Before the Anger, episode 3- "People Our Age"
Note- Even though I like a good Undyne and Alphys ship, THAT DOES NOT HAPPEN IN THIS COMIC. Undyne is a child and Alphys is in her 30s- that's the end of it. Instead, Alphys and Siqua (Undyne's mom) are the main romance :)
So sorry for the bad quality comic! I had to shift the dimensions and this quality was the best I could do.

Note- despite Gaster's high IQ, he does not have very good advice. Especially when it comes to parenting.

I forgive you... Actually, I apologize for you having to read such a bad comic.
It looks so good! I love the concept, too! Nimiee looks so disturbed! Y'know that feeling when you're mad because you didn't come up with something first? I wish I had drawn this LOL
A loss of everything
Yes I did use the old 2020 Webtoon as reference, forgive me ๐/nsrs
Before the Anger- episode 53, "Long Journey (pt. 3)"

Webtoon version... Even though Tumblr is better, Webtoon is admittedly more bingeable..
Before the Anger- episode 25, "Picnic Party (pt. 8)"
So, Siqua finally talked about the fading magic. They've alluded to it before, but this time its direct. Now we are setting up timelines! Remember: Alphys and her colleagues had magic when they were kids.
((Undyne titled her head and spoke humorously, "You're not trying to challenge me, are you?" she was referring to Elaine's poor condition; exhausted, dirty, and somewhat wounded. Elaine shook her head. Amused and mildly concerned, Undyne invited the strange girl into her home to chat.))

I felt like drawing these little guys.
I put some funky filters on this bad boy.
Not sure what else to say. They are holding hands... even if they fight a lot. Its cute.
Read Before the Anger here!
I made that drawing of Sans, Papyrus, and Undyne as kids, so I decided I'd give Gaster and Siqua the same treatment!
Its just little digital sketches. I first started this page thinking it was just gonna be hand doodles, so Gaster is signing "red" (very dramatically) but then I got carried away with drawing the kiddies...
Gaster seems pretty standoffish even as a kid.
Not sure what magic I'd give Siqua. I just made it vaguely watery-looking. It doesn't matter much, her magic can be up to interpretation! She never really used it anyway.
Baby Alphys has shown up before in the comic... But now she's accompanied by someone.
Before the Anger- episode 19, "Picnic Party (pt. 2)"
Undyne, being a 9 year old, doesn't understand that permanent guests wouldn't be rooming with her. Also, a crush doesn't mean they want to get married.

Side Stories:
What are ((side stories))? They are short, written texts at the end of Before the Anger episodes to give us more information/ enhance the storyline. They give us narratives from the past, future, or just general stories that wouldn't fit in the main storyline. The ((side stories)) often stretch over the span of many episodes before they resolve.
((The Monster with No Name))
((She had no Appetite.))
Before the Anger- episode 43, "A Red Pen and a Dumb Book"
((Chara decided to humour Toriel and joined her in the kitchen. She even pretended to smile and said, โSure, Mother.โ and seeing Torielโs face light up made Charaโs smile genuine. What a stupid woman. Chara stood beside Toriel, looking up into her piercing eyes. Being this close to such a creature made Charaโs hands tremble, so she made a tight fist.))
The color red is very important in this comic. It symbolizes humanity. Gaster's speech bubble...

((Elaine was nothing but a small, barely-teenage girl when she stormed to Undyne's doorstep in search of refuge. She knocked at the door with the tips of her feet and waited for a response. She waited all night.))
