When you get a look at him walking down the street in his turtleneck sweater and blazer, with his hair flowing in a perfect low ponytail, amber eyes practically glowing golden in the sunlight and that dashing smile on his lips, youâd think he was a god who had descended upon the earth to grace everyone with his presence.
Heâs the ideal man; well mannered with his gentlemanly gesture, a silky deep voice that had you entrapped in his knowledgable talks of history and the sort, and how can we forget about his tall build and great looks? Really a one in a million kind of man.
Men and women admired how he carried himself during formal events, a wine glass in his hand and a warm smile on his face as he entertained the crowd, even though it wasnât him hosting, most of the time.
During the day, heâs usually deep into his work, analysing various rock samples and writing down his reports, pushing the thin metal reading glasses up the bridge of his nose without his concentration flickering the slightest. Sometimes his eyes would flicker to the felt framed picture standing on his desk, him with two little kids in his arms, the three of them grinning widely.
When Zhongli is in job mode, stopping him is almost an impossible feat since heâs always so engrossed in the rocks that lay on the table.
His job as a lead geologist, working at the Natural History Museum never felt like a job to him, since his passion was in understanding the mysteries and beauties of Earth. History had always interested him ever since he was a child.
Heâd often been invited to various exhibitions with other well-known people, and whenever he opened his mouth to talk of the beauty of the cor lapis or the noctilucous jade, a crowd gathered around him.
His job was well paying, really well paying. He had an apartment in one of the richer parts of town and if anyone ever had the pleasure of being invited to one of the parties he hosted, theyâd be in awe of the sleek interiors and various geodes that decorated the rooms.
Everyone loved him for who he was, loved him so much that theyâd even offer to pay for his meal if he ever forgot his wallet at home, an event that occurred one too many times. Of course, he would send a gift basket to their homes as a form of thanks.
Out of all the people who loved him, there were two little angels whose love surpassed everyone elseâs, and who he loved in equal -possibly greater- amounts. His daughter of 7, Ganyu and his younger son of 3, Xiao.
He tries his best to balance his job and kids, and it shows. He always tried to take out time for his two children, making sure to come home on time to eat dinner with them and tuck them in, reading them their favourite bedtime stories and kissing them goodnight.
If ever he couldnât make it home due to reasons, his assistant and kind-of babysitter, Aether was always there to take care of the kids. He was practically their elder brother by now, with how often he was with the kids, having known them for over 2 years.
Xiao, his little son, was a very naughty boy. Always throwing a fit and making life harder for Zhongli, and Aether whenever the poor man was left to care for the child. He wants the same book read to him every night, he wants 3 kisses before he sleeps and he must have his dragon stuffed toy or elseâŚ
Zhongli made a note to start disciplining Xiao since he was to start going to daycare soon, and he would have to behave well over there. Maybe he needs a little motivation. Something sweetâŚ
To stop Xiao from crying about how the green paint didnât colour his hair green permanently or how his feet were Missing when he put on his shoes, simply pass him a bowl of sweet almond tofu. In an instant, his sobs would dissipate as he starts stuffing his tiny mouth with the dessert. Zhongli would find it so amusing at times, giggling while wiping the syrup off of Xiaoâs little lips.
Ganyu, his elder child, was mature much beyond her age. She loved drawing, loved doodling flowers and deer, like sketches littering her art books. Zhongli was always filled with pride whenever she showcased some of her artworks to his guests, enjoying how they gushed over her skill.
She loved playing with her dolls and dressing them up, saying that when she grows up, sheâs going to make pretty dresses for her dolls to wear. She even promised her papa that she would make him a pretty princess gown and Zhongli laughed heartily, patting her head and telling her that heâd be looking forward to that day.
Ganyu was a quiet child and didnât really like going to school since there were so many kids everywhere. Zhongli was there to comfort her, dropping her off at school and telling her to have a great day. He would also personally ensure that her lunch is packed and her bag has her homework.
First grade went smoothly, she even made a friend, Keqing. Zhongli was happy for her, seeing her open up and enjoy school. On a random day during second grade, she went in all excited, brighter than the sun that morning. But when Zhongli came to pick her up in the afternoon, a little(much) later than usual, his heart broke to see her crying figure curled in the lap of some woman sitting on the stairs at the main gate of the school. A reallyâŚpretty woman.
With work and his children, the question of finding love again⌠never came up.
Well, he did get tricked into going on blind dates, all thanks to his stupid friend Childe. But it just never worked out. All the women he met were peculiar. Some of them very obviously wanted him for his wealth, some of them just wanted to have a good time, and then some who he thought were nice, they just couldnât handle taking care of children so fresh into the relationship.
Maybe he just wasnât meant to have a lover again. Well, he did think he needed one nor did he think he could add romantic relations to his tight schedule. He had his sweet angels, he had his work. That was his life.
The desire to find love had long flickered away, all being left was the smoke coming from a dying candle.
But something sparked in him when that pretty woman raised her head and made eye contact with him, her smile so warm and serene.
âHello. Do you happen to be Ganyuâs father?â You softly smiled at the man as he approached you in long, hurried strides. The school grounds were empty and the sun was almost setting down the horizon. Zhongli was very, very late that day. He gave a quick nod and kneeled in front of you, reaching to touch the shoulders of his quivering daughter.
âAngel? Whatâs wrong?â He tried prying her off you but all she did was shake her head and dig her nose deeper into your neck, clutching the neckline of your lilac tee in her small fingers. Zhongli was taken aback. His daughter was refusing his embrace?
His eyes searched yours for an answer as you shushed the crying child and patted her hair. âSheâs upset that you arrivedâŚlater than the other parents. She thought you forgot about her.â Your brows furrow when her crying increases at your words. Zhongli sighed, a small smile appearing on his lips a second later.
He mouthed a thank you while sitting beside you so that his daughter could get a better view of him. âGanyu, my little angel. Iâm sorry for coming late, I promise Iâll buy you some ice cream to make up. Donât you want to go home now?â He whispered, dropping his head down for him to look into her eyes, something he couldnât do because of how snuggly she had been wrapped in your arms, face hidden against your skin. When he reached to cradle her red cheeks, Ganyu swatted her fatherâs hand away and vigorously shook her head against your neck. âNo! I donât want to talk to papa ever again.â She spoke, cries muffled.
Zhongli was at a loss for words. He was really sorry for his mistake and forgetting to tell Aether to pick Ganyu from school. He wanted to express his apology but what was he supposed to do now? Heâs never had to encounter a situation when his perfect daughter acted out.
Again he looked at you with a desperate expression, pleading for some help. You gave him a subtle nod and looked back at Ganyu who was huddled up in your lap. You brushed away her falling tears with your thumb before talking to her in a hushed tone. âGanyu, can you look at Miss Y/N for a moment? Please?â Zhongli felt his heart skip a beat at your honey-like voice, his astonishment increasing further when Ganyu pulled away to look into your eyes, occasionally hiccuping and wiping away her tears with the back of her sleeves.
You looked at her with a gentle understanding gaze, pulling out a handkerchief from your pocket for her to blow her nose. âAre you angry at papa?â You ask her, puffing your cheeks in exaggerated crossness, rousing a little giggle from her.
âYesâŚpapa forgot about me.â She sniffled, messily wiping her face with the cotton cloth. You tilt your head to the side and look at her questioningly. âBut if papa forgot you, then why is he here to pick you up?â Your question made the little girl dart her gaze to Zhongli, who still had an ashamed smile on his face.
âPapa didnât forget about Ganyu! How could he forget about his sweet little angel!â You make reference of the pet name Zhongli used for her, quickly catching his expression to see for any discomfort. Thankfully all you got in return was a charming smile. You poke Ganyu in her tummy, the ticklish feeling causing her to fall into a fit of laughter.
Seeing his daughter much calmer now, Zhongli tried again to pull her into his arms and this time she let him do so. He picked her from your lap and brought her in his own, hugging her tightly like he had never before, giving her the warmth and fatherly reassurance she needed. âI am so sorry Ganyu. Papa will be careful from next time, promise.â He vowed, giving her a kiss on her forehead.
You couldnât help but feel your heart melt at the father-daughter bonding the two of them shared. The way he held her like the most precious being in the universe, it made you smile. Feeling the weight of a gaze upon him, Zhongli glanced at you, your eyes meeting and holding contact for a second too long.
âOh, I am extremely sorry for coming late today. I assure you this is the first and last time this is happening. I hope it wasnât too much trouble for you to stay and look after her.â Zhongli stood up and bowed slightly, holding Ganyu on his hip. He felt really bad for having put you in a position where you had no choice but to care for his daughter. Being a teacher, you surely had lots of work and other things to do, and he really appreciated you looking after Ganyu in his absence.
You laugh and wave your hands in front of you, brushing off his worry. âThat is alright sir. Ganyu is a student of mine, and sheâs no less than a daughter to me. Taking care of her is second nature to me.â You walk closer and pinch the girlâs cheeks and give her a wide smile, pulling a similar one from her.
When you took in a breath, the subtle smell of pinewood filled your senses, the smell of Zhongliâs cologne. Your face tipped up to see how close you were standing to the male and to respect his personal space, you took a step back, blushing profoundly. Only, Zhongli didnât mind you standing so close to him, he quite liked it. But it wasnât appropriate for him to voice those thoughts so he stayed silent on the matter.
Zhongli sighed in short-lived relief. âThough I am going to have to scold you for being late. Ganyu how do people who come to class late apologise?â You cross your arms playfully. Ganyuâs eyes light up as she tugs the lapelâs of her father's jacket. âPapa you will have to write on a paper âI am sorry for coming lateâ! You have to write it 20 times!â She exclaimed.
âOf course angel, Iâll get right to it when we get home okay?â He promised, giving a little oomph when Ganyu hugged his neck out of the blue. When you giggled softly, Zhongli peeked at you. That laugh of yours pulled his heartstrings and he joined you, the two of you giggling together.
âIf that is all, then I should be bidding you farewell, MisterâŚâ You trailed off, wordlessly asking the male in front of you for his name. He coughed and extended his free hand for you to shake. âZhongli. Please, just Zhongli is enough.â Your smaller hand wrapped around his and your fingers felt so soft, Zhongli wondered if youâd held the clouds in your hands at some point during the day.
