~ Crocodile

You knocked gently on his bedroom door, only there to check on him as you hadn't seen him all day today. He had missed an entire hour-long meeting this afternoon, which was Extremely unprofessional for him. Missing an opportunity to bully the hell out of Buggy was something he’d usually do, so you were up to no good and trying to find out where he was, and why your love had missed out on such a crucial part of the day. 

Your knock received no answer, but you let yourself in anyway. It was more of a warning that you were going to come in regardless. Now, you had expected him to be sitting in his room doing something important or staring at you wondering why you barged in, but what you actually found was quite a rare surprise.

Crocodile sat propped up in a char in the far corner of his room, completely sound asleep. He almost never slept in, just by nature of how busy he usually was. This was quite rare indeed, so you quietly approached him as to not wake him, leaning over his sleeping form slightly to admire him. 

He looked so peaceful, and for a moment, he looked like the sweetest man on the planet. Without that signature scowl of his, he really did look so sweet and vulnerable. The moment was brief though, as the cast of your shadow had fallen across his face and disturbed his slumber. He cracked an eye open, and you could see the start of a frown forming. 

“Good morning pretty boy~” You cooed, shooing away any attitude that had begun to rise within him. 

He blinked, staring at you quizzically for a moment. “Pretty boy?” He said in a deep, sleep driven tone. 

“Mmhmm. You look so peaceful and pretty when you’re sleeping~” You teased. “Though it is new to see you sleep in so much…”

“Wait- sleep in?” He questioned, looking confused as hell. “What time is it?”

“Nearly for in the afternoon.”

He sat in silence for a moment, in disbelief that it was really that time. After a quick glance at the clock on the wall though, he found that you were correct, and a low groan came from him as he realized what he had missed. 

“I missed the meeting, didn’t I?”

“Yeaaaaah…” You nodded. 

He sighed deeply, deciding to give up for the rest of the day. “Darling, could you grab that blanket off of the foot of my bed?”

“Hmm? Oh, yeah.” You said, taking a moment to grab it. “What do you need it for thouAH!”

Crocodile answered you by tugging you down into his lap, flicking the blanket to unfold it over both of you. 

“To continue my nap. You’re taking it with me though.” He mumbled, placing a sweet kiss to your cheek, nose, then lips. “Fuck the meeting. This pretty boy needs more sleep.”

His response made you laugh, and you were content with his decision. He was such a damn sap behind that rigid expression of his, and you were the only one who got to know it.

~ Buggy

“Ow ow ow! Be careful!!” Buggy whined in complaint. 

“I am being careful. It’s gonna hurt no matter what so suck it up babe.” You sighed. 

Buggy sat across from you as you dabbed his cut up face with rubbing alcohol, cleaning his wounds from the meeting earlier. He had once again ended up with his head hung on a hook while his ‘colleagues’ took shots at him, resulting in his current state. His cheeks and nose were all cut up, some bruising on his chin and a small bump on his forehead were the worst of the damage thankfully. They hadn’t been as harsh with him today. 

“Fuck. S’ not fuckin’ fair.” He pouted. How dare I not get the respect I deserve!”

“Oh, I know hun. One day they won’t use you as a punching bag. At least, I hope they won’t.” You said, wiping off a bit more dried blood. “I mean, your face is far too pretty to be beaten up.”

“Haaaah??”

“You heard me pretty boy. The only thing you should be getting pelted with are kisses, not punches.” You stated, removing the cloth to look at him. 

He stared up at you like a fool for a moment, and his cheeks that you had just cleaned gradually became redder. You snorted, amused by the instant response from his body.

“... Then do that for me. Make up for the damage I’ve received.” He demanded with an even bigger pout, averting his eyes.

“Tsk, in a sec you big baby. Let me finish patching you up.”

He sat there still pouting as you covered his larger scrapes with gauze to keep them from getting infected, taping them down to ensure he wouldn’t pick them off right away. When you finished, he looked back at you expectantly, one brow raised while he stared you down in an obnoxiously adorable way. 

“Well?? Are you gonna- ack! H-hey!”

You interrupted him by fulfilling his request, peppering kiss after kiss all over his cheeks, forehead, and nose; making him laugh until he forgot he was even beaten up. You sealed the deal with one last big kiss on his lips, earning some heart eyes from him as he dropped the weight of his head into your hands. 

“Is that better, pretty boy?” You asked. 

“Mmhmm. So much better.” He replied, looking an absolute fool. 

“Tsk, you’re such a sap.”

“I know.”

