I was just serfing the net and came across this video. I really love old educational videos for Russian learners, so I thought I’d share it. (I don’t know why I find the last conversation so funny, but it is)

is polyglot culture understanding a few words overheard in a conversation in a language you’ve never studied before between strangers in a public place because they speak a language that is from the same language family as a language you study and feeling a m a z i n g about it ?

I said I was gonna get back to translating when I'm done with my exams... Yet here we are!

When you listen to an entire song in your target language and one thing makes sense:

The road sign says:

Be the one who makes you happy. Originally it was: "Be with the one who makes you happy", but somehow "with" (c) dimmed.

Interestingly, it works in Russian both with and without C because the instrumental case is needed either way.

Memrise is a great resource as it has Memrise courses and user-created courses. These are the official Russian courses if you go through them one by one they amount to approximately 54 hours of content. The thing I like about Memrise is they test you on your pronunciation, and they have lots of videos by Russian native speakers. So it really tests you in all your skills.