âI am Y/N. It is a pleasure to meet you, Zhongli.â His name coming from your lips felt so perfect. Never before had he felt warmth blooming across his face when someone spoke his name. This feeling was so strange yet so right at the same time.
The beginning of something wonderful and memorable.
Zhongli gazed at you warmly, âThe pleasure is all mine Y/N.â
Aether was the most surprised, seeing Zhongli return with Ganyu in his arms and a giddy grin on his lips. You could practically see the halo of pink hearts floating around his head. âYou look like youâre in a good mood. Whatâs up?â Aether chuckled, setting little Xiao in his seat and walking to take Ganyu and give her supper.
Zhongli snapped back to his original self, trying to gather his composure while walking into his house. âNothing much, just met Ganyuâs teacher today.â Aether didnât think much of it, brushing it off as a parent-teacher meeting, but sweet angel Ganyu had to open her mouth.
âAether, Miss Y/N is the best teacher ever! She is so pretty and she makes me laugh and she even made papa laugh today. If Y/N didnât help papa then I would still be mad at him. Even papa thinks Miss Y/N is pretty, right papa?â She blurted out, then proceeded to stuff her face with mashed potatoes.
The younger male glanced at his superior, smiling in amusement at the scarlet red blush that covered his embarrassed face. âOh, is that so Zhongli?â He teased, giving him a knowing look.
To ease a forming lump in his throat, Zhongli walked to the fridge to grab himself a glass of water. âYes, she is quiteâŚbeautiful and sweet. She was really nice to Ganyu when she started crying and it was very kind of her to take care of Ganyu when I reached to pick her up late andâŚIâm not going to speak any further for I donât wish to embarrass myself more.â Zhongli gulped down the liquid and averted Aetherâs gaze, one filled with mock and tease.
Days later Zhongli was still thinking about the attractive, kind teacher he met. Did he say attractive? Well, you definitely were, since he did find himself get attracted to you. Your smile and gentle eyes peering at him had etched themselves into his daydreams. It was quite strange, he never felt this sort of tightness in his chest before whenever he met another woman. But you, oh dear you, you had stained every vacant thought of his ever since that afternoon.
A knock on his bedroom door snapped him out of his thoughts. âAhem, come in!â He called out, expecting it to be Aether with some reports or something of the sort. Only to his surprise, his daughter walked in, a sheet of paper and a bright red crayon in her hands.
âHello angel. Whatâs the matter.â Zhongli spun in his chair and leaned down to lift his daughter in his arms, seating her on his lap. She laid the paper on top of his work and handed him the red crayon. âPapa you still have to write the apology to Miss Y/N! You have to write âI am sorry for coming lateâ 20 times! Papa you promised!â The little girl huffed.
Zhongli laughed, but upon seeing Ganyuâs serious expression, his jest died down. She really did want him to write the apology. âOf course angel, Iâll start right away.â Even when he said that she refused to move from his lap until he started writing.
For his comfort, he used his own pen, the ink gliding across the sheet in his calligraphic handwriting. Whenever he finished writing down one sentence, his daughter cheered and counted down, a method of motivation which she had learnt from her teacher, she informed. Zhongli smiled to himself. Beautiful and smart. This woman kept surprising her.
âAndddd done!â He announced, putting a full stop at the end of his 20th sentence. He had to admit, even though he writes pages worth of writing in a single sitting, this punishment felt very taxing.
âYay! Congratulations papa! Now when you give it to Miss Y/N tomorrow, she will surely give you a gold star.â His eyes widened and his cheeks warmed. âYou want me to come to give it to her?â He inquired, making sure he heard her right the first time. Ganyu rolled her eyes dramatically, âOf course papa. If I give it to her, then she will think that I wrote the apology.â
Her reasoning was very valid for a 7-year-old, so Zhongli shrugged and decided to go along with it. âThen I shall come with you tomorrow.â He smiled. What a perfect opportunity to get to meet you again.
The next day when Zhongli woke up to take Ganyu to school, he feltâŚmore eager to do that daily task. While getting ready, he spritzed on his favourite cologne, one which he saved for special occasions, he wore one of his better coats and sweaters and he made sure his hair looked better than it usually did. He thought to himself, âwhy am I dressing up so much? What is going on with me?â
And all his questions were answered when he walked into the school grounds and saw your smile as you greeted the other children and parents. You were practically glowing, shining brighter than a diamond in the moonlight. You walked to the children who were reluctant to leave their parents and you encouraged them, gave them the confidence to join you in your classroom.
âPapa come! We need to meet Miss Y/N before you go!â Ganyuâs excited figure pulled Zhongli through the crowd of adults and kids until he found himself standing a few feet from you. He froze up when Ganyu left his hand and darted towards you, engulfing your leg in a bear hug. He should also greet you, itâs polite to do so.
âGood morning, Ganyu! How are you today?â You kneeled to her eye level and conversed with her, grinning at her enthusiastic replies. âI am very good! I was a big girl yesterday and I made papa write the sorry note for you. Please give him a gold star!â
Your E/C trailed up to the man who stood behind Ganyu, his lips turned in a lopsided grin. âOh is that so?â You look at him with a playfulness in your tender gaze, he couldnât stop his heart rate from increasing.
He pulled out the slip of paper from his pocket and handed it to you, praying that when you take it from him, your hands would meet. He really wanted to feel your feather-soft touch once again. And thankfully the archons above heard his prayers for when you reached out to grab the paper, you lightly touched his warm hand, your touch sending waves of homeliness through him. Was it too soon to describe that feeling as homeliness? Maybe, but that word was just perfect to describe the sensation taking over him.
A delighted giggle escaped your lips as you unfolded the paper to find that he had indeed written the apology 20 times. You were amazed by his beautiful handwriting, almost finding it hard to believe that he wrote it and it wasnât the product of a professional calligraphy artist.
âGanyu, why donât you go join your friends in class? I am sure Keqing is waiting for you.â You wink at her, seeing her bubble excitedly. She gave her father a quick hug and ran inside, leaving you and Zhongli standing in front of each other.
âShe never stops talking about you.â You beam at him starting a conversation as the other students started crowding into the main building. The pride that filled his amber eyes beckoned you to speak further, wanting to see more of his handsome expression.
âShe admires and idolises you, Zhongli. She always tells all her friends bout how her papa knows everything about the earth and she even told us stories about how the Liyuan Canyon was formed as a result of years of erosion by the river. She had the whole class captivated, Iâve never seen the students so quiet and interested in history.â You giggle as he sheepishly laughs and rubs his neck.
âThank you for your kind words. Though I must express, you are a role model for her as well. She always talks about the pretty teacher who pays attention to all the studentsâ needs and encourages her to perform her bestâ He complimented, only realising he called you pretty when he recalled his words after seeing you blush. âOh dear, I am really sorry. That was not professional of me.â He spluttered. âWhat happened to the calm and composed Zhongli?â He cursed himself.
âI donât mind the compliment Zhongli. Thank you.â You looked to the side to avoid his eyes, but when you noticed the emptiness around you, you realised that you had a class to take care of. âI should probably get back to my students.â You patted your clothes out of instinct as you waved at him and turned to walk away.
Zhongli mistook your hurry as discomfort from calling you pretty. Just as he was about to scowl at himself, you looked over your shoulder and grabbed his attention. âAnd about your gold star, how about I give it to you when you come to pick Ganyu in the afternoon?â Your offer to hang out with him for a while longer did not go unnoticed.
He stood tall and fixed his blazer, mirroring your gentle smile. âIâll be looking forward to my reward.â
That afternoon he was greeted with you waiting to put a gold star sticker on the breast pocket of his blazer, Ganyu getting excited at how her father got his first sticker. All day that day, he subconsciously ran his fingers over the smooth star-shaped sticker, smiling to himself.
From that day, your relation progressed from father and teacher to some sort of friends.
In the crowd, his face was the one youâd always be most eager to see and he yours.
The two of you would talk of trivial topics before the school bell rang and you had to leave for your respective job; and in the afternoons he would stay back a little longer, your conversations drawing him in as Ganyu played in the grounds.
Your nightingale like voice and childlike expression whenever you spoke of something that excited you made him sigh in happiness. His mind was all fuzzy and he felt like he could spend hours just hearing you talk and admiring your beautiful features.
Conversations with you were never dull, you always kept Zhongli on his toes with the tales you had to offer about your teaching experience and he entertained you with historical stories that had your interests piqued.
One day you told him that Ganyu mentioned during a presentation that she had a little brother and you were hoping to see a picture of him. Happy to fulfil your request, Zhongli pulled out his phone and swiped through the gallery, showing you various pictures of him, Ganyu and Xiao.
He laughed heartily when you snatched his device and gushed over his younger child, commenting about how much he resembles his father. You even requested to meet him someday and Zhongli was more than excited for you to meet Xiao.
The first time you met Xiao, Zhongli was slightly nervous, constantly reminding Xiao to be on his best behaviour. He knew it would be hard for a toddler to follow such strict instructions, but a man could dream.
To his surprise, Xiao was much more mannered when you walked over and greeted him in your baby voice. His eyes were wide and head tilted to get a better look at your face from his fatherâs arms.
Looking at Zhongli for perMission to hold him and receiving a nod in return, you opened your arms, getting ready to hold him. Zhongli expected his son to shrink back, but Xiaoâs eagerness to jump into your arms startled him.
Picking up the 3-year-old on your hip, you asked him questions such as his name and age, cooing whenever he answered. Your praises embarrassed him and he hid himself in your hair, softly playing with your H/C ends.
âIâve never seen him this quiet. Are you sure youâre not a divine being?â Zhongliâs eyes lidded as he exhaled deeply, a lovestruck expression drawn on his face. You blushed at his words and gave your much more accurate reply. âI guess I am just good with children. I like them and they like me, isnât that true little Xiao.â You booped his nose and he snorted a laugh in return, proving your claim.
