Reasons why you should love Oikawa Tooru

A/n: There is no particular reason why I’m writing this. I just wanted to remind some facts because Oikawa deserves all the hoes. This is mostly me explaining why I love him and why he would be a great lover in my opinion. I’m basing all that on my perception of the show and his MBTI type which is ENFJ. So feel free to disagree with me on everything.

The first thing that appealed to me when I saw Oikawa was that he doesn’t come off as arrogant. Despite being incredibly confident he doesn’t shy away from pointing out not only his strengths but also his weaknesses. So while he’s fine with displaying his skills, he’s also perfectly fine with recognising where he is lacking. Which is incredibly hot but also shows that he can be humble.

Which is my second point. Because yes Oikawa is someone who is grateful for what he has. It is shown that instead of becoming big-headed from the attention he gets he is always super sweet to his fangirls. When he doesn’t even have to. I think that the way he approaches fame says a lot about him already.

Something that also appealed to me was that he is incredibly good with his words on top of reading people perfectly. I can see how this can make Oikawa very manipulative but I can also see how this can make him someone you would want by your side and the show portrays both. Oikawa is good at riling up his opponents but he is also very good at putting his teammates at ease. So as your lover I can see him using that talent to bring out the best in you.

It’s also clear that Oikawa’s relationships are based on complete trust. So while earning his love won’t be easy once you have it you can expect him to be very devoted. I think that his girlfriend dumping him because he was too obsessed with volleyball definitely served him as a lesson. I don’t think that Oikawa is the type to half-ass anything he does ever. His expectations are too high for that and he is way too hard on himself to allow that. Which is why I think that before getting in a relationship he is going to think is this worth it? And if it is then I don’t think there’s any obstacle he won’t be able to overcome for you.

I don’t believe Oikawa is a player. Even though he definitely has a nice body count, with a personality and looks like his. The reason I don’t believe he is a player is simply because he is that obsessed with volleyball. He is also really emotional and I think he would just end up catching feelings for whoever he is seeing on the long run. Besides with his inferiority complex along with his god complex he would definitely benefit more from a stable relationship or no relationship at all.

I think dating Oikawa is challenging but in a good way. There will be a lot of times you will want to hit him with a shovel that’s for sure. His insecurities will also make it hard for you sometimes. Along with his processivity and jealousy. But he is also a passionate lover and if you take the time to invest in him I’m pretty sure you will get the results you deserve.
