely nothing, you’re still a human being who deserves to exist.

like. there’s nothing morally wrong with being a burden on other people. you aren’t a bad person for needing to rely on others. you’re allowed to be a burden & disabled people who are burdens on others, i love you

i unironically believe electricity is the closest thing we have to magic in this universe. consider:

It's so frustrating that my neurologist is so clearly in over his head. To my face he's denying that there's any uncertainty in the diagnosis he has given me and is blaming anything that doesn't fit on my mental health. But on paper he has gone back and forth between two diagnosises for months now. He is switching between the two every time he writes in my medical chart and when I ask him about it he denies that he's unsure. I can't fucking wait to start af the headache clinic

Living with Chronic pain is so weird.

In every quiet moment there’s pain.

If some asks me how I am I usually say ‘fine’ or ‘good’ or ‘a bit tired’

because those are easier to say than ‘I’m in a lot of pain’ ‘I’m this close to passing out’ ‘if I move to quickly I will throw up’ 

and sometimes when people say ‘How are things going?’ 

I shrug and say ‘the usual’

and they assume that means everything’s fine because for them that is the usual

but for me the usual is pain.