The 15 minutes he stayed back turned into an hour, the three of you walking to a nearby park and sitting on a bench while Ganyu tried catching butterflies in her little fingers.
Often Zhongli would buy you some coffee or tea from a local cafe, whatever is your preference. Many a time you told him that he had no need to, but he insisted, saying that it was a treat, from one friend to another.
In the chilly autumn afternoons, with the sunâs dim light shining between the withering leaves, Zhongli came to fall in love with you, staring at your features as you cradled Xiao in your lap, poking his nose and laughing with Ganyu whenever he sneezed cutely.
But, what was he to do with these feelings?
âPapa! Papa!â His little daughter burst into his room, with Aether and Xiao trailing behind her. Zhongliâs eyes darted up from his work and he took off his specs, jumping from his seat to kneel in front of his frantic daughter. âGanyu? Is everything alright?â His eyes scanned her for any injuries, raising an eyebrow when he saw her with an ear to ear smile.
âPapa it is Miss Y/Nâs birthday tomorrow! We have to specially meet her tomorrow! We have to make her a card and buy her a gift! We need to buy her a pretty diamond necklace.â Ganyu rambled on, various gift ideas pouring out her mind. Zhongli smiled and shook his head. âYes, we do need to buy her a pretty gift. Why donât you go put on some shoes and weâll go shopping right now?â Ganyu squealed and ran out of the room.
âAh is this the reason you declined day after tomorrowâs invitation to the Historian Meet?â Aether wiggled his eyebrows at Zhongli, causing him to roll his eyes at Aetherâs childishness. âItâs nothing like that. Y/N invited us to her house for her birthday dinner and I thought it would be quite rude to decline her offer over something that happens every second month.â He tried justifying himself. A simpler reason would have been, âI like her and I want to spend more time with her.â
That year her birthday fell on a Saturday and she had invited Zhongli and his children for a celebration dinner on Sunday, just the 4 of them. When she asked him over the phone if he could make it, Zhongli nodded like an eager child and then slapped his forehead in realisation that she couldnât see him.
In the afternoon, Zhongli and Aether took Ganyu and Xiao to the shopping complex, and the two children who would usually be so engrossed in buying for themselves, their only goal for today was to find the perfect gift go you.
âPapa should we buy her a dress? I want to pick a dress for her!â Ganyu whined and pulled the others into a boutique. âIâll take care of Xiao while you help Ganyu select a gift.â Aether declared, leaving the father to fend for himself.
A good 20 minutes it took for the 7-year-old to select a dress, with the assistance of her father and a store clerk. Zhongli was in awe of the floor-length mermaid shaped silver dress that Ganyu tugged from the shelves, proclaiming that it was the perfect gift for Miss Y/N. He sure hoped that his estimate of her dress size was accurate enough to fit her.
This is a very good choice Angel. You really like Miss Y/N, donât you?â Zhongli gave her a close eyed smile, paying for the dress at the check out counter. She nodded vigorously, âYes! Miss Y/N is my favourite and I know sheâs your favourite too!â Zhongli choked on air as the cashier subtly smirked, having overheard their conversation.
âGanyu! You donât speak like that in public!â Zhongli spoke sternly but didnât deny her statement. âSir, I know itâs not my place to say, but would you like to check out our selection of pendants? Maybe you could find something of your liking.â The cashier offered, gesturing to the display of necklaces and gems aplenty.
Zhongli hummed to himself. A pendant would be a nice gift, holding great emotion and even hints of intimacy. He felt a tug on his pants and his daughter was having thoughts that overlapped with his. Maybe a necklace would be a perfect gift along with the dress.
Finally, the night of the dinner came. You were getting restless, repeatedly smoothening your knee-length dress while checking your make up in the mirror. How this night would end, you had no knowledge. But you really wanted to try your best, hoping to woo the man you had been developing feelings for.
When the bell rang, your heart pumped faster in your chest as you darted across your small apartment to open the door. There on the other side was Zhongli, Xiao on his hip and Ganyu standing beside him, clinging to his pants. Behind them was a blonde man youâve never seen before, who you assumed to be Aether by the description Zhongli had given you in the past.
âGood evening Y/N. Wishing you the happiest birthday.â Zhongli leaned forward and pressed an air kiss to either of your cheeks in greeting. Seeing the way his father kissed your cheeks, Xiao reached forward and wrapped his hands around your neck, the suddenness of his action making you jolt forward to catch him and Zhongli scrambling to catch you with his free hand, in case you fall. Xiao cutely pressed a big kiss to your right cheek and then your left, mumbling a small hello.
Your face turned ruby red. But not at the childâs kiss. Zhongliâs hand was firmly gripping your waist as he held Xiao, the boy leaning on you in a very awkward position. The tension was thick, your eyes stayed fixed on Zhongliâs bright eyes as even he found it hard to tear away from his gaze from yours.
Thankfully, a deliberate cough from Aether helped snap you back to reality. âLet me hold him. And please! Do come in.â You took Xiao from Zhongliâs arms and opened the door wider, letting the 3 of them in. âI hope you donât mind me calling Aether along, I required some assistance with the children.â He apologised.
âNonsense! I am so happy to finally put a face to the name. It is great to finally meet you Aether. Zhongli doesnât stop talking about how helpful you are, be it with his kids or in general.â You extend your free hand to shake his, getting a cheeky smile from him in return. âIt is wonderful to finally see the Y/N that has Mr Zhongli daydreaming and-.â
âOh by the way, here is your present. Ganyu selected it herself.â Zhongli grinned and took a well-wrapped box from Aether, preventing him from talking any further. You giggled at his obviousness and walked to the couch, sitting down and pouring some drinks for everyone, handing the kids a carton of fruit juice each.
âCome on Miss Y/N! Open your present!â Ganyu bounced on the couch in excitement, pushing the box further up your lap. Zhongli was ready to tell her off for misbehaving, but you quickly puller her to your side and together started ripping off the nicely done wrapping paper. Zhongli hissed internally at how messy the two of you were being, but seeing to smile at Ganyuâs elated figure, he guessed that you did that for her happiness.
âI hope you like it Miss Y/N!â Ganyu played with her fingers as you lifted the lid of the box. Even Zhongli sat on the edge of his seat, waiting to see your reaction. He was more than pleased when you gasped and squealed, pulling out the sequinned fabric of the dress. You stood up and pressed the clothing to your chest, the dress draping in front of you. Zhongli imagined you in that dress, looking absolutely stunning with your current makeup and hairdo. He could hear the drumming of his heart in his ears, but that wasnât able to drown out the sounds of you thanking him for buying you such a wonderful present.
âPlease, I wanted to treat you. A wonderful person such as yourself only deserves the best.â He beamed as you folded the dress and carefully put it back in the box, ready to store it to be worn on a special occasion.
After a little more talking and laughing, the children started complaining about feeling hungry. Seeing the clock, you clapped your hands and announced that it was indeed time for dinner.
Once you seated everyone at the dining table and disappeared into the kitchen to bring dinner, Aether kicked Zhongli from under the table. Aetherâs wide eyes and curled lips along with his head tilting towards the kitchen struck Zhongli as an instruction to go help Y/N. Not only out of politeness but also for some alone time.
He left the table and walked into the kitchen to see you gathering plates and bowls for everyone. He offered to help and even after you denying, he was resilient. Finally, you gave up and let him lend a hand, setting the plates and cutlery on the table.
He helped you carry all the dishes you prepared by hand. He wasnât very happy that you went through the pain of cooking everything, especially since it was your birthday celebration, but the flavourful smell wafting through the air made him look forward to the meal.
At one point during the set up, the two of you reached for the same pot of curry sitting atop the counter, your fingers making contact. Like lovestruck teenagers, you stared at each other and started blushing, both offering to take it out instead. Using your âmy house, my rulesâ ability, you went and placed the final serving bowl on the table, with Zhongli trailing behind you only a breath away, bumping into you when you suddenly turned.
âDig in!â You announced and everyone started eating. Moans of satisfaction and exclamations of âso yummy!â filled the dining room, making you bashful.
Zhongli praised your cooking, telling you how heâs never tasted such delicious home cooked food and if he had a choice, he would eat such food for the rest of his life. Only when he was drinking water did he realise the implied meaning of his words. When he looked at you, he was relieved to see you smiling at him, in a way that showed that you accepted that hidden meaning. Could it beâŚ
Dinner went by as smooth as it could. Yes, Xiao did start crying about how he did not want to eat his vegetable because they were yucky. Aether and Zhongli tried their best to convince him to eat, using methods such as the aeroplane and the chop chop train, but all in vain. Thankfully you stepped in to save the day.
Only when you did the aeroplane did Xiao agree to eat! He was happily eating the beans from your fork as if that was his plan all along, to be fed by you. You laughed at how Zhongliâs mouth was hung open. His own son had betrayed him, he wasnât going to forget that ever.
Zhongli seemed to find more and more things about you to admire, from the way you were able to keep his children well behaved and still joyous with your humorous anecdotes to how you gelled well with Aether, laughing with him about Zhongliâs embarrassing parenting moments.
Eventually, dinner came to an end. Xiao very conveniently crawled into his fatherâs lap during dinner and fell asleep against his shoulder and Ganyuâs head was lolling around as she struggled to keep her eyes open.
Aether announced that it was time for him to take the children home since it was much past their bedtime and they had school the next day. As you went to shake Ganyu awake, she grabbed your hand and pulled your face down so that she could whisper in your ear.
âPapa has a special gift for you. I hope you like it.â And she was out like a light bulb.
You smiled to yourself and carried her downstairs, not wanting to bother the father or his friend with the task. Aether was quite thankful and once you were walking down the stairs, he caught Zhongliâs eye and winked at him teasingly, enjoying the reawakening blush on his face.
You and Zhongli set his kids in the backseat and buckled them up snuggly. Aether and Zhongli spoke a while and you not wanting to pry in their conversation continued to make the kids feel comfortable in their seats. A smile graced your face and their sleepy figures as you closed the door.
Aether stepped into the car and waved at you and Zhongli, the male finding his spot beside you.
