Loneliness is when you are a lemon in a persimmon basket and an artichoke in a walnut basket. Loneliness is a dress that is getting tighter every day, an unknown pain that every day you feel stronger but that makes you weaker and more distant from others, to walk with the pace of others, to understand what they say, to feel what they feel. Loneliness is having a fire that burns inside you, an anxiety that nobody calms down, looking in the mirror without seeing anything. Loneliness is when you are equal to all the others around you but you don’t feel equal to them, without understanding why and without the other interests trying what you feel and explaining what you don’t understand. Loneliness is not having anyone who squeezes you when you’re cold, who takes you by the hand when you’re afraid, who smiles at you when you’re sad, who accepts you when others refuse you, who talks to you or listens to you when the silence is thick like honey and you are like the bee that has fallen into it and struggles without succeeding in order to fly away and return among the flowers. Loneliness is when you don’t have someone who kisses you as you want to be kissed, who knows what you want before you know it, who gives you what you want before you want it. Loneliness is when nobody sees your fatigue growing in the day, nobody considering the fatigue that takes you minute by minute, even just to cross the road, nobody knows how to give you the strength you need to get to the end of the day. Loneliness is when you are among others but nobody sees you, you speak among others but nobody listens to you or believes in what you say or sees what you see. Loneliness is not being in a desert, but feeling it among others, it is not being alone in the middle of the sea but not knowing which way to navigate to find an island, it is not not being hungry but that nobody understands that you don’t have nothing to live. Loneliness is not not having a God to pray to, but in praying without believing in it. Loneliness is having a dream that nobody believes in, loneliness is having a dream that nobody helps you realize, loneliness is having a dream and living it only by dreaming. Loneliness is when at lunch everyone looks at their mobile phone without paying attention to the others, it is when you talk to her and she reads the messages that have come to her, it is when you are on the street and you cannot write to anyone because you have left the mobile phone at home. Loneliness is when you open Tumbrl because you need to see the soul of a friend and Tumbrl doesn’t work.

In my recent zine, I mentioned that I enjoy fly fishing. It's not exactly the most "dark academia" thing to do, but I do like to dress the part. I get some odd looks but I don't care.

TAORMINA E I SUOI FIORI

The flowers of Taormina laugh in the summer sun just as the women of Taormina laugh at life, you see both of them shine in the heat of the day and in the warm wind of the evening as they sway giving intense scents at night to be able to dance in the dreams of men, in the desires suspended in their lost souls. The flowers of Taormina shine in the heat of summer as well as the clothes of the women of Taormina, shine on the narrow streets full of tourists, made noble by their slow and lovable gestures. Light linen or cotton clothes with a thousand embroideries so that their color illuminates the streets and brings joy even in the shadow of the alleys.  The flowers of Taormina are lulled in the breezes that come down from the mountains or rise from the sea and light up every alley in the old town just as the women of Taormina illuminate the streets and houses with their ancient and eternal beauty.
