Guys, my friend found something out about Trump and the US election. (I do not care that me and them are British.)
They found this on a YouTube video.
Americans, we are going to weather this and we are going to still wake up every day and do good. You are not powerless, although I know on today of all days, it feels like it. American democracy is not dismantled yet, even though it feels like that’s a foregone conclusion. Here’s the thing, though: giving into defeat, deciding that everything is so bad that you’re going to avoid doing anything, or posting on the internet about how doomed we all are is just going to turn into a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Take your time to grieve. You do not have to act today. This fight is for the long haul. But then come back, and we’ll do this again. Our systems are not set in stone: Trump has shone a light on that, but he has also shown the weakness of that. The reigns of power have been grabbed, so we must redefine what it means to have power in our country. If you look at history, we have done this over and over and over again. I’ve learned over the past two and a half years from my dear friends in Ukraine that it is critical to find your sources of joy in these times. You MUST find something that brings light to your life. You must continue living. It is a defiant thing, to capture joy in a time of darkness. Don’t forget the power this has.
Spend time with people you love. Take a moment to indulge in something that makes you happy. Get involved in a movement. Start organizing. The system is broken beyond repair, so how do we take the ruins of that and build something new from it? Everything is wrong, but we have built better from catastrophe before. You can still protect the vulnerable. You can still stand up and fight.
I’m so proud of everyone who fought so hard to stave this off. That’s not over just because of this one election.
We cannot give up. That’s all there is to it.
Can Kamala Harris win? Does she really stand a chance? I’m so scared for my American friends, their families and every kind, decent human being who resides there.
She has a motherfucking chance because we are going to GIVE her a motherfucking chance.
No more talking about how "of course" the country won't elect a black woman (they also thought that with Obama in 2008). No more dooming. We can destroy the fucking billionaire donors as soon as the election is over. We can do everything else as soon as we have time to do it because we are not being fucked in the ass by Trump and his despicable orange fascists.
We are going to rally the fuck behind Kamala Harris and we are going to do it now. We are going to support whichever VP she chooses. We are going to be on the fucking lookout for any Purity Police whining about how Kamala isn't good enough either. We are going to keep our eyes fucking open for the Russian interference that frankly, I suspect, contributed heavily to this in the first place. We are going to learn our fucking lesson from 2016 and not whine about Third Party Protest Votes. We are going to pull together and quit fucking whining. Now Biden is out. You don't have to cOnDeSceNd yourself to voting for him. You are going to fucking help us get Kamala in office so fucking help us God. Then we can deal with the rest of it later. It is that simple.
The end.
Fox is NOT a “NEWS” provider, simply entertainment!
So, MAGA and all you deranged uneducated morons keep getting your NEWS from an ENTERTAINMENT provider.
Just like the WWE… do you know what the “E” in WWE stands for 🤔 ENTERTAINMENT!
He’s so mentally and morally deficient.
AI this you git.
Thank you President Biden and Vice President Harris 🇺🇸
Exactly my whole point about how we need to get the fuck out there and VOTE. That was Hillary being many points ahead of Trump and everyone was like, "Ahh we got this, no biggie!" These numbers for Harris right now aren't even that high and even if they WERE it doesn't mean crap unless people VOTE.
With Kamala/Walz going up DAILY, I've seen more people talking about voting third party/Jill Stein (EW) and I believe the above screencaps from @three--rings can explain WHY Third Party votes NEVER work NOR is this the election to screw around in.
Everyone....like she says above.....PLEASE LEARN FROM HISTORY!!!
(Because if Trump gets in, he's NEVER LEAVING).
i am trying so hard to shut the fuck up about politics because i hate the type of people it attracts to my blog but if you guys want to combat the assault on kamala's campaign, it's not "trump will make the genocide worse" its "trump is responsible for the escalation of this genocide because he got rid of obama era policies and has stated that he wants them to finish the job if re-elected"
stop giving people the impression biden's administration is responsible for this escalation because he's not.
i need you to remind people that politics is a show game and laws TAKE YEARS TO FEEL THE AFFECT OF and the current administration always has to deal with the consequences of the last administration's fuck-ups. this is why it is important to show up and vote blue every single time in every election up and down the ballots because its how we prevent from having people take us backwards every couple of years.
it's just feeding into the republican propaganda. i am begging yall to look into what the right is talking about on fox news because some of yall sound exactly the same!!!! please educate yourself on what the other side's talking points are or else you run the risk of falling into the same mental traps as them.
In before the ineffective leftists who actively work against their own future and the futures of others jump in: Yes, Kamala did indeed defend Israel's right to exist and ensure their safety and reiterate the United States' support for them. She also said she would work toward a ceasefire in Gaza, and work toward the Palestinian "right to dignity, security, freedom, and self-determination." Those were her words. So if you refuse to vote for Kamala at this point, or go balls to the wall insane and vote for Trump, know you're not actually abstaining/"revenge voting" for or in support of Palestine because one candidate is calling for their freedom, and the other wants them obliterated—and it's not Kamala.
To anyone considering not voting because of the Palestinian genocide, I have this to ask:
How many Palestinian people do you think you're helping by laying back and inviting the GOP to crush you under foot? Self flagellation didn't cure The Plague, and it won't fix this situation either.
If you don't like the idea of voting for Harris, I doubt I'll be able to change your mind, but consider this: 468 congressional seats out of a total 535 are up for re-election THIS NOVEMBER. You want to make the government start actually representing the will of the people? Start there.
We're living in frightening times, and apathy is a very comfortable state of being, but you need to act. If you don't, who will?

Well. Apparently I was much more stressed about the election than I thought because I watched this and started crying.
I forgot what it was like to have actual charismatic politicians campaign. I know we talk a lot about parasocial relationships with them, but one of the things successful leaders do is inspire their people.
We have not had much to be inspired about. Biden is the unflavored tofu of the political world. I was going to do my duty, but nothing beyond that.
Watching other people be hype about her? So hype a majority of the people on ActBlue are first time donors? That 40K Zoom call? (They held another one for Black men and there were 20K on that.)
That fucking means something.
She doesn't have it in the bag (and honestly I'll be anxious until it's over), but I feel like we have a much better chance than before Biden bowed out.
In a lot of liberal/leftist circles there is this unspoken expectation that Black women will do the work because it is necessary but backbreaking. And sometimes I think non-Black people understand and are grateful. But also a lot don't and aren't.
With that in mind, I am absolutely serious when I say I think Kamala Harris might prevent the US from falling to fascism.
DONT TAKE YOUR EYES OFF THIS FUCKER
