I love when a gifset is epic and powerful, and then you look up the song that it’s set to and it just gets that much more epic and powerful with the music sweeping behind it. I’ve found some darn good songs from gifsets, too. This set is just wonderfully done. 

I can’t decide if I want El to get her powers back in season 4, or if it would be better for her to be free of them... I mean it’d be nice to have them back, but maybe she’s safer without them...

Happy New Year 2023!!

I bought a fancy paper hat at the grocery store (because I'm a sucker for shiny purple paper fedoras* with clocks on them apparently), consumed a little wine+, and knelt on the office floor and kissed my boy cat on his fluffy little head at like 12:04am because I was trying to finish my annual blogspot post**, do a Duolingo lesson, and find whatever TV channel has the ball drop all at once and I sort of missed it. But here we are nonetheless!

*Actually I think it might be kind of like a short top hat? I could post a picture later if anyone is particularly interested. It’s blatantly cheap and kitschy but I also think it’s really pretty actually. Also, as you can maybe tell, I’m still in pajamas; did not leave the house today.

+Technically I got strawberry daiquiri wine (it’s a cheap brand, Mom laughed when I showed it to her because it’s something they used to joke about in like high school or something), coconut creme liqueur rum (easily the strongest of the batch but still pleasantly sweet), and Bailey’s irish creme (definitely the most expensive but also probably the tastiest). I was just going to buy one but I don’t drink very often at all and I was curious to try something new and also I’m chronically indecisive so, here we are. I think I did pretty well picking sweet things actually though. Goodness gracious am I sleepy now though. I swear alcohol pretty much only ever seems to make me sleepy. Barely made it to midnight. Although I guess it’s almost one now. I have been rambling here for a while somehow.

Anyways here’s my mildly incoherent, slightly alcohol-soaked, new year’s post! I mostly wanted to show off my cute little boy cat’s reaction to our new year’s kiss. I love the way he looks at me, like, “I don’t know what’s going on but I love you <3″ is just written in his eyes. 

You know, I didn't get an email from my new friend Jonathan Harker today! He's been emailing me every day of his trip so far. Do you think I should be worried? I wonder if something strange is going on in that castle...

Nah, I'm being silly, he's probably just busy with legal documents and so forth. I'm sure everything is fine.

So the one on the left is from August of 2010 but it’s about the closest I could find; side note, I have had a whole heck of a wild nostalgia trip today looking back through old pictures on my mom’s computer to find this. 

And yet, oddly, I’m kind of surprised how little I’ve changed from then until now? For a minute I almost wondered if this picture was dated wrong because some of the pictures of me in 2009 looked like they were from much longer ago somehow, but I think the date is right... I guess it’s kind of hilarious to me looking at how much everyone else in these pictures has changed and I just. Have not. 14 year old me and 24 year old me look almost the same. Maybe this is why it’s so hard for me to believe that much time has passed, haha. If I wasn’t a coward and I’d dyed my hair this summer like I was thinking about, maybe... but anyways, yeah. I’m perhaps a bit better accessorized now, although in fairness 2010 me was on a hike to the Cascades in Pembroke, Va, which is also why I was wearing my conspicuously rainbow-colored swimsuit under my shirt. But so much is still the same I’m a little flabbergasted that it’s been a literal decade between these pictures. 

*Kill All Your Friends starts playing* It’s been ten *bleep*ing years.... Sorry, wrong album. 

the 10th anniversary of Danger Days is coming up on November 22nd and i think we should all post what we looked like when the album was released verses now yknow “me November 2010 vs me November 2020” i think that’d be really cute

Happy Tumblr Prom 2021!!! I had a fun time doing a fancy photoshoot for @internet-prom-2021​ today; it was a good chance to dig out my old formalwear, including my actual junior prom dress, the suit I assembled for my Oswald Cobblepot Halloween costume in 2018, and my fairy wings from a different Halloween, because this is Tumblr prom, and this time I’m wearing fairy wings. Oh, and what would a formal photoshoot be without a sword? :)

Fancy jump shot + cool shadow :) I love how my skirt looks like flower petals here, even if my head got cut off in the mirror, lol. 

Also fun fact, the tie knot I used is called “the eldredge knot” (not to be confused with “eldritch” haha), and it’s also one of the knots Noam uses in The Guards Themselves--in Back in the Ring specifically--which may have had some influence on my choice of tie knot, haha. The video I used to tie it is here if you want to try. Here it is up close!

And while we’re doing closeups, here’s a closer look at my makeup (for my second photoshoot in my dress, which actually shows up first in this post; I did just the eyeliner, mascara, and a lighter lipstick for my pictures in the suit):

I tried to do a rainbow ombre thing with my eyeshadow but I maaay have taken up a bit too much space with the purple part, which I suppose is very on brand for me. It’s been forever since I put makeup on, but it is kinda fun to play around with :) 

And here’s a closeup where you can see my hair a bit better, too :) I did a whole braid thing but it didn’t show up a ton in most of the pictures. 

Oh, and here’s an artsy thing I did where I put my travelling selfie photoshoot mirror on the ground and took a selfie looking up at myself, for artistic reasons.

At first I was disappointed that Ed was left out, but then I realized, even though he’s not pictured really, there are two gifs of Os looking at him/attempting to confess his love for him, so he’s implied in it.
