IwaOi symbology:

• Iwaizumi = “rock spring”, like a fountain 

• Oikawa = “follow the river” 

“a sprig feeds into a river” I saw someone using this phrase for them and found it perfect. because they are like a spring and a river – they make each other stronger, and give each other purpose.

When combined, Iwaizumi and Oikawa’s first names (Hajime and Tōru respectively) form “一徹” meaning “obstinate” or “dauntless”. Which once again means that together they make each other stronger.

• Hajime = First, Beginning and Tooru = Through Until the End also complement each other “The beginning to pass through the end" “the beginning and the end” 

• Oikawa shares the same birthday as Alexander III King of Macedonia. (Alexander was also known as “The Great King”) and Iwaizumi’s birthday is the date of Alexander’s death. (Once again being “The beginning and the end”)

“A-un” correlation:

• The term "Aun no kokyuu” was used by Kageyama to describe them. Referring to the perfect sync between them.

This term is used figuratively in some Japanese expressions such as “a-un breathing” (a-un no kokyū) or “a-un relationship” (a-un no naka), indicating a very harmonious relationship with non-verbal communication. When two people are so in sync (both in actions and feelings) with each other they almost seem to use telepathy.
“They are physically and mentally connected” 

• The word “Aun / 阿 吽” refers to two guardian warriors. “kokyu / 呼吸” means to breathe.
• “Aun no kokyu / 阿 吽 の 呼吸” refers to two guardian warriors who are so connected that they can synchronize their breaths. (and so is used to refer to harmonious, nonverbal relationships)

• It is commonly used to refer to long-married Japanese couples who are able to anticipate what the other wants/will do without having to say anything.

• A-un in Shinto and Buddhism is represented by the Shisa lions who together symbolically represent the beginning and the end of all things.

• The term A-un (阿 吽) is the Japanese transliteration of the two syllables “a” and “hūṃ”.
• The original term is composed of two letters, the first and last of the Sanskrit alphabet.阿 indicates the beginning of all the sounds you make when you open your mouth and 吽 indicates the end of all the sounds you make when you close your mouth, so together they mean the beginning and the end of all things.
