A woman goes to the doctor because she missed a single period.

She has a slight rounding below her navel.

She is convinced she is pregnant.

The doctors dismiss her. It would be too soon to tell. Still, she takes a test - positive. She's pregnant.

She demands a sonogram. Inside her are at least 30 small, round, dark splotches - implated embryos.

The doctors beg her to abort or at least cull the pregnancy. There is no way anyone can take this pregnancy to term. She refuses, and leavss the clinic, resting her hand on the small curve of her stomach. Nothing bad could happen from what she was eager and deaigned to do, right?

Thanks for the kind words re my writing, I’m glad people liked it. Yeah it’s one of my fav tropes too, I think because it usually leads to a bit of birth denial from the mother, no physical stopping of the birth or anything, just loadssss of trying to delay the inevitable and the primal call of nature as they are focussing on someone else’s birth. It’s a perfect combo.