âAre you staying a little longer?â You asked, hoping that he wasnât going to head off for some last minute meeting or anything. Zhongli turned around to face your apartment building, lifting his arm and sticking out his elbow for you to grab. âIâll stay if you want me to.â
You beamed at his offer and grabbed his forearm, walking with him back to your house. âAh, I completely forgot about the cake!â You walked to the kitchen with Zhongli trailing behind you. From the fridge, you pulled out a small chocolate cake with Happy Birthday frosted on in royal red icing. âMy cousin is a baker and she sent it for me. I was really hoping to share it with you and your kids.â You chuckle nervously, placing the cake on the coffee table in front of the couch.
âWell, maybe you can cut it in my presence and bring it over tomorrow to my place. We can have it along with a nice cup of coffee if youâll accept my invitation.â He spoke while lighting up the birthday candles, both of you sitting side by side on the couch, your bodies almost touching. All either of you needed was a little encouraging push.
You nodded at him and picked up the knife. âWell, time to blow out the candles and make a wish!â You exclaim, closing your eyes and leaning forward. You were silent for a second, making your wish and once you opened your eyes, you blew the candles. Zhongli clapped as you cut a slice and before you could pick it up, he beat you to it, lifting the confectionary to your lips. âBirthday girl gets the first bite.â
You couldnât deny the tension in the air when you wrapped your fingers around his wrist to guide the cake to your mouth. He couldnât deny the feelings bubbling in his heart when you laughed with a face full of chocolate. Both of you could read the others eyes when he leaned forward to swipe some frosting off your lips.
âIâŚI umm brought you a gift. Apart from the dress.â He blushed and reached into his blazer pocket, pulling out a long velvet box. He sat up in front of you and opened the box to reveal a pendant- a gorgeous pearl-shaped one, the gem of a soft pink shade sparkling in the lighting of your house.
âZhongliâŚthis is so beautiful.â You hesitated to touch the gift, not knowing its monetary worth, but with his encouragement, you reach forward to brush your fingers against the silver chain and the glistening gem. You looked away from the necklace and saw his gentle eyes on you, taking in your fascinated expression. âZhongliâŚcan you help me put it on?â
He was taken aback by your request. Asking him to help you with your necklace, it was a direct request to be touched, for him to brush his fingers in butterfly soft motions over your skin. A request for intimacy.
He gulped and nodded, carefully picking the necklace out of its case while you turned around and lifted your hair, exposing your neck. The sweet smell of your perfume hit his nose and it was a lucky coincidence that you were unable to see his shaking fingering and red ears.
âThis gem, itâs a rose quartz. And it does have someâŚmeaning, if you wish to put it that way.â You shivered when the cold metal touched your collarbone, it sliding up your skin as Zhongli tried to clasp it behind your neck. You could feel his breath fan over the nape of your neck. âWhatâs its significance.â You whispered, the tone of the rooming dimming down.
âItâŚItâs a symbol of unconditional love. Of the purest and sincerest of emotions, from one person to another.â The click of metal signalled that the necklace was locked around your neck. You looked down to admire it in your fingers, giving great attention to how Zhongliâs hands dropped down to your waist. He shuffled closer, closer enough for your back to hit his chest and his chin rest on your shoulder, his burning cheek right up against yours.
You allowed his faint embrace, leaning back to rest your weight against him. He hummed in your ear softly. You could feel his Adamâs apple bob nervously as if he was itching to speak. A moment later, he found the courage to pour out his feelings.
âY/N...I have a confession to make.â He pulled from you, causing you to shift in your seat and face him. You smile at his gentle smiling, feeling his hand reach up to cradle your cheek. Relaxing against his warmth, a satisfied breath escaped your lips as you slowly nodded your head, giving him to go to speak on.
âThe reason I chose this gem wasâŚas a confession of my growing feelings for you. I donât know how or when it happened, but now when I look into your eyes, IâŚthereâs no way around this.â He blushed bashfully and looked to the side, unable to collect his thoughts and convert them into words.
âZhongliâŚjust tell me what youâre feeling. Who knows, maybe Iâll reciprocate your feelingsâŚâ You lift your other hand to cover your pink cheeks. He chuckled lightly at slanted in your direction, till you could see the golden threads of his irises.
âWell then if I may be so bold to confessâŚY/N, I have developed romantic feelings for you. My confession is in no means a way for you to feel obligated to feel for me back-â He was going to ramble out a long apology after his small confession.
Your smile grew and you threw yourself into Zhongliâs arms, rubbing your nose against his neck. The overwhelming feeling of happiness was intoxicating as you giggled into his shoulder. âI like you too Zhongli. Like a lot.â Your confession, so simple yet filled with so many emotions, Zhongli laughed in relief hearing your words.
âI am so happy you feel that way.â His arms tightened around your waist, squeezing you in a bear hug. You squeal in his hold and pull your face away to see his soft happy smile. His smile faltered when he noticed how close your lips were to his, he could feel your warm breath on his lips, the sensation quite ticklish.
âMay IâŚmay I kiss you Y/N?â He gulped. Your lips brushed over his when you nodded and a wild part of him came to life.
His hands flew up to cup your cheeks as he pulled you in, placing his lips on top of yours with such gentleness, it made your head feel dizzy. His soft lips danced with yours in harmony, parting and meeting yours again and again. He delicately brushed his thumbs over your cheekbones, drawing you deeper into the kiss. Your hands dropped to his sweater, clutching the wool in your fingers. His kisses had you feeling drunk, and with every breath and gasp for air, you pulled him in for more.
You shifted closer to him till your thighs touched, every contact had electricity zooming through your nerves. Your fingers found the ends of his well-kept hair and shamelessly you tangled your digits in his soft chocolate locks, bringing him even closer if possible. His hands trailed down to your lower back, arching you closer to his body, till the warmth of your chest pressed against his. Your warmth⌠radiated that home like feeling again, and Zhongli welcomed that with open arms, holding you like the most precious being in the world.
Thoughts ran crazy in Zhongliâs head. He knew that if he ever had the opportunity to kiss you, your lips would feel so smooth against his, but he never expected it to feel soâŚperfect. As if his lips were made to kiss yours, fitting together like puzzle pieces. Butterflies flew crazily in his stomach, a sensation heâd completely forgotten about before he met you. You entered his life and gave him the love he didnât know he missed and now that he had a little taste, he craved more and more of you.
Separating for real this time, you panted, feelings his heavy breath against you. You lifted your head and bite your lip, stopping that huge grin from appearing on your face. Zhongli didnât want to hold back his happiness. He laughed and hugged you tight, peppering kisses on your cheeks.
âI am so happy youâve agreed to accept my feelings Y/N. So very happy.â He cheered, words trailing off as his eyes fell upon you again. He pecked your lips, once then twice, making sure the events that just happened werenât a dream.
âSo what does this mean for us? Do you think Ganyu and Xiao will be fine with you having a lover?â You hesitated with your words, trying to voice out your concerns. He understood your worries and grabbed your hands, bringing them up for him to place gentle kisses on your knuckles. âI think theyâd be quite welcoming. They love you already and having you join our little family would bring them great happiness. That is, if youâre ready to?â Zhongli whispered softly, knowing the responsibility you would be agreeing to if you accept.
You think for a minute, then flip your hands to place Zhongliâs on top, giving butterfly kisses to his nervous hands. âI donât know if I can think that far ahead. But what I know is that at this moment, I want to be with you, I want to be with Ganyu and Xiao. I want to see your face, first thing when I wake up and I want to kiss the children before they sleep. If youâll have me, the way I am?â
Zhongli didnât even need to give it a second thought, he was already nodding his head and pulling you against his chest, kissing you all over again. Hearing your angelic giggles and feeling your electrifying touch, Zhongli knew that for the first time in a long time, he was ready to love again.
Okay but like Akaashi with an s/o who always wants to be the bigger spoon and is always holding his hand and holding his face. But this one time she oversteps her boundaries and she retreats completely cause sheâs worried sheâll do it again. Pls do head canons or your take on it.
pairings: akaashi x reader
warnings: none
a/n: i wasn't 100% sure with what you wanted me to write, so i wrote what i thought was correct. i hope thats okay !!
akaashi is totally fine with you wanting to be the bigger spoon in the relationship
he's got nothing against it
however, as of lately
akaashi has noticed that there are times you feel down and start to pull away from him
which makes him somewhat concerned, as he feels like he might've done something wrong that's upset you or made you feel uncomfortable
he picks up on the fact that you pull away from him, yet he just doesn't have the right words to ask you if you're okay and if he's done something wrong
but when it comes more frequent, he starts to wonder why you start pulling away from him every now and then
you explain to him that you begin to pull away when you feel as if you're overstepping boundaries
akaashi is very understanding of this situation and that you feel like this,
he tells you to let him know if you're worried about what you're doing and even if you want to just ask him if it's okay if you can do what you want to do around him if you worry about him reacting badly

leviâs always been quiet around your friend group. itâs not because heâs shy, or because he doesnât like any of you (though to the untrained eye it may appear as such) - rather, he doesnât really have all that much to say. someone so perfectly content with observing the crowd, gathering bits and pieces of information no matter how mundane it appears to be.
he knows more about you all than heâll let on.
when you first joined the group, his stoic nature was something you figured stemmed from lack of interest or merely dislike. rarely did he engage in conversation or acknowledge your existence with much more than a short âhiâ.
it really wasnât until recently that you were proven wrong.
the six of you were all packed together in your friendâs dorm, savoring a night off from school and work and whatever else took up a good portion of free time. conversations were casual, talks of how shitty the week was or a bitch of a professor who apparently canât grade papers filling the room. you, excited to finally interject about how much you loved your new english literature class, waited patiently for your friends to finish before speaking up.
âyou guys, iâve been-â
youâre cut off by the person diagonally from you loudly complaining about their job.
donât give up; try again.
âi havenât told you all about my new class iâm loving-â
âstop talking for a second so i can hear this.â
your friendâs words poke holes in your chest. still, you donât want to quit now. theyâve had their chance to speak.