~ Mihawk

Only one person in the entire world could get away with using gushy pet names on The Dracule Mihawk, and by god were you glad that person was you. Well, maybe a couple people could get away with using certain names on him, but you were the only ones his eyes softened for in response. You loved that look in his eyes, and honestly, you thought now would be a good time to see that reflected in those golden irises of his.

You tried to sneak up on him, but he was witty; that and he held the title of greatest swordsman for a damn reason. He put down the sword he was cleaning before you even got a chance to start sneaking up on him, ruining your fun. 

“I know you’re there, dear.”

“Man, you always ruin the fun!” You pouted, shuffling over next to him. 

“No, you just need to get better at concealing your presence.” He chuckled. 

“Oh excuse me, pretty boy, for not being as cool as you.”

“Pretty boy? Mmm, that’s new." He hummed. 

“Is it? Surely I’ve called you that before, haven’t I?” You pondered. 

“Hmm, no, not that I can recall. I like it though. Call me that again.” He asked, looking over at you with a tiny smirk. 

“What? N-no! You’re supposed to be caught off guard, not me.” You grumbled with warm cheeks. 

“Heh, this is why you’re the cutest.”

He took your hand and gently tugged you down just far enough to steal a kiss from your lips, earning a cute noise of surprise from you. He was always so gentle for being someone so dangerous, and you couldn’t help but melt because of that. The smile he gave you afterwards made your heart throb with affection, and you rolled your eyes at him. 

“Stupid pretty boy…”

“Love you too, hun.” He chuckled.

~ Lucci

You’re pretty… you know that right?” You mumbled. 

His fingers slowed the massage he was giving your scalp, and Lucci lifted his head from the arm of the couch a bit to study you with a raised brow. 

“Pretty?”

“Mmhmm. My pretty boy~” You hummed. “Prettiest government agent on the sea.”

His chest shook with laughter, disturbing the position you were lying in atop him. You were about to complain a little, but his fingers resumed playing with your hair and had you falling back into that blissful, trance-like state. The smile you saw on him made everything better, and a little movement meant nothing to you. 

“Don't say that so loud. Kaku might hear and get jealous.” He said through his chuckled, shifting a little to get more comfy. 

“Why would he be jealous? Don’t tell me Mr. “giraffes are cool” would be jealous of me praising you!” You laughed, finding the idea quite funny. 

“Mmm, he would though. He has been before, considering leopards are far cooler.” He spoke quietly, craning his neck closer to your ear. “But you’re such a catch; it really makes sense for others to be jealous when I’m the one who gets to call you all mine~”

“Oh… shush you~” You scolded, smushing your cheek into his chest. “As if I’d ever call anyone other than you pretty anyway.”

The response to your comment was an unexpected one, because it came from someone else, not Lucci. A squawk of protest was the best thing you could call it, and all became clear when a wing hit the side of your head. Lifting it, you saw Hattori perched on the back of the couch looking down at you in the most angry way a pigeon possibly could. You snorted, giggles spilling out of you now as you looked back over to Lucci.

“Actually, heh, it seems like I need to loosen those terms a bit. Can you make an exception too, hun?” You snickered. 

He took a glance at his feathered friend, and snorted foolishly when he saw the angry expression he wore. Who knew a pigeon could pout?

“Yeah, yeah I can make an exception for Hattori.”

“There, see? No reason to pout, pretty bird.” You cooed, looking back up at the little guy. 

Hattori puffed his feathers up a bit before settling down, cooing pleasantly with approval as he nodded at you. This made you laugh even more, and Lucci joined in, rather amused by Hattori himself. 

“I know you were perfect.” Lucci mumbled, suddenly swooning over you and placing a kiss to your forehead.

“You missed, pretty boy.”

“Sorry, my bad.”

He corrected his gesture once more, capturing your lips instead while Hattori rolled his eyes before flying off.

i have such a love for characters who descend into madness or villainy out of deep, deep empathy. characters who fundamentally cannot cope with the cruel realities they find themselves in and blow up about it in spectacular fashion. fallen angel type characters with tears of outrage in their eyes. characters who break before they bend, and break so badly they splatter blood all over their noble ideals. every variation on it gets me so good

Original fanart of Nezuko and Tanjiro Kamado from the anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. If you haven't seen it, check it out! The character belongs to Koyoharu Gotouge/it's rightful owner.

This Nezuko and Tanjiro was also drawn a year ago around the same time as my previous Tanjiro. Out of the two I lean towards this piece being my favourite, I think I just like the colours and how they're posed together in this piece~
