Meet Rizza, My Original Character/Persona

I made this cutie because I was tired of never having a character to use that wasn't a fan character for my avatars or banners. So that's where Rizza comes in. She's a grizzly/American black bear hybrid, though I leaned the art style to be more teddy bear shaped because it fits with the themes I tend to go for (dreams and stars for example). I'm just so happy to finally have a character to call fully my own that's not associated with anything else but me. I know I could have easily just drawn myself to use as an avatar. That's boring though and I wanted something cuter if I ever needed a mascot for a brand. Anyway, that's pretty much it, this is my persona/mascot and I hope you like her. :3

Tumblr, Native Hawaiians need your help!

So the gist of it is the construction of the 30 meter telescope on top of Mauna Kea is starting. Its peak is 4,207.3 m above sea level, making it the highest point in the state of Hawaii. Which is why it is deemed the perfect place for the telescope. The only thing is, Mauna Kea is sacred land, our ancestors never built on top of Mauna Kea and for good reason. Sacred land is to never be messed with. It's a burial ground for native Hawaiians' most revered ancestors, and believed to be a peak created by the gods as a place from which humans can ascend to heaven. A lot has been taken away from native Hawaiians and there is already telescopes built on Mauna Kea we do not need anymore desecration of our land. I think after "Yes without my Zeke" Tina might loosen up on Zeke's troublemaking so he gets to stay at Wagstaff. Cuz ya know, maybe she doesn't mind too much having to "share" Jimmy Jr. Maybe she's grown to have a little soft spot for the smelly stocky boy

So precious! Tina looks so comfy in that outfit! Love the soft, colored outlines too. I look forward to the context of this scene, whatever it is.

This is my version of Disney’s Persephone I made a while ago.Her design was inspired to be a combination of https://quantum-witch.deviantart.com/ ‘s Persephone as well as Disney’s background Persephone.

Although, I’m in the minority that prefers to stir away from the incest as much as possible.So in the footsteps of Disney, I gave her a different backstory. It’s similar to Triptolemus but she was a sickly, orphan, baby that was left for dead and the burning was successful. It was Hestia’s fire however instead of a plain ritual fire. So that explains the choice of colors but the freckles represent the pollen that fell onto her when Demeter nursed her.

It’s not entirely kid-friendly, but it’s a nice parallel to Hercules god-to-sort-of-mortal. At least it’s a better backstory than just Zeus doing his non-wife sister.