âcan i just-â
âoh my god, no one cares.â
the comment was of course, a joke. you should know that, right? everyoneâs laughing. it has to be. yet despite the teasing nature, as the group moves on to the next topic you canât help but wish for the couch to swallow you whole. intrusive thoughts begin to plague your mind as the world around you becomes mere background noise.
you make everything about you.
stop overpowering the conversations. clearly no one cares.
donât take this so seriously. have a sense of humor for once.
the words bite at your heart and you do your best to ignore them, to be a good friend and listen to whatever the hell is going on. just as youâre about to reel yourself back in, you feel something.
a tap on your shoulder.
your head whips to your left, where levi himself is sat on the couch at your side. in all the chaos you honestly forgot he was even here. not that he makes much of an effort to speak in the first place.
a small (dare you say friendly?) smile plays at the corner of his mouth.
âtell me about your class. i want to know more.â
steel eyes donât stray from yours. itâs a moment of pure shock before you recover enough to talk. heâs never shown interest before - not many people have, if youâre honest with yourself.
a beat, and your chest burns with gratitude.
happiness.
without further ado you launch into full detail, stopping every so often only for levi to urge you on as he absorbs every word. you canât help but grin as you speak, answering any and all questions he asks.
youâre surprised at how wrong your judgement of him was - yet you canât say youâre all that disappointed.

based on my real life friend scenarios and i can only wish i had a levi to help me out so i give you this messy and terribly written product of my daydreams.
hi i saw youâre taking requests! i really love your diluc scenarios im so obsessed <3 can you please do a scenario where diluc caught the reader adding his surname to their name (does this make sense đ like y/n ragnvindr) i think it would be so cute and funny at the same time, feel free to ignore if you dont like this prompt!!
OHH MY GODDD, the way i squealed at this request, i loved this so very much! thank you so much for requesting! đ
diluc ragnvindr x reader | 1k+ words
âwill you and your husband be needing anything else?â
husband, the word stops your heart and your movements. the thought of diluc adorning such a title, as your husband, has been in your mind from the moment you knew he was your one and only, though the words have never been spoken out loud until now. it was certainly something you could get used to.
âthis should be it, thank you.â
gripping the pen in your hand tighter, with a smile you canât suppress even if you tried your hardest, you return to writing down the last of the items you were ordering for diluc, as he remains busy talking with another merchant, until the last thing needed on the parchment was a name for the order. your heart flutters and your whole chest blossoms with warmth as you write your name followed by a surname that didnât yet belong to you. you stare at the letters and how perfectly his name looks with yours, someday would that really be your name?
and should you really have put that on an order for your yet to be husband? it was harmless, right? they were already putting it under the dawn wineries tab and diluc wouldnât see it, no one but the merchant that already thought you were his spouse would and yourself. yes, totally harmless even if did make you incredibly giddy.
with the order placed and diluc still being preoccupied with another, you decide to have a look around the store. its filled with parts for machinery that look similar to what youâve seen at the winery, jewelry, crystals, books and other odds and ends. they have quite the collection but with the odd list of items diluc needed itâs no wonder youâd come here even if it was all the way in qingce village.
behind all of the shelves and items you donât notice when diluc finishes with his conversations and makes his way back to the counter until heâs already there and calls your name. the sound of his voice, the small smile on his face that he often wears when speaking to you, pulls you in like a moth to a flame and you make your way to his side, letting your fingers brush against his gloved ones when you stop next to him, the heat he radiates warming the tips of your fingers.
âready to go?â you ask sweetly looking up at him, unable to not get lost in his ruby eyes when they stare at you so softly and lovingly. How you become so lucky to receive such love, youâll never know but youâd always accept it for as long as diluc was willing to give it to you.
âalmost, there were a few more items i think weâll need. did you see anything -â
his words are cut off by the merchant that helped you before. âmaster diluc, here you are.â
âah- yes,â he tears his attention away from you and reaches for the paper theyâve handed him âthank you.â
your arm is barely touching dilucs but even through such little contact you can feel his stiffen the moment both your eyes see the name listed on the order.
âdoes everything look okay with the new items iâve listed?â
the merchant's question goes unanswered for quite a while and you swear in the silence the only noise in the whole store is the erratic beating of your heart as you watch dilucs porcelain skin burn red and brighter than the hair on his head, from his cheeks to the tips of his ears. he seems so shocked he canât even find it in himself to try to cover his blushing cheeks like he normally would and your own cheeks arenât any better.
should you just run away in embarrassment and hope he doesnât question you about it later? oh good archons, what if he wasnât okay with this - marriage hasnât been a particularly big discussion youâve had but what if he wasnât ready and youâve overstepped? the longer he stays silent, his ember eyes glued to the paper in his hands the worse your anxieties grow.
itâs your brain talking over your heart that's making you worried and it is all for not. thereâs no doubt of dilucs love and devotion in your heart or his own and even though heâs not saying anything at this moment, the beating heart in his chest is screaming how much he loved to see this, even if it did surprise him so. he hadnât excepted it and archons does it send him through a whirlwind of emotions heâs having a hard time compressing until he could express them to you privately.
heâs known for a long time that he wanted you to be his forever, that one day he would ask you that very important question and heâs beyond grateful for the patience youâve shown him until this point. even if it took him a while to open up, his heart has always belonged to you, everything that was diluc ragnvindr was yours and seeing his surname written next to yours like it belonged to you only makes him think heâs been a bit foolish for waiting as long as he has. the ring in his nightstand thatâs been waiting to be placed on your finger is calling loudly for him, even in liyue he can hear it.
the air around you is almost uncomfortably hot, both of your blushes heating the entire store and the quietness only adds onto it all. you needed to break the tension before you both combust but the moment you go to speak his name and ask him if heâs alright he clears his throat and finally answers the merchant, his voice as it normally is even though his cheeks are still tinted a lovely shade of red and his lips are tugged into an usually unseen smile. his free hand finds yours, long fingers slipping between the spaces of your own and squeezing tenderly.
âahem.. yes, everything seems to be in order.â

Spider-Man!Atsumu who has a crush on the neighbor across the hall â you. He tries to keep you at armâs length at first, tries to keep you as just a friend and nothing more; his late-night, anonymous superhero gig doesnât afford him the luxury of functional relationships. But one too many evenings spent watching you smile and listening to you talk leaves affection swirling in his chest instead. Great, he thinks. Just great.
Spider-Man!Atsumu who doesnât realize heâs collapsing onto the floor of your apartment until heâs already hunched against the wall, mask halfway off and exposing his mouth. His breath is labored, ribs screaming in pain, but the sound of a shocked gasp draws his eyes up to meet yours. Oh shit.
Spider-Man!Atsumu who doesnât know youâve been just as enamored with him as heâs been with you, who doesnât know that youâve spent all this time memorizing the sound of his voice and the curve of his cupidâs bow. Youâd know that teasing smile anywhere, so before he can tug the mask down and explain the situation away with all the charm he can muster, youâre letting out a breathless, questioning call of his name. He deflates at the sound of your voice, yanking his mask off to reveal cuts and bruises littering his skin. You all but drag him off to the bathroom then, insisting that you can finally put your first aid kit to good use.
Spider-Man!Atsumu who allows himself to relax, to sink onto the lip of your tub, and be taken care of. He decides, with your fingers delicately dabbing hydrogen peroxide into his skin, that maybe his inner circle could stand to open just a little bit; that maybe he could make room for you in his secret world.

âDo you think it's a prank?â
âWhy is that the first thing that pops into your mind?â Keqing sighs as she fixes her makeup in front of a compact mirror, smacking her lips to spread the color evenly. âYou're really cute, [Name]. why wouldn't someone like you by now?â
Your face burns at the offhand comment. âYou're only saying that because we're friends.â
Ayaka giggles, twirling a lock of your hair with her finger. âOf course not. You're very adorable! If anything, it'd be more surprising if nobody likes you.â
âWho do you think it's from, though?â Ganyu quietly asks from beside you, observing the handful of carnations laying on your desk. Scanning the students currently present in the room, she thoughtfully adds, âmaybe someone on the shyer side since they couldn't give it to you directly?â
âOr someone who did it to be romantic,â Kokomi suggests, scrutinizing the flowers with keen eyes. âThat's quite nice of them.â
You hummed in contemplation, trying to figure out who placed it on your table. âAre you sure it's not a prank... or a mistake? You all sit beside me, so maybe they mistook my seat for yours-â
âYou're the only one who faithfully sits there, [Name]. We don't even have assigned seats so most of us sits wherever,â Keqing clarifies, staring at you with a disapproving look. âDon't deny it. You know it's yours.â
âBut I can't think of anyone who would like me!â you exclaim in defeat. âI am curious about who gave it, though... I should try to find out who it is...â
âMore importantly...â Ganyu smiles at you, noticing the blush dusting your cheeks. âWho do you want it to be?â
childe:
in all honesty, he's your first guess.
not because you think he likes you or anything! he's just a huge flirt.
at the beginning of the school year, you hardly got along. you know he's a friendly guy, but it's in the way that... intimidated you. he's part of the âmood makerâ clique, attracting attention wherever he goes, and you're not sure if you could handle his energy...
you preferred to stay away from the spotlight though that's a bit hypocritical considering you're friends with the prettiest group of girls in your year, and he relished in it. you didn't know if you could get along.
you didn't become friends until you were assigned partners for a project that meant a lot for your grade, and you vowed to yourself if you couldn't be close to him, you should at least be close enough to work together without trouble.
in the end, you surprisingly hit it off, childe easing the awkward air between you with jokes and random stories to tell about his weird friends. your friendship didn't end when the project did, and you continued to hang out outside of school. you're sure he didn't approach you to get closer to your friends, either; though you had some doubts at first, he was nothing alike with the jerks who tried to use you.
you're no stranger to the pranks he pulled, nor were you unaware of his flirty nature; he occasionally entertained the lot who fancied him when he attended drinking parties. so it made perfect sense if it was childe who gave those flowers, along with the gifts that followed after. it would just be him messing around again, right? oh, definitely! it wouldn't be the first time he spent his money in reckless abandon, bragging that he has the cash to spare for it.
but unexpectedly when you bring up the topic, his expression darkens, showing no sign of joking around. he looks a little shocked, too, to know someone was pursuing you.
