Lost in the sea of grass,
the humble cabin watches
the waves of amber sweep
through the front door
and out the back.
The circle completes itself

Four walls blocking the light.
A door which speaks to the visitors.
Walkways leading your eyes to the darkness and the latent smell of incense mixing with the warm air.
The intimidating house of worship calls, no, beseeches,
"Enter and be among friends and companions"
and yet one soft piece of beauty shines without favor.
Beautiful sunlight streaming onto the old pine floor.
Blue sunlight softened by the glass art of a craftsman.
Soft blue light making this gathering spot like a welcoming friend.
San Francisco de Asis Mission Church,Taos,New Mexico
An adobe church surviving thru the years of adoring fans.
The warm afternoon sun-baked the west facing wall as the artist approached her canvas. She stopped. She looked. Then considered the words she wanted to paint. She needed to leave a lasting impression for anyone that happened by this site.
The Fremont Indian Rock Art is considered the best representation of these ancients. These images really spoke to me as an observer almost 1,500 years later...d
The End...
The seasons come and go as the months turn from spring into fall.
The fresh buds of spring have turned into the verdant green of early summer and then to the vibrant colors of fall.
The final bit of life energy is transferred from these leaves into the host tree that they have shared for all of these months.
They gave their all and now the time has come.
The end of life so the tree may live on.
This is the way of nature.
The way of life.
The life as it is intended to be....dennis
Sunset is the end of the day.
It brings a sense of completion
to the wanderers in attendance.
And yet sunset is not the end, but
the beginning. The start of the next phase.
It is a birth as much as a death. ….dennis
Downy, soft clouds gently coercing
the intense rays of an August sun
to travel in practiced patterns.
Shadow and Light slowly dancing
with the red rock spires as their partner.
It is only thru the benevolent nature
of the Earth Mother that such joyous
sights are revealed...dennis
Dragons
The night can hold many dragons.
As a child, they live under the bed.
As a teen, they hide in school tests.
As a adult, they can hide in the sky.
The building clouds on a spring evening very quickly turn into giant behemoths that spew fire and scream at the earth with voices that thunder across the plains and into the ears of the adults huddled safely fearing dragons.
Well perhaps not fearing, but certainly aware that dragons are out there,
lurking in the soft fluffy clouds of spring.
The weather is a part of nature we all need to be aware of and respect...dennis
Faith needs no symbol.
It is by definition a fervent belief that a human holds in their soul. Still ,we have continually objectified "faith" and built incredible businesses around the symbol of faith that has no price..
I hold my faith very close to my soul and need no false gods..
Still I do love architecture...dennis
