Differences between DXT5 / DXT3 / DXT1

The images above are all imported with SimPe's Built DXT... option, and then exported for previewing. The short version is:

You can't go wrong with DXT5 :)

I'll go through the differences under the cut.

DXT5

Supports transparency (alpha channel)

Preserves texture details well

Smooth gradient transparency

Filesize of the vase texture: 25 KB Filesize of the plant texture with gradient alpha channel: 26 KB Filesize of the plant texture without the gradient part: 20 KB

Useful for: textures that are solid or have a complex alpha channel.

Shouldn't be used for: –

DXT3

Supports transparency (alpha channel)

Preserves texture details well

Causes stripes on alpha channel gradients

Filesize of the vase texture: 25 KB Filesize of the plant texture with gradient alpha channel: 20 KB Filesize of the plant texture without the gradient part: 19 KB

Useful for: textures that are solid or have a well-defined alpha channel.

Shouldn't be used for: textures with alpha channel gradients.

DXT1

Doesn't support transparency (no alpha channel)

Pixelates texture details

Filesize of the vase texture: 21 KB Filesize of the plant texture: 14 KB

Useful for: solid one color textures with no details.

Shouldn't be used for: detailed textures, textures with transparency.

Both textures l used are 256x256. They came from TS4, thanks to @tvickiesims for extracting the textures! I added the gradient bit to the plant one.

V.1.2 UPDATE (09/06/2023):

#Fixed some pages where I forgot to remove my stuff to test things.

#I changed the property "Do I have a default?" from checkbox to "Status". Now it looks like this:

Why did I do it? Because I noticed that sometimes I wasn't sure about the defaults I downloaded, so I wanted to have… more options to mark things. One check wasn't enough for me.

#I've added four new views, taking advantage of the new property, to help you to better group the defaults you have and don't have. See the screens here.

#I have added other list compilation for cc and mods which may come in handy.

#I added the "Camera Mod" section in the "Graphics" section.

V.1.1 UPDATE (09/04/2023): PERSONAL DEFAULTS REPLACEMENT TRACKER ADDED!

Small clarifications:

# I also added some optional proprierties to fill in in case you use some mods. I made sure they are hidden because not everybody use those mods. So to see them click on “more proprierties”.

These options will only remain visible if you fill their box.

These are:

1. Height (If you use Lazy Duchess’s Height Mod here)

2. TS3 Traits (If you use the Trait System here)

3. The favorite color and the disliked color (if you use the color mod here)

Also, In ”Life States” I took the liberty of also adding midgethetree’s custom occults, but if you don't use them you can delete them.

# Some properties are hidden because not all sims have info for those properties. So to see them click on “more proprierties”. These options will only remain visible if you fill their box.

These are:

1. Death Cause (Don’t all sims are dead)

2. Business (OFB Business, it can be a shop a bakery etch)

3. Role in Business

4. All school/university-related properties, if your sim doesn't attend it.

# Some properties are hidden and cannot be made visible even if you fill their boxes. These are for the template filters, so please don't touch them. This property is literally called "Filters”.

My tracker has many more proprieties than a classic tracker and I filled it with ready options so you don't have to write everything by hand yourself (that's why it took me a long time)

ALL the properties have ready options, you just have to choose without the trouble of writing anything (unless you want to insert custom options yourself)

The tracker has also a lot of different views and I'll let you discover them yourself!

I didn't want to add extra options for gender identities and sexual orientations because I don't want to forget anyone, so you can add whatever you want!

And as a last thing to say I can say that for the "currently played family" view, I copied the idea from this template from @skittlessims-deactivated2023082 / @skittlesplays

I made a thing and shared it over at GOS for their Unfinished Business Theme :3 (which is one of my favorite bi-monthly themes, btw)

This is @rented-space​‘s 4t2 conversion of EP01SweaterLongTank that came with Get to Work (I think?). I gave it different leggings using Onyxsims4’s Ariel leggings and used Figs’ green texture of the hightops.

You get 4 colors, 2 with bunnies and 2 without, each with a different legging. You can see all the colors on this swatch:

as anyone who knows me will know, my house is a zoo i am a sucker for small rodents, especially guinea pigs and hamsters. last year for my 17th birthday i shared these deco guinea pigs, so this year today, for my 18th, have the natural progression of that post: a 4t2 conversion of @kaisosims' rodents pack! 20 new, modular, decorative fur-baby items & accessories for your sims to adore 🥰

everything that could have fitted slots has slots; the hamster shelf, notably, has a grand total of 15! all of the cages are stackable, i.e.: you can put the animals (which are purely deco) in them, then stack them on top of any other surface--the given ones, or a counter, study table, etc.! more info can be found under the cut 👇

this set was originally supposed to be my... wow... 1000 followers and 17th birthday gift. but back then my cc skills honestly kinda sucked and the slots + transparency drove me to insanity. over a year, 1500 more followers, and a mental crisis later, here we are, with the final product of over 30 hours of hard work! 👏 in any case, thank you all so much for 2500 followers!

THINGS TO NOTE

Pretty much everything that can have a slot, has a slot!

All cages can be placed on other surfaces, like tables, counters, etc.; if you want to place an animal inside of them, do that first, THEN place them on the surface.

Everything is decorative; nothing is functional… yet.

Art pieces are in the Paintings category, surfaces like the Cage Stand are in Surfaces -> Misc, and everything else is in General -> Pets.

You may note that some items have drastically different polycounts from the TS4 originals; this is because TS4 automates the appearance of backfaces, but TS2 doesn't recognise them, so I had to add my own.