âit's not from me,â he admits, gently taking your hand. âbut it's true that i like you.â
xiao:
xiao is one of the people you deliver presents to lol
due to his intimidating disposition (and the endless amount of nasty rumors swirling about him, thanks to said intimidating disposition), hardly anybody would dare to approach him, daunted by the perpetual scowl etched on his face. he remains as eye candy, but an entity no one could reach.
you avoided him at first, too. his face is admirable, you can say that much, but you've become somewhat desensitized from having been surrounded by pretty faces 24/7 so you can't really say it's anything new... and yes, you are scared of him to a certain degree. you could never guess what he's thinking.
you weren't sure if he's as scary as people make him out to be though, since people tend to exaggerate gossip for the sake of shock value. he once defended a middle schooler from high school delinquents (through persuasion and not with fists), but the story somehow twisted into another tale entirely detailing how xiao had brutally wiped the floor with their faces and painted the concrete floor with blood...
but as intimidating as he might seem, you don't think he's that kind of character. if you overlook his piercing glare and sharp tongue, he's quite decent.
... you thought that way until you caught him tailing you on your way home.
he crept up behind you, maintaining a natural distance, but after numerous twists and turns in hopes of leading him away, he had yet to cease heading towards your direction. you wouldn't be so suspicious if you hadn't purposely gone in circles around town, leading back to where you came from â which meant he didn't have a particular destination in mind, and fully intended on being hot on your tail.
tired of having bated breath waiting for his next move, you gathered all your courage and confronted him directly, cornering him to the nearest wall to assert dominance. xiao seemed startled by your forwardness, and you took his moment of vulnerability as an opportunity to interrogate him.
unexpectedly, he sheepishly confesses, âi'm not a stalker, i got worried since you're going home this late. haven't you heard about the crime rate these days...â
from there on, you suppose you could say you understood him better. though he's snappy and stern, he's not that terrifying, even sweet at times. when you become proper friends (and you stop suspecting him as your stalker), he saves you a seat next to him, or brings you coffee that you like when he notices you're sleepy in class.
it wasn't long until everybody came to know you were friends and a girl finally â you guessed it â asked you to send a love letter to xiao in her stead.
when you gave it to xiao, he was unusually flustered, flushed pink to the tips of his ears. his expression falls flat once you tell him it's from someone else, badly containing the disappointment to show on his face.
nevertheless, you continue to be friends, and xiao has learned not to expect much from you.
he's the earliest to arrive in class, so you ask him if he'd seen the person who gave you flowers. with a cold, hard look, he says no.
he's acting kind of weird, isn't he...
diluc:
the barista in the coffee shop near your university that has to put up with so much bullshit flirting everyday.
he has to reject people in a roundabout way, and you know he hates it, but of course he has to provide great customer service if he still wants customers right... directly breaking their hearts would only make problems.
but he takes no shit from rude customers.
no, you weren't one of them. in fact, diluc quite liked you a bit. first of all, you don't have any romantic interest for the staff, you genuinely enjoy his drinks (he knows because your face is like an open book), and you mind your own business. he tolerates you enough that he can make small talk with you and it doesn't upset him in the slightest.
so it really ticked him off when some idiot was bothering you in the cafe, starting an argument over a trivial matter that shouldn't be fussed over.
in normal circumstances, diluc would've done the usual protocol â reason with the angry customer, offer free products, and let them leave the premises peacefully. but the moment he saw the man grab your shoulders and you winced in pain as a result, he didn't even have to think of what to do next.
cold coffee rained down on the ill-mannered man's head, evoking a surprised scream out of him. his fingers left your body in favor of patting away the sticky liquid from his clothes, and you stared blankly at the seething figure behind him.
âyour order,â diluc announced, his voice tinted with rage. then he pretended to remember something, looking at the empty cup in his hand. âoh, i apologize. you ordered it hot, didn't you?â he forced a smile on his face. âwould you like me to brew another one for you?â
the man erupted to a new screaming fit, but he was promptly dragged aside. diluc immediately questioned if you were hurt anywhere, his voice a total 180 from before and turning into a soft tone you nearly didn't recognize.
âthat stunt you pulled...â you nervously said. âwill you be okay...? won't you get, er, dismissed because of it?â
â...you don't know i own this place?â
â???â
in any case, you've become good friends ever since that incident. so when your secret admirer gives you your customized drink from diluc's shop (that even xiao doesn't know the recipe of!), you ask him if there's a customer who ordered your exact drink that morning.
strangely enough, he changes the subject.
âhe only gave you coffee?â diluc wrinkles his nose. âhe's not fit for you.â
he proceeds to shove you a plate of pancakes for breakfast and won't let you talk about that topic again.
kazuha:
the soft-spoken boy working part-time as a florist. as one would expect, his good-looking features attracted customers left and right, just like how a flower allures bees with its colorful petals and sweet nectar.
he studies in a different university from you, but it's relatively close by and you run into each other a lot. you could say you're pretty good friends; you exchanged contact information and text every other day, phone each other up to have a meal together whenever you're both free, and hang out over the weekend.
he stirred up some drama with you once. on a rainy day, he invited you to eat lunch together, but you've forgotten to take an umbrella before leaving for school so you told him you'd be a little late 'cause you had to run to the convenience store first. however, he told you not to worry about it and abruptly ended the call.
fast forward to the afternoon: the glass doors to leave the corridors had a few people lurking by, covering what was beyond. you cocked up an eyebrow in question, confused over what was all the fuss, but then you see that familiar pale hair streaked with bright red.
kazuha stood innocently by the school gates, a crimson umbrella in hand, and a small bouquet in the other. he checked his wristwatch every few minutes, seeming to be waiting for someone. he completely ignored the gawking stares pinned on his frame, busying himself by humming a quiet tune.
you hesitantly pushed open the doors, approaching him with wary steps. he immediately perked up once noticing you, beaming brightly to greet you with enthusiasm. he offered you the bouquet, telling you it's nothing more than a small gift the owner had let him craft for free (who mistakenly thought kazuha had a lover, since he was always on his phone texting someone).
you might have known the reasons behind the present, but nobody else did. and what general implications could gifting a bouquet of flowers have?
thus, the school's online forum exploded with questions, asking for the identity of the pretty boy standing by their university, and the lucky person he'd given flowers to.
needless to say it was hard to convince your friends that no, he isn't your boyfriend.
but that was another issue! the issue NOW is the other bouquet you received, much more recent in nature. after suspecting childe, your next thought was to ask kazuha if he had any buyers who purchased the same flowers you had.
his lips twitch for a moment, faintly looking displeased. but he flashes a flawless, award-winning customer service smile, covering his initial expression easily.
âno such customer ordered for those flowers that day. but i am curious about this matter... could you humor me and explain more in detail, by any chance?â
albedo:
the med student fawned over by students and teachers alike. he's simply brilliant, idolized by the entire student body. though he's mainly studying science, he's been praised for his art as well, his paintings hung in the art room proudly.
you're not very familiar with him, only knowing him through hearsay. you don't know what he looks like, so you've never confirmed for yourself if he's as beautiful everyone says he is.
he's well-known but you haven't heard anything bad about him, which is an impressive feat. his name is only ever mentioned in concert with endless compliments.
you meet him by chance in exam season. unsurprisingly, the library is filled to the brim, tables stacked high with books and each chair occupied by agitated students sipping energy drinks and coffee to stay functional. amidst all the chaos, one student remains radiant and carefree, leisurely flicking pages through his notes. he's situated by a corner table, unbothered by the mindless zombies despite having plenty of free seats beside him and everyone else is squished together like canned tuna.
and you, carrying binders, books and stationery, are visibly desperate for a place to rest. his eyes leave the words in his notes briefly, beckoning you to come closer. and you, still unaware of his identity, gladly plop on a chair and heave your heavy supplies atop the table. it shakes for a moment as it bears the new weight, rattling his items, and the zombies gape at you in question. ironically, the person you've been bothering is not offended at all.
you sneak glances at him when you need to freshen your eyes from studying, nauseated by the letters that never seem to come to an end no matter how many paragraphs you've read. you're at awe by his fair skin, not a single blemish in sight, and he doesn't even have dark circles under his eyes. truly mysterious. either he has a magical skincare routine or he's not human. if anything, you'd think he just came from a relaxing vacation, not in the middle of hell week.
you snap out of your trance, and you scold yourself for being bewitched. you have more pressing concerns, and so you grill more information into your brain, oblivious to the turquoise eyes that begin to stare at you.
the next encounter comes when exams are finally over, and you celebrate by buying the pricey food set in the cafeteria. the crunch of golden breading is rewarding for your taste buds and you shovel more food towards your mouth, minding your own business.
the seat next to you is pulled back, and you pause from chewing. it's that guy again, his refined beauty easy for you to recognize. he places his tray on the table, smiling amiably as he asks if it's fine with you should he sit there. you nod, but there's plenty of vacant tables around. it's also pretty weird that he sat next to you, not across...
well, strange as it is, that's how you befriend albedo. you've yet to learn why he came on so strong, almost aggressive. like he really wanted to talk to you. but whatever.
the more you learn about him, the more his image of âgolden boyâ withers away. picture of elegance? the standard of sophistication? sure. but this guy doesn't hesitate to do the weirdest shit sometimes.
he doesn't fear anything. he puts anything edible in his mouth. one school trip to the countryside taught you a few things. if he's offered fried bugs, he'll eat it. if he's given frog legs, he'll eat it. he doesn't care. he'll eat seemingly anything. because of this, you worry his admirers will put something strange in the food they give him, but that possibility doesn't cross his mind at all. (well. not that he eats it. he rejects gifts most of the time. exceptions are when they come from you.)
you're starting to think he really doesn't fear anything. when you start to scream in fright like a headless chicken while watching a horror movie, he calmly studies the anatomy of whatever horrifying creature is on screen, questioning their ability to walk when half of their body is split apart. why is he questioning horror movie logic. âghosts are supposed to be transparent and can pass through walls, how come she can grab the main character's hair and drag him to the incinerator?â âalbedo, please.â (he comforts you when you get scared, hiding your face in his shoulder as he wraps his arms around you. he softly whispers in your ear to tell you when the scary parts are over.)
