I Need. To Do My Hair Today.

I need. To do my hair today.

Drink hibiscus tea.

Buy some books maybe if I can fit them in my budget.

Draw some Sonic, my favorite symbol of freedom.

Anything. Literally anything, other then give that man attention.

My ancestors didn’t fight for this, and I certainly don’t want it.

Happy Martin Luther King Jr Day. Take care, be well.

A cartoon self portrait of the artist (me, Aya) in front of a pink, black, and white distorted paper background. Brown and white paper textured boarders frame the artist likened to washi paper on a scrapbook page. Loosely inspired by 2017 Cartoon Network’s art direction. The subject of the piece is wearing a yellow, poorly drawn Betty Boop shirt and spackled teal jeans.

Casually posting this everywhere I post my art because Mx Ma’am (me) needs a new aesthetic and I’m reliving my Cartoon Network dreams era

ITS A ME !!~

I’m back in no oc land where none of my ocs seem to fit what do I do

I’m also in fandom dead zone so that doesn’t help

If anyone has any writing/general story prompts or something I’d be very appreciative. If not, I’ll gladly cry myself to sleep and hope that the nightmares are so uncomfortable that I make a new story out of it. /silly

I’ll also accept shojo/josei recommendations. That may seem off topic but I assure you it would cure everything.

-> “why wasn’t this book listed?” probably because it wasn’t black sapphic-centric, the author isn’t a black sapphic themself, or i just simply haven’t heard of it! so feel free to add on if it meets those two criteria

many of these books require trigger warnings, especially some of the older ones that are more likely to feature racial struggles of the time. please do your due diligence and search for tws if you want to read them!

please feel free to add onto this list in the rbs or comments! happy black history month

Doodles of OC, Clove (she/them), to compare a sketchy brush made in Krita to one made in the free version of Fire Alpaca. The brush made in Krita has heavier weight, and a grainier feel. Whereas the brush made in Fire Alpaca is lighter and fuzzier. Sketch one (Krita), Clove is posed holding an oversized clock and a stone with a bland expression. Sketch two (Krita), Clove is freaked out by something off screen. “Oh my fucking sundae sprinkles that’s bad—you good, Canvas?” Sketch three (Fire Alpaca), Clove looks up at something off screen, distraught, holding a clock and cautiously stepping forward. “The weight of the world should not be on one shoulder.”

I’ve been posting more on my bluesky but here’s today’s sketches as I test the brush engines between Krita and the free version of Fire Alpaca. Krita’s brush engine is my favorite between the two and a close second to Clip Studio’s.

Every so often I get a step closer to my art looking so very Sonic. This time is no exception 😔. THEY ARENT A SONIC OC sobs /silly

Edit to add a note: this is the newest version of Lucky Cassiopeia, now named Clove Cassiopeia!! Name and design a work in progress ^^

The horned bunny homie sits surrounded by documents, sketchbooks, papers, and memories from their whole life. The caption says "Pack Light".
This is the artist's one-panel diary comic, vent art, and an illustrated snapshot of my life as I pack to move again.

'Pack Light' - Eclair Milkshakes

Drawn to "Bag Lady" by Erykah Badu

Why should I have to leave to appease those who hate me? How do you choose what to take?
