tape can be taken down. a gluestick is more transportable, lasts longer, and cannot be peeled off once soaked into the paper.

question! if a workplace is violating labor laws (which they often are) is there anything that prevents an employee from:

printing out copies of the laws being violated, maybe with helpful highlights/summaries

(and a helpful reporting hotline, if possible)

taping these signs anonymously in the employee bathroom stalls

i know retaliation is something many workers worry about, but bathrooms at least still don't have security cameras. so is this a practical and anonymous thing to do? and if so, why isn't it more common?

welcome to the witchy world new friend!

hellenism is technically the more appropriative incorrect word for Hellenic Polytheism! it’s the reconstructionist view of the Greek Gods!

I recommend some googling and doing some reading on reconstructionist vs revivalist paganism, as well as basics of modern Hellenic Polytheism. Google, not tumblr, there’s still some good scholarly articles out there!

as far as hexing/cursing, the ethics of “can I hex” is entirely up to the witch themselves. everyone has their own paths and ethics, and while some will try to teach you that hexing is evil or wrong or threefold law or whatever-

YOU WRITE YOUR OWN PATH IN WITCHCRAFT

hope this helps friend! welcome!

I'll make this account pretty later but im not worried about that rn. My main acc is @opposededds

But anyways! Im interested and starting to practice witchcraft/paganism/hellenism (im not sure what it is specifically) and i have basic knowledge of most things. But i have some questions.

Is there an acceptable reason to hex/curse someone (i know the two mean different thinga thats why im asking)

I believe i have a good reason, but i also know it can backfire so thats why I'm asking.

I...tried to make a meme and got carried away and made A Thing that is like partially unfinished because i spent like 3 hours on it and then got tired.

I think this is mostly scientifically accurate but truth be told, there seems to be relatively little research on succession in regards to lawns specifically (as opposed to like, pastures). I am not exaggerating how bad they are for biodiversity though—recent research has referred to them as "ecological deserts."

THERE ARE NO CERTAIN LEVEL DEITIES. COMPLETELY AGREED!

However, there are deities who may not work for you. Just because someone works well with one deity, doesn’t mean you’ll have an easy time with them as well. every one works in different areas at different speeds.

your craft is your own. let none other tell you how to walk your path.

I’ve seen numerous of people saying that there are beginner deities and hard deities. Here’s the thing: do not allow people to stop you from working with deities. You are allowed to work with any deities you wish, and there is no such thing as certain level deities.

yall.

do you think Christians don’t believe in their god? or haven’t all this time? you think they slaughtered billions for a made up man in the sky?

no

they firmly truly believe(d) their god exists and is present and real. why the fuck would the ancient Greeks write all this shit down if they didn’t believe it?

Were there any specific individuals in ancient Greece who believed in the reality of their gods? How do we know about their beliefs?

Yeah, for sure—tons of people in ancient Greece actually believed the gods were real, not just stories. We know this from stuff they wrote, like hymns, plays, and even letters to the gods on little offerings. I’m a Hellenic polytheist myself, and honestly, reading their words makes it super clear they had real devotion, not just myth-making.

whoever said healing was a never-ending process can take a seat for a second, because i have something to say.

no, healing doesn't stop. but it's not linear either. take breaks from your healing.

you can't work out at the gym 24/7, you'd pass out and eventually die on the gym floor. you have to stop for food, water, bathroom breaks, and sleep bare minimum, not to mention that exercising outside of every bodily function WOULD kill you. you have to have days you don't go to the gym. why would deconstructing be any different?

if you are unpacking trauma and healing old bad habits, you have to have days where maybe you don't make considerable progress, but you take some time to feel good about the progress you've made already. maybe you sit outside for a bit and think about how you would have dealt with current situations as the old you vs how you handle them now. what has changed, about your surroundings and you?

recognizing your progress is just as an important part of growth as the growth itself is, and if you don't take some time to rest and heal from the healing, you will have no strength left to tackle those dark parts of you.

rest. take a breath. revel in your success so far, and get back up the next day. it's okay to pause and catch your balance before you stumble.

It's okay to take a break from deconstructing growing up in a cult and being terrified with the teachings of Christian fundamentalism and evangelicalism right?

I just need some reassurance because I feel like a failure because I'm so emotionally overwhelmed between this and my job.

i’m sorry people don’t know this? what the fuck do you guys think they scan at the register if there’s no price sticker? there is a barcode on the back yall

I don't know why I continue to be surprised at how few people seem to know that most mass market paperbacks have the prices printed on the back.

Most of our books do. Only the British imports and some of the indie books don't.