he's also an overprotective older brother. for good reason, actually. his little sister, albeit cute and outwardly harmless, is an explosive child who likes to make trouble. if he takes his eyes off her for more than two minutes, she will undoubtedly set fire to his little garden.
she's the reason why he's so observant. he can tell you trimmed your hair because he's all too used to klee chopping off her own hair with craft scissors. he also notices when you feel a bit under the weather. klee is the type to hide her sickness so she could play outside, and albedo would often have to forcibly tuck her back to bed. you're no different. he will, quite literally, drag you to your house and make you rest.
but aside from being a pain in the ass, his observation skills can help you â surely albedo can make a few guesses for your secret admirer's identity?
albedo blinks at you, uncharacteristically silent. he purses his lips, and gives you a small smile. he asks a few unassuming questions, things like what traces your secret left behind, or if they'd sent a love letter and he'd check the penmanship to see if he found it familiar.
he's not the most eager to help, you know that, but you're still slightly disappointed when he says, âsorry, i can't help you with something like that. it'd be better if you figured it out yourself.â
thoma:
the cute neighbor living in the apartment next door. just like kazuha, he studies in a different university, but you run into each other a lot because... well. obviously.
you find him rather silly. he'd signed the lease not knowing pets weren't allowed in the premises, and tearfully waved taroumaru goodbye when he moved in. to cope, he started staying at the park near the apartment building, playing with the dogs there and getting hit on by their owners in the process, but let's not talk about that.
despite being a newcomer, he fit right in with the tenants. he made effort to learn everyone's names and chatted with them whenever presented a chance, thus winning their favor. it isn't a strange sight to see him with middle-aged ladies and looking at home, listening earnestly to their complaints about their husbands or rowdy children. (his hard work pays off when they give him their special recipes and inform him of supermarket deals lol)
he seems to get along well with old men too, invited to their drinking parties. except thoma isn't good at rejecting alcohol from older adults, so when you save him from such situation â pulling him away from the old men prying into his love life, because surely a good kid like him would have someone to love him dearly â he's become eternally grateful.
he's honestly too good for his own good.
exhibit a: thoma is prone to cooking too much food for one person to eat in one sitting, so he tends to invite you to eat his hotpot with him or bring you packaged food you can easily pop into a microwave. after your one act of goodwill, he's become strangely attached to you, pronouncing you best buds. he then admits he used to live with a larger group of people (hence his cooking habits), and he's thankful for your company. (you'd argue you're getting the better end of the deal, receiving free food like this)
exhibit b: he's always available to help you in your troubles. need a hand with heavy groceries? he's on his way! ran out of soy sauce? just wait a bit, he's gonna grab some from the cupboard! forgot your key inside your apartment? then stay at his place for the meantime before the locksmith comes! your shower isn't working well?... he promises he won't peek in the bathroom, so feel free to take a bath h a h a h a. need someone's opinion on what outfit to wear for a date? sure, he's- wait.
YOU'RE GOING ON A DATE?
his face twists weirdly as you showcase two different shirts, asking which one he likes better. you raise an eyebrow when he doesn't dare to utter a single word. âare they both bad?â
he blinks rapidly, then shakes his head laughing. he half-heartedly points to the shirt in your left hand, but you can tell he doesn't really think much of it. he excuses himself fairly quickly, saying he had chores to do, and scurried back to his own home.
(you were only going to a date with ayaka's older brother because she insisted you both needed a love life, but it's not like you actually feel anything for him.)
it doesn't end there. thoma acts weird sometimes. he's strangely cold when he sees you inviting kazuha to your apartment to hang out. he also stiffens when he spots xiao walking you home.
but by far, he acted the weirdest when your phone number called him, but when he answered, he heard a different voice respond.
it's childe, whom you went drinking with. he doesn't know where you live, and you're not nearly sober enough to return home on your own, and it's not like you'll agree to staying over childe's house. you also refuse telling him your address, so childe is left with no choices but to call for someone he knows.
he uses your fingerprint to unlock the password in your phone, heading straight for your contact list, and dialed thoma.
it doesn't take long for thoma to arrive where you are, panting after running for a while, and childe is almost impressed. thoma hoists you up and you obediently wrap your arms around him.
âsorry for the trouble. [name]'s dead drunk as you can see,â childe comments, chuckling to himself. thoma doesn't look amused and replies with, âit's no trouble at all. i'd be glad to help [name] anytime.â
then in a way that almost seems possessive, thoma leaves childe behind.
so now when you arrive home, bouquet in your arms, red dusting your features, thoma is displeased once more.
(yet he is envious of those who can freely profess their affections, because he's certain if he were to ever admit his feelings to you, things can never be the same.)
gorou:
you first suspected childe because you thought the bouquet of flowers was a joke, but if it wasn't and it was real with the intentions of sweeping you off your feet...
then you might have another suspect in mind.
gorou is... a funny guy. can you put it like that? you don't know what to think of him. he's nice, you already know that very well, kokomi's good friends with him and told you a few stories about him, all of which are sweet and amusing. your first impression of him was that of a pure-hearted boy that can do no wrong.
he's younger than you by a year, and kokomi was fairly excited when she first told you he would be attending the same university soon. she promised to introduce you to him in hopes you'd be friends as well.
and okay, you could get behind that. there's nothing wrong with meeting new people. gorou sounded like a great guy too, and it'd be nice to take care of someone younger. you've been coddled by your seniors the past year as a freshman, and you thought it would only be right if you did the same to the new batch of students.
so you attended the welcoming party kokomi dragged you into. it was just a small gathering to get the freshmen familiarize themselves with older students, and she told you you'd get to meet gorou there, her eyes carefully scanning the crowd in pursuit of a specific face.
just as you were reminiscing over the past where your sadistic seniors encouraged you to drink a lot in the last welcoming party, shuddering in fright, kokomi tapped your shoulder and gestured to the brown haired boy standing before you.
it must be him. per courtesy, your lips curled into a practiced smile, exuding an amicable air. kokomi briefly exchanged a few words with him, but it looked like she was doing all the talking, the male frozen in spot as if he'd seen something strange.
he stared at you blankly, eyes slightly widened, and you slowly became unnerved with his vacant gaze, your smile faltering. you made eye contact with kokomi, silently questioning her, but she gave a subtle shrug of her shoulders, also confused by his behavior.
then, completely out of everyone's expectations, he'd dropped to the floor.
gorou had knelt on the ground with one steady knee, solemn in his endeavors. in an instant, your hand was seized, fingers enclosed in his warm palm. his piercing stare was impassioned, sincere at its core. heat shot up to the tips of your ears.
âmarry me!â
his voice resounded in the entire room, earning unwanted attention. the chatter halted immediately, all eyes dedicated to the spectacle that was the both of you, and your mind began to spin, cold sweat dripping down your forehead.
your voice was caught in your throat, not knowing what to say, and all you could formulate was a garbled string of incoherent mess. undeterred, the grasp on your hand was unrelenting, gorou committed through this act until the very end.
everyone was thinking the same thing: we haven't even started drinking yet, but this little guy is drunk already??
shameless. crazy. a head with loose screws. you're probably the only one who'd describe gorou that way.
but what kind of sane man would say that upon first meeting???
kokomi quickly tried to mediate the situation for him, pulling him away and patting his back to knock him out of his dazed stupor, and pushed you to the farthest corner.
she vouched for him when she saw your puzzled expression, thinking of him as a weirdo, and she insisted he's normally not that odd. she swears he was never interested in dating before, and she isn't sure what changed for him to... propose... all of a sudden... to you, who he'd barely seen for ten seconds, no less.
naturally, it feels strange for you to see him. after that disastrous encounter, gorou â who did feel embarrassment for what he did, horrified at his own impulsiveness â tried to make amends, backtracking steps (he skipped way too many and immediately went to propose lol) and treating you normally like a friend of a friend, slowly trying to make the atmosphere between you casual instead of a freezing blizzard that kills off the amicable mood.
in spite of all that, however, you do feel as if his feelings are actually genuine. he can be clumsy, and incredibly so, you don't know who else could propose to another person within a span of a minute meeting them for the first time, but he means well! you started off on the wrong foot, and maybe this bouquet of flowers is him trying to curry your favor... or something...
yet all he gives is a disbelieving look, and that's enough to provide a clear answer: it's not from him, and he's upset.
it,, probably wasn't a good idea to ask someone who likes you about another person who likes you.
but if it isn't him, who else could it be?!
drop your guesses in the comments but im pretty sure it's already obvious lol
haha I wrote Todoroki x reader fanfiction
Summary: You call Todoroki to ask him out on a date and it completely catches him off guard! He doesnât know what to think of your feelings but luckily his friends are there to give him some encouragement.
âââââââââââââââââ
Todoroki fished his phone out from his pocket when he felt it vibrating. He didnât usually get calls this late unless it was from his father, so he was surprised to see it was you who was calling him. Was something wrong? You had never called him before.
Excusing himself from the table, he stepped a few feet away, ignoring the questions and stares from his friends. Surely you had to be calling for a reason. He hasnât known you for very long, but you didnât seem like the type of person to call for no reason.
He pressed the green answer button.
âHello?â
âAh Todoroki? Itâs y/n. Are you busy right now? I have a question for youâ. You sounded fine. Nothing sounded out of the ordinary, although you did sound a bit rushed. Whatever it was must have been important. He wondered if there was something urgent you needed him for, like a patrol call that went wrong.
During your work-study together, you always took things head-on. Any challenge Endeavor threw your way, you embraced, even if you didnât succeed the first time. It was something he found admirable. So this strange change in behavior worried him.
âNo, Iâm not busy. Is something wrong?â He asked.
âOh, no!â You paused for a moment, âwell, I was just wondering if you wanted to comeâŚdo something with me on one of your days off. That is if you arenât busy.â
Do something? You must mean for all of you at the Endeavor agency to âdo somethingâ. You, him, Bakugo, and Midoriya almost always stayed late after Endeavor had finished with work for the day. Usually, it resulted in a late-night convenience store run or stretching together, but you all had fun. You could be found laughing and talking together while on patrol or doing exercises. It was nice to have another friend.
