Summary:

“What was your name again?” Peter, the boy went to reply, only for “Pietro,” to come tumbling out instead without warning. It caught the speedster off guard so much so that he slipped into superspeed on accident, blinking rapidly as if it would somehow explain his slip up. Only his family called him Pietro, and even then, Wanda was the only one who still called him it on a regular basis. Why would he have told this stranger -this criminal no less- his real name? ~~~ Or, The one thing soulmates can't do is lie to each other, something Peter quickly learns on his unexpected trip to the Pentagon.

Things Peter Maximoff Probably Shocks His Team Mates With

• That he has a teaching degree (it’s been ten years since he finished school and his mum made him pick one before she did for him) • That he can play music not just listen to it • That he has a sister, and that she is ten years younger than him • That he is great with kids in general • When Peter’s style keeps changing and getting a little more stylish as well with his hair, they find out Jubilee has been styling him • That he gets along with Charles especially when talking about math or science • They don’t realise just how fast Peter is until it looks like he teleported • Getting the children who have closed themselves off to talk and smile • How he doesn’t have any non-band t-shirts • How much he can eat • How Erik is his father • Just how many goggles he has • How quick he is, but takes a couple years when going to the shops • That he can cook, and cook well • How dedicated he gets on Mother’s Day • How competitive he gets and how bad he is at hiding it • How strong he is, once when Charles wheel chair got stuck in a wedge he just picked up the entire thing without trying. fic rec! 4K DP whump

Summary: Valerie's new upgrades add an electric charge to all of her attacks. Danny is not a fan.

Comments: Oooo, this fic has a lot. Danny getting hurt by electrocution in a fight with Valeria, a mildly protective Skulker. There's good whump, coupled with the angst of an electric attack reminding Danny of the portal. You also get an identity reveal! So much in this little fic. *slaps the Ao3 link*

There's surprisingly more games, starring Russian Romani, than one would expect.

1) Wanda and Pietro Maximoff in the MCU were whitewashed. They’ve been Romani in the comics for the last 42 years. If you don’t understand the nuances of Romani culture vs. Romani ethnicity vs. Romani genetics, you can read my original post on it right here. Or, if you don’t trust me as a source, the Roma Culture Centre discusses it right here.

2) MCU Wanda and Pietro willingly work with HYDRA (the ACTUAL NAZIS), and allow HYDRA to run experiments on them both. The most famous Romani superheroes in comic book history join the ACTUAL NAZIS in the MCU.

(ETA: Yes, they joined HYDRA willingly. They volunteered. That’s according to Marvel’s own website, found right here. “Years later, they both volunteered to undergo genetic experimentation overseen by HYDRA’s Baron Wolfgang von Strucker, using Loki’s scepter, to potentially give them powers.”)

Why would they do this? Wanda’s brief tenure in HYDRA in the comics (Secret Empire run) only happened because she was possessed by the Elder God Chthon; she never joined them willingly. If you’re unfamiliar with the Romani Holocaust, you can read about it right here.

3) The MCU draws most of its inspiration from The Ultimates. Writer Jeph Loeb made Wanda and Pietro’s relationship incestuous in The Ultimates, and the MCU decided, for some bizarre reason, to make this part of the films. Elizabeth Olsen admitted in interviews that they intentionally hinted at incest between the twins in Avengers: Age of Ultron. If you’re unfamiliar with incest as a Romani stereotype, that’s awfully lucky for you, but you can read about it right here.

4) Elizabeth Olsen is also an unrepentant racist. On The Graham Norton Show, all the way back in 2015, she used the word “Gypsy” to describe Wanda and was corrected by the host. The actress has never apologized. (Mark Ruffalo was also on the show, and apologized on Twitter for repeating the slur after Olsen said it.) Olsen didn’t apologize because she wasn’t sorry; it wasn’t the first or last time she’d done it. Elizabeth Olsen keeps using slurs and stereotypes in interviews, as recently as last month. A dadneto art gift for @fouraligments based on the fic <Hanetz Hachamah>! I considered drawing a scene but decided to try capturing the spirit instead. The historical & cultural premises of the story is great and it's just-tooth rotting sweetness & father-son bonding overload. Truly one of my favorite fanfics.

It was fun making this so I might just start drawing fanarts for fanfics because Mr. Boner doesn't deserve it at the moment. Anyways what I need right now is an angry Jewish magnet man protecting his tiny son.
