I love getting overly attached to characters who are just so lame. Like, Jonathan Jarchivist Sims does have attributes that are theoretically very cool (he became god, he could kill people with his mind and all that) but the scenes that have me grinning and twirling my hair are always, like. Jon sitting at his desk and bitterly muttering about how his coworkers stole his pens.

arthur and john are so funny, they literally go from "our relationship is built on trust and i value your friendship" to "FUCK YOU you suck so bad i have always hated you" in a span of minutes

We need more aro representation in the media. We need someone to say the word aromantic and explain what it means without implying that they're a terrible human being. We need the people they come out to to not take pity on them. We need GOOD aromantic representation

I am once again going to recommend posemuse.com @posemuse as a really really helpful site for drawing dynamic poses. I'm not even kidding when I say I feel like my art has majorly improved since I've discovered this site. Here are some really nice examples I've used in the past, and they're good for dnd characters, fighting, two people, group poses, etc.

i love shakespeare academics. i fucking love them. there’s this one guy who wrote an essay about how claudius is actually possibly innocent, or at least didn’t kill the king by putting poison in his ear, and the ghost was in part a hallucination (it’s a really interesting essay with many good points and i’m using it in my final synthesis for this class) but. BUT. some guy read it on a train. and he lost it.

this guy literally said this essay drove him to “insanity”. he went off the fucking rails about it so much so that he wrote a book over the course of EIGHTEEN YEARS about what ACTUALLY happened in hamlet and dedicated it to the guy who wrote the essay as a big “fuck you”. and that exchange between them is literally inescapable when reading about the play today. here’s an excerpt from the beginning:

this is like. the equivalent of someone making a well-thought out discourse post and then out of nowehere someone reblogging it with thousands of words of pure furious rambling about why op is wrong YEARS LATER. this bullshit started a hundred years ago, literally in the middle of the first world fucking war, and i STILL cannot escape it while reading a book on hamlet published in fucking 2000 because it’s so iconic. and i love it.

also yeah if you live in a reasonably sized city i can’t recommend enough checking out the local art scene as much as you can. go to see small time local bands and and galleries and art walks. find a bar where they do really cool niche stuff and you can have an entire conversation with the bartender about different varieties of gin. go see a weird avant-garde play put on by a university theatre department. in the face of a society that commodifies art in a way that feels increasingly soulless it can be so refreshing to get out there and interact with people who are doing it out of passion

I've heard a lot of bad quotes from fifty shades of grey but I don't think I've ever heard anyone mention that Christian Grey straight up says his success is based on facts and logic

the way arthur and john/yellow are constantly flip-flopping between "i hate you, i need you, go fuck yourself, I'm sorry, i love you, i can fix you, i can make you worse" 👀🥺

Consider: live action adaption of Malevolent where Doug Jones plays the King in Yellow, and whoever plays Arthur Lester has to mimic The Hand Thing with his left hand when John talks.

Everyone talking about how their blorbos are precious children born under a 'special' star that marks them as magic, and meanwhile Shakespeare writes a Welsh side character into Henry IV, Part 1 that just will not shut up about how fiercely ominous and portentous his birth was. He has no more lines after this scene.

(Also note, this character is based on Owain Glyndŵr, an actual historical Welsh leader)