âI'm not doing anything but I would have to ask Bakugo and Midoriya their schedules. I can give you their numbers if you want or I can ask them for you.â Shoto responded.
âNo, thatâs itâs okay. I really meant you and me. You know, like a dateâŚletâs go on a date.â You said. There was no hesitation in your voice. It sent a shock to his system. He was under the impression that there would be some shyness, like what he had seen when watching movies with his classmates. Yet, there was no embarrassment at being left to explain your feelings so plainly because he couldnât figure it out.
Shoto could feel his face heating, the one cheek more so than the other, but each side was warm nonetheless.
ohâŚOh!âŚ.
By âdo somethingâ you had meant do something with him- just him!
âUmmmâŚI- ummâŚ.â Why couldnât he say anything! All he had to do was give you an answer and yet it felt like he had both too many thoughts in his head and none at all. He took the phone and shifted it to his other ear, trying to buy himself just a few more moments. âI will have to make sure I have nothing else going on.â Shoto wasnât sure what he was saying. It felt like his mouth was moving all on its own.
Why did he feel like this? Why did he feel soâŚhe couldnât even put a word to it. Being at such a loss for words, made him nervous.
He looked over his shoulder at his friends. For what reason, he wasnât sure. It wasnât like any of them could help. None of them knew what was going on, but maybe it would jog some sort of coherent thought. Or maybe one of them would notice and come help him think of what to say so he wouldnât have to stand here lost in thought.
Suddenly, Shoto snapped his head forward when he heard you sigh. Even over the phone, he could sense your bittersweet tone. Honestly, he couldnât tell if you were upset or not.
âI can text you what time Iâm free.â He blurted out. The thought of you being disappointed in his previous response stirred something in him. He didnât even mean to say that.
You hummed in response. âJust let me know I suppose. Iâm free all day tomorrow so you can just text or call me when you wake up.â
Shoto nodded, then told you he would make sure to let you know when he realized you couldnât see him.
âWell, Iâll let you get back to whatever you were doing. Have a Goodnight.â
âYes. You as wellâ As he pressed the âend callâ button, he felt a rush of emotions hit him.
He had never thought someone could be interested in him, but now he has a date.
Originally, the whole point of coming to U.A, of interning with his own father, was just to become strong enough to be number one. There was no need for friends or love interests. But suddenly that all changed, with just one phone call! It was so overwhelming to the point where it felt like he had visible heat coming off his cheek.
As Shoto went back to his seat, he decided he would need to give the whole situation some serious thought. His internal monologue was interrupted though.
âSo who called you? If you donât mind me asking, that is.â Midoriya asked between bites of food, smiling the whole time.
âIt was y/n.â
âOh? Itâs not like her to call. What did she want to talk to you about?â Midoriya finished with his food, putting the utensils across his bowl.
âProbably her shitty anime again. Sheâs been on about it for weeksâ Bakugo scoffed, eyeing his teammates from across the table. âI donât understand how you two listen to her yammer on about that crap! Itâs not even that goodâ he whips his head around to Kirishima as the boy to his left scolds him for an âunmanlyâ attitude.
âLighten up dude, isnât she your friend? Deku says you guys hang out after your work-study all the time. Iâm kinda jealous. I wish I had a hottie at my work-study, all I get is useless MinetaâŚâ Kaminariâs attitude suddenly sours at the thought of working with dumb stupid Mineta. âSeriously, he totally sucks. Anyways, back to the real conversation, we should be having, whatâs a girl calling Todoroki for?â Kaminari points his finger at Shoto, grinning from ear to ear.
They all look towards him. He can feel his mind drawing a blank again. This feels so embarrassing but he canât exactly explain why. Maybe heâs imagining it. Or maybe itâs because he isnât really sure why you called. It was to ask him on a date, but he doesnât understand why you would want to go on a date in the first place.
âShe asked me on a date.â Shoto tries to respond with an even tone. He doesnât want to let on just how unsure he really is. Not yet at least.
Thereâs a heavy silence between the five of them for a few moments.
Thereâs too many âa date?â âWho wants to go on a shitty date with youâ âDude how?â âWhat? You mean- howâ for him to process how to respond. So he settles for, âShe just asked to do something. Why is that so shocking?â
Itâs Kaminari that takes the lead in interrogating him. âShe just called and asked you?â
Todoroki nodded.
âJust straight up Said âhey Todoroki letâs go on a date.â On a Friday night. No confession after patrol. No weird love note. Nothing.â
âYes. Thatâs basically what happenedâ
Kaminari sat there for a few moments, staring dumbfounded. ââŚthatâs so hot.â
âDude! Donât say stuff like that! Itâs weird when we donât even know her.â Kirishima shoved Kamimariâs shoulder as he spoke. However, they could all see the flush on his cheeks.
A woman who was so willing to put her heart on the line, willing to be blunt yet vulnerable, it was so manly but in a feminine way. It nearly drove Kirishima to tears.
âOh so I canât call her hot but Kirishima can say all this weird Shakespeare stuff-â
âWould you two shut up?! You both sound stupid!â Bakugo barked at them. He huffed and pushed his plate away from himself. âItâs not like she confessed her undying love or something. She just asked him out on a date. Y/ns has always been pretty blunt. â
âKacchanâs rightâ Midoriya spoke up [shoto can hear a faint âdonât fucking call me thatâ somewhere in the background]. âShe really is blunt. Not in a mean way though!â He was quick to qualify his statement, not wanting to sound offensive or mischaracterize her. âI mean- itâs a nice change of pace sometimes. Sheâs pretty open when you ask her about how she thinks or feels, so Iâm not really surprised. Did you not know how she felt Todoroki?â Midoriya moved in his chair as he spoke, almost fully facing him now. He was just so excited for his friend.
âItâs kinda fitting isnât it?â
âWhat do you mean, Midoriya?â Shoto asked curiosity peaked by the dreamy look on his face.
âWell, the both of you are similar in some aspects. Itâs funny, isnât it? Youâve already got similar quirks, so it makes sense you would work well together. But then youâve got similar personality traits also. Youâre both straightforward- Todoroki more than y/n- hardworking, kind, although y/n tends to be more extroverted than you maybe that would only enhance your personalities more-â
âGod damn Deku, you wanna be more creepy or what?â Bakugo sneers. âYouâre gross when you do that kind of shit.â
Shoto smiled to himself, laughing a little as Midoriyaâs face went bright, from his cheeks to the tips of his ears. Bakugo had a way of calling him out. Even if it wasnât always nice, it was funny to watch sometimes.
âIâm just saying! We should all be happy for our friend! Y/n is a nice girl and they could be a really good coupleâ Midoriya looked to all of them, silently pleading that they would be supportive and not weird. A few of them slowly nod in agreement.
âYeahâ Kaminari leans in towards the middle of their group, reaching over Kirishima so everyone could hear him despite his hushed tone, âplus sheâs hot. I saw that photo spread she did with Miruko over summer break. Damn what a bo-â
He freezes mid-thought as the four of them send him dirty looks.
âYou never stop do you?â
âYouâre being as bad as Mineta right nowâ
âCome on Kaminari have some tactâ
Shoto sighs. He appreciated his friends trying to help but he still felt strange about the whole situation.
âWhat should I tell her? I said I would let her know if I was busy.â He interrupts their commotion, asking for their advice on what to do.
âSo you didnât say yes?â Kirishima raises an eyebrow at him. âDo you want to go?â
The question catches Shoto off guard. How was he supposed to know if he wanted to go on a date or not?
âIâm not sure.â
âWell do you like her?â Bakugo interjects.
âYes.â
âDo you like her enough to go do stupid shit with her? Like see a movie or, I donât know whatâs something gross girls likeâŚgo to dinner?â
[âBakugo, everyone goes to dinnerâ âfuck off itâs different when girls want you to go. You have to likeâŚtryâ]
Shoto looks down at his hands in his laps. He does like you. Youâre very kind to him. Youâre very supportive of his training and always encourage him to be better. But you donât just praise him because heâs the son of Endeavor or a top student from U.A., thereâs a genuine connection that comes from your time working together. And you both have some things you can talk about, like hobbies and interests. Unlike Bakugo, he doesnât mind listening to you talk about shows or books you like. Itâs fun to watch you be passionate. SoâŚmaybe going to a movie wouldnât be so bad.
âYes. I think so. I supposeâŚIâll give her a callback tomorrow then.â

â ALBEDO on weekend mornings would wake up somewhere between 6:30 am to 7. he knows you don't wake up that early so he'll lay down a bit until you start your first yawn of the day. he'll let out a small smile before leaving the bed and wait for you, sitting in the living room reading a book. don't tell anyone but whenever albedo wakes up he's flawless â what's your secret, mr. albedo???

â XIAO would honestly just lay down and watch you sleep (even though his day starts long before the sun rises), and as soon as the sun wakes up, he'll call you yet still get off the bed at the same time as you. he finds you gorgeous when you bask in the 9 am sunlight yet he doesn't really say it. how can someone be so precious yet so scary? god i don't understand xiao sometimes

summary: just gojo taking care and being proud of you when you have been overworking yourself
a/n: this was something I needed for myself because rip my schedules and stuff, hope you guys enjoy it too
ââââââââââââââââââ
killing curses required stamina, energy, power⌠and health. neither of those were in your possession right now. you were tired, exhausted if you could exaggerate. your body was dragging you home and your limbs felt numb. your clothes were soaked because of the rain water and dirt was all over you from fighting curses in the forest.Â
you walked inside your shared apartment with gojo. he was already waiting for you inside with the typical boyish smile on his face. you really wanted to return the smile, but you didnât even have the power to give him a small gesture of love so he stood smiling at your tired face.
losing your balance, you tried to hold yourself up by leaning on the wall. without hesitation gojo came running to you. âyou overdid it againâ, he whispered as he held you under your shoulder.
you felt your body being lifted and assumed gojo had picked you up. he brought you to your bedroom, making sure you didnât have to put effort into any of that.
