ever since I became aware of jkr's true beliefs and actions, I have not bought any hp merchandise. I haven't seen any of her stuff in theaters or on streaming or anywhere else. I have not given her any money in years.

however, I read the fanfiction. I look at the posts. but she is not getting any royalty checks from AO3 or tumblr.

people who boycott anything to do with jkr are awesome! admirable, even. but that will never eradicate her. that won't erase the millions of people who just don't know or don't care, or, even worse, agree with her. and, if you do boycott her stuff, I hope you don't have hbomax because she is getting royalty checks for that. it doesn't matter if you don't watch hp or fantastic beasts - part of your monthly fee goes directly to her.

but what if we take her characters from her? we won't get money for it, obviously, but neither will she. I see more hp/marauders fanfics with genderqueer characters than I do without. we can make her characters LGBT, socialist, feminine icons, all the things she hates, and she won't get a cent from it.

go ahead and keep boycotting her if you still think that's what's best, but stop telling me I can't support hp without supporting jkr because, yes, I fucking can.
